Luo Yiming follows Fang Luofan into the Conference Room. After undergoing more than 10 minutes of “Re-Education”, by the time he’s finally let out, every inch of him radiates the lofty air of “I’ve already seen through this universe”.

Fang Luofan has just finished “re-educating” Luo Yiming, but his worries are still not settled. Hence, he instructs the members of PG: “Everyone will listen to Jing Yu and Qin Fei when banning demons in the future. You’re not allowed to make your own decisions. You got that?”

After all, 《Demon Lord》’s PGL explicitly states that no Coach may give any form of in-game guidance. The only thing Fang Luofan can do is to clip their wings as much as possible, using every tactic in the book to keep these lunatics from going wild.

In the afternoon, PG fought another two matches, bagging them with nary the slightest bit of suspense. Nevertheless, Jing Yu can’t help but feel there’s really something weird about it.

In the first match, Ye Hong accidentally slipped up, causing the enemy mage to send him back to the revival point with one Ult. The Mid Lane turret was thus destroyed.

With this, they lost an eye in the Mid-Lane, giving their enemy a head-start in snatching the dragon. Jing Yu hastily rushed to the Demonic Dragon, intending to counter-snatch the Dragon. In the end, he’s met with only the sight of the Demonic Dragon sitting obediently in place, even leisurely licking at its own scales. Don’t talk about demons, there’s not even a single ghost in sight……

The second match is even more dramatic. During their second team battle, Luo Yiming screwed up in his motion control and toppled flat on the floor. This caused PG’s AD to fall short and be aced. Jing Yu was secretly panicking in his heart. The Demonic Dragon’s definitely going to be stolen! But in the end, he saw from the mini-map that the enemy had already gone back to their lanes, happily clearing up the lane creeps from PG’s side.

WTF?!

It’s understandable not to snatch the dragon, but under a situation where they just aced and could snatch openly, they actually went for the creeps instead. Why exactly did they do that?

Jing Yu can’t get it no matter how much he ponders. Or at least, that is until night comes and he is laying on his bed with his phone, clicking into《Demon Lord》’s forum to see a tower** on the homepage titled: “Please advise on what to do if you’re matched up to a Top 8”.

(**Tower: I suppose Demon Lord’s forum is modelled after the game. So Towers = Posts, Comments = Levels. Wonder what happens if the tower topples? ;))

0L: As the title says. OP is in a team that is recently established. Not seeking to enter the Elimination Round. Only begging to appear in the Qualifiers. I’m ultra-scared that I’ll meet a Top 8 on the first day ah. What if I really do meet them?

1L: Lay flat on the ground.

2L: HAHAHAHA, Big Bro, your reply’s God level!

3L: New teams generally don’t stand a chance against Top 8. Just treat it as a match for experience.

4L: Before you get pressed down on the ground, make a cool pose!

5L: What do you still need to play for if you meet a Top 8 ah? Just take a group photo for memories!

6L: HAHAHAHAHA! Upstairs are all too bad! Aching for OP! However, I also want to say. It’s best to lay flat if you really match with a Top 8. It’s impossible to win.

7L: Let me answer OP seriously. If you run into SOS, Sariel is a must-ban. Depending on the situation, Merman should also be banned. You can’t give their family a strong healer. If you’re met with ANE, ban Jinghua Shuiyue. This team’s support can hard-carry the team. You really need to watch out for him. And then, if the one you’re facing is PG, always remember one thing – Do not snatch the dragon!

8L: Do not snatch the dragon?!

9L: Are you for real?!

10L: Why can’t we snatch the dragon?

11L: I don’t know why, but I think I get what 7th Bro’s hinting at……

12L: Upstairs, don’t go! I also know! If you’re met with PG, your cards can be bad, but you must never snatch the dragon!

13L: ??? I still DK. Can anyone come explain a bit? Why can’t we steal PG’s dragon?

14L: For comprehensive info, please take a look at the neighbouring tower: “PG can’t win without having their Dragon snatched?’ [link]

Upon seeing this, Jing Yu smoothly clicks into that link. After seeing a few levels, he’s a bit caught between tears and laughter – So this is how people viewed their “Dragging out the latter half”?

He more or less understands why those three teams didn’t steal the Dragon today. It’s not that they didn’t want to, but they didn’t dare to?

They couldn’t have seen these two posts right before the match and got misled ba?

Jing Yu takes note of the page count on these two posts – There are 500 levels on each page. The earlier tower already has 2 pages, whereas the latter one….. actually has 4 already?!

What sort of situation is this?

Jing Yu has a bad premonition. He returns to the first post he opened, clicking into its last page.

As expected, they’ve started tearing into each other.

1527L: Can those deceptive bastards all scram?!

1528L: WTH is Upstairs so emotional about? Tell us your team name! Are you Blink or SD or X78?

1529L: Some people are too ridiculous ba. Everyone’s just kidding around in the forum. Yet, when they followed it and lost, they’d blame the forum? Moreover, this season’s PG is indeed quite strong. I dare say, you can’t win even if you snatched the dragon!

1530L: What are you suggesting about Blink, SD and X78?! How can you say they’re misled by this post and didn’t snatch the dragon? Do you have any evidence? If you don’t, then STFU!

1531L: Freedom of speech. Get it?

The flaming gets increasingly intense near the end. Jing Yu loses all interest and closes the forum, sucking in and holding a mouthful of air. He can’t really put his thumb on how he feels.

He doesn’t want the forum’s conjecture to be right. He doesn’t want this to be the reason why those three teams did not snatch the dragon today. Otherwise, he will feel like he did not actually win.

Regardless, he is fully certain: even if the opponents snatched the dragon, they would still win the match. After all, the difference in their strength is far too obvious.

The three teams they encountered today are on a totally different level from ANE and SOS. Therefore, even Fang Luofan didn’t really brief them on those teams.

After switching off his phone, Jing Yu sets it aside and turns in.

The urge to use the restroom surfaces just as he is dozing off. He reluctantly crawls out from his bed, donning his PJ’s and slippers to leave the room.

The hallway without a single light is a bit dark. Holding onto the wall as his guide, Jing Yu carefully makes his way forward.

Just as he is arriving at the restroom, he hears a flushing sound and flinches. Before he can process the sound, the door swings open and somebody walks out of the restroom.

To his surprise, it is Qin Fei.

Qin Fei totally didn’t expect to bump into Jing Yu at the door. He gets a huge scare, but he only tenses slightly, immediately saying: “Still not asleep?”

Jing Yu gives a soft and feeble “En”: “Fei Ge, good evening.”

Qin Fei is wearing only a pair of sleeping shorts. He’s half-naked from the waist up. The firm muscles can only make one envious, especially the eight pack at his core. Under the light of the restroom, it’s painted an alluring colour.

His gaze flits over Jing Yu’s creamy white PJ’s, the edges of his lips turning up subconsciously: “Still thinking about why the enemies didn’t steal the dragon?”

“Erm……” Jing Yu doesn’t know how to reply. He already got his answer, but the simplicity of it only makes him feel mentally retarded for pondering the whole day… In the end, he decides to skip over this question, “Fei Ge, you came out to use the toilet?”

Isn’t this obvious?!

Jing Yu really wants nothing more than to smack himself to death.

Yet, right before he is able to do so, he hears a light laugh.

After laughing, Qin Fei asks with a bit of a playful tone: “Are you scared of me?”

Jing Yu startles, apprehensively raising his head to meet his gaze: “No……”

“Then, why do you always become so skittish when we’re alone?” As he says this, Qin Fei takes an intentional step towards him, getting closer.

They weren’t far apart to begin with. With Qin Fei’s one step, Jing Yu instinctively backs up a step.

Seeing Jing Yu’s obvious panic, Qin Fei purposely uses an even more playful tone to edge on: “Because I’m your hubby?”

Red instantly erupts over Jing Yu’s face. Yet, he doesn’t refute it— Because that’s a fact.

Qin Fei, he really is his God ah…..

His lack of retort makes Qin Fei discomforted in contrast, feeling as though he’d gone too far.

Following that line of thought, Qin Fei raises a hand, feigning apathy as he ruffles Jing Yu’s hair: “It’s just a joke. Alright. No more teasing. Get to bed after you use the toilet.”

“En.” Jing Yu’s answer is somewhat muted.

That’s because when Qin Fei ruffled his hair and made his head lower slightly, his gaze ended up landing on Qin Fei’s v-cut abs. He can’t tear his eyes away no matter how he tries.

Qin Fei doesn’t notice his stare. After saying his bit, he brushes past him to head to his room.

Jing Yu dizzily makes his way into the restroom, and finally snaps back to himself – Heavens, he can’t hold back anymore!

On the second day of the Preliminaries, the live commentators are Fang Luofan and his partner.

His partner is Yoyo, a beauty who’s a tad less adorable than Candy, but being more mature, exudes an air full of womanly charm.

Her voice is also pleasant to the ears, a soft mezzo-soprano that carries a bit of husk, which comes off as alluring.

Fang Luofan: 【Hello, and welcome to LDPL**’s Preliminaries. I am Fang Luofan.】

(**Lord Demon Pro’s League: Demon Lord’s PGL)

Yoyo: 【I am Yoyo.】

【The match which we are looking at now is between PG and LGT.】Fang Luofan looks at both parties on the screen, feeling a bit complicated. This seems to be his first-time live commentating for PG. This feeling is quite different.

Yoyo: 【I believe everyone must be familiar with the team, PG. They are a Top 8 hailing from the last PGL. Fast-paced battles are this team’s forte. That’s right. If I’m not wrong, Luofan, you’re now coaching this team?】

Fang Luofan: 【That’s right.】

Yoyo:【Let me interview you then: Sir, what do you think of PG as a team? How do you think they’ll perform in this season?】

Fang Luofan chuckles:【If you’re asking me, as the Coach, I’m definitely biased towards them. Although occasionally, this team does muck around…… They’re still fairly stable in most situations. They totally have the potential to win the Championship.】

【Wow! That’s a very high assessment. I’m looking forward to PG’s performance in this season.】Upon saying this, LGT bans the first demon and Yoyo immediately explains, 【LGT makes the first move right off the bat and bans Qin Fei’s Satan. However, I believe Qin Fei must have anticipated this. Afterall, in the last PGL, his Satan was kept on the ban list and never let down once.】

Fang Luofan:【PG’s side bans Camael. This isn’t surprising. OP marksman are must-bans.】

Yoyo:【LGT goes on to swiftly ban Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. Be it AD or CC, Ye Zi’s Nine-Tailed Demon Fox excels in all of them. It’s a pity we won’t get to see it in action in this match.】

Fang Luofan: 【PG bans Black Serpent to return an eye for an eye. This isn’t a bad call.】

Yoyo:【LGT hesitates a bit, then bans Scarlet Fury. En, looks like LGT is intending to target the solo-laner.】

Faced with such a crippling dilemma, Ye Hong only has one thing to say: WTF?!

Luo Yiming’s eyes light up: Can it be?!

Under these two people’s eyes each bearing their own hope and devastation, Jing Yu bans Death God, then LGT instalocks Centaur!

PG’s members: ! ! !

Luo Yiming laughs long and hearty into the sky: “HAHAHAHAHA! This time, Laozi will hard-carry you guys!”

Saying that, they instalock Black Cupid!

–Lifeline in hand, pentakill is all mine to take!

On the other side of the spectrum, Jing Yu only silently stares at the foe’s choice of ban, lost deep in thought.

–They’re crippling the mid laner to this extent. Are they aiming to snatch the dragon?

Tamago: Don’t look at GoldFish being bullied now. A page in the domestic life of the CP in the future: GoldFish: “Fei Ge, do it now. Or I’ll punch you.” [Smiles sweetly] Sleepy: “………ok.” [Breathes] [Actually, he really wants to be punched.]

Mara: The sentence: The hallway without a single light is a bit dark. TRIGGERED  *In a Sassy Sue bitchy tone* NO, it’s bathed in the holy BL light. Couple of paragraphs later:…Oh, it is bathed in holy v-line BL light…
