Tamago: Okay~ It’s time for that thing I’ve been warning you guys about. Though I said the last chapter that this fight will be quite intense, the first 3 parts are also quite game-intensive, so this may go either way for you. I (non-gamer here) personally found it quite thrilling when I was translating, but I had to read out everything when I was editing to keep things interesting (fun fact: Speaking in the voice of the live commentators was extra fun (=u=)b Highly recommend). Mara (gamer) also didn’t find it too interesting to read either.

All things have reasons, ofc, and in this case, it’s the intensity of this game. With so many developments occurring in-game, there isn’t time to showcase what goes on in PG’s training room or the comments barrage. You can also say this is the first game where PG are dead serious, and though that’s cool of them, it certainly killed a bit of their fun.

Don’t worry though, because our lovable PG shall make a reappearance! I chose this specific chapter to release the extras, just so you guys don’t have to wait through the agony. Jump to the end of C54 / C55 for PG’s shenanigans if you tire of this game, because a very special someone will soon make a reappearance!

Halfling: 【In this round, both line-ups are very aggressive!】

Candy: 【Indeed! On ANE’s side, we’ve got the Top Solo-laner Death God, the Top Jungler Burial Sword, the OP Mage Peacock Plume, and one shouldn’t even need to mention the Centaur-Merman bottom-laning tag-team; they are extremely vicious in the first half.】

Halfling: 【Meanwhile, on PG’s side, we’ve got Qin Fei’s Satan and ONE’s Dark Cupid, both of which are considered must-bans. Ye Hong’s Scarlet Fury is also one tricky customer. Sariel’s Blood-Lock, Speed-Booster ability is simply on the level of a bug. And last but not least – Goldfish’s undefeatable Frozen Heart!】

Candy: 【Besides the Invitational Playoffs, this should be the first clash of the Top 8 in this season, right?】

Halfling: 【Yup, you’re absolutely right! At the same time, this is Goldfish’s first battle with a Top 8 after joining PG!】

Candy: 【The Top 8 is undoubtedly the strongest. When facing ANE, I wonder if Goldfish’s Frozen Heart will be able to put on a display as spectacular as in the Preliminaries?】

Halfling: 【I believe he can! Player Goldfish has already given rise to so many miracles. Those who’ve seen his matches should all know – He truly is a brilliant Jungler! That’s why, even if he is challenging ANE, I still believe he can do exceptionally well with Frozen Heart!】

Candy: 【Well then! How exactly will this match turn out? Let’s wait and see!】

Following the two commentators’ lead-in, the timer zeroes out and both parties’ demons enter the Battlefield – The match between PG and ANE formally begins!

Getting the Marksman and Mage’s boosters still remains the first step of the game.

Once Luo Yiming’s Dark Cupid has seized the Red*, Jing Yu’s Frozen Heart sets off straight away to slaughter all forest monsters in the vicinity.

(*seized the Red = seized the Red Demon’s head)

Right from the start, Frozen Heart is the demon he’d trained most with. After using it repeatedly for an entire week through the Preliminaries, he’s more or less scoped out the safest and fastest way of killing these neutral creeps.

Therefore, right when the enemy Burial Sword hits Lv.6, his Frozen Heart also reaches Lv.6 and gains his Ult.

You’ve got to know that with Frozen Heart’s level of squishiness, it’s already good enough not to be killed by the forest monsters in the first half. But in one fell swoop, Jing Yu’s Frozen Heart actually massacred all monsters in his party’s Jungle. What’s more, he’s even left with a third of his HP by the end of that last kill. By Frozen Heart’s standards, this is simply out of the world!

Halfling: 【As expected of the Mainland Server’s Top Frozen Heart! Look at this jungling speed! He’s going head to head with Fly’s Burial Sword – Pray tell, how many people are capable of this?】

Candy: 【When Goldfish was jungling, he kept using motion-control and Flash to dodge the forest monsters’ attacks. Be it his timing or his motion-control, both are refined to a level that’s utterly unbelievable!】

Halfling: 【I reckon Goldfish must be an extremely wise fellow in reality…… Woah, all of a sudden, I’m looking forward to the Elimination Round!】

Candy: 【Because it’s an offline round?】

Halfling: 【Exactly! Don’t you want to see how these amazing players look like in real life?】

Candy: 【Hahaha! I sure wanna see them! Hopefully, I won’t be disillusioned when the time comes!】

During their conversation, Jing Yu’s Frozen Heart flies over to the Mid Lane with the obvious aim of ganking Peacock Plume. Still, the enemy Burial Sword makes a swift interception and following a short exchange of swords, both parties back off and retreat as though nothing has ever happened.

Halfling: 【Goldfish wanted to gank the Mid Lane but he was found out by Fly!】

Candy: 【Both teams are playing quite cautiously……En? Frozen Heart and Burial Sword aren’t leaving yet?!】

Since the live-stream takes on a bird’s eye view, they can clearly see – After Frozen Heart and Burial Sword’s short bout, both demons put on the surface appearance of retreating, but actually hid in the bushes near their respective turrets. Neither side has given up on ganking the opponent’s mid-laner.

As for the two mid-laners – Scarlet Fury and Peacock Plume act none the wiser to their own Junglers lurking nearby. Neither gives off any indication of kiting, minding their business and tending to their own creeps as though all is fine in the world.

Even though the next wave of forest monsters is on the brink of being refreshed and both Junglers’ gold will fall back should they not leave any time now, be it Jing Yu’s Frozen Heart or Fly’s Burial Sword, neither has the slightest intention to budge from their positions.

Candy: 【As expected of a Clash of the Top 8. They’re both holding out despite the pressure…… Uh, Scarlet Fury’s moving into action?!】

Right when they thought both sides would keep up this deadlock, Ye Hong’s Scarlet Fury Flashes dead into the enemy’s bush and releases a Blood Entanglement. And the target of that attack is – Burial Sword!

To fork out his Flash with such bravado, this truly is a kind of underhanded feat only Ye Hong is capable of.

Unexpectedly enough, just when he CC’s Burial Sword, Jing Yu’s Frozen Heart also unleashes Snow Allure and links up to Burial Sword!

Using a single beautiful maneuver, Frozen Heart lunges to get close to Burial Sword, and taking a step in Peacock Plume’s direction, his Ultimate’s released!

The harsh winds of Snowstorm howl horrendously as they entrap Burial Sword and Peacock Plume in their whirling grasps. Both demons instantaneously turn into ice statues – They’re CC’ed!

In the next second, Frozen Heart’s combo-attack and Scarlet Fury’s Ultimate blend seamlessly together. The squishy Peacock Plume doesn’t last even one second, dropping dead to the ground pitifully.

The First Blood has been made!

【System】Frozen Heart, First Kill!

【System】The enemy Peacock Plume has been slain!

After having taken down the enemy demon’s head, Frozen Heart’s Teleport refreshes and he Teleports over to Burial Sword. At the same time, his CC loses effect. Burial Sword uses Teleport on top of Flash, not even sparing a moment to look back as he retreats and ducks into his family’s turret with his 40-metre long sword in hand.

It’s a bit of a pity to let Burial Sword slip, but if nothing else, they at least managed to knock him down to low HP. For the time being, there’s little chance of anyone being ganked by him.

Scarlet Fury merrily finishes farming his creeps and heads over to circle around in the Bottom Lane.

Frozen Heart also returns to his own family’s Jungle with the ease of mind, clearing off the 2nd creep wave.

【Terrific!】Halfling can’t help commending, 【The timing and aim of Scarlet Fury’s Flash are simply way too terrific! It’s as though he’s got the enemy’s field of view*! Goldfish’s timing when he Ult-ed was flawless as well!】

(*G/E: Because they are limited to what they can see on their screen.)

Candy: 【Yeah! He CC’ed both Burial Sword and Peacock Plume in one move! Or rather, should we say that his target was Peacock Plume from the get-go?】

Halfling: 【I would suppose so. It’s impossible for a Frozen Heart of this level to kill Burial Sword this early on in battle. But it’s a different story for Peacock Plume. After all, she may be a mage, but she’s also very squishy.】

Candy: 【It shouldn’t be left unsaid, ANE’s Fly truly had quick reflexes. He slipped away immediately after breaking free of CC. If any other team was in their place, Frozen Heart might’ve just been able to secure a Double Kill just now!】

The thought of double killing has never once crossed Jing Yu’s mind.

Although he only ever battled ANE once in a practice match, he got a gauge of their abilities and is positively certain Burial Sword would’ve been able to get away just now.

Therefore, Candy’s conjecture is quite accurate – Jing Yu’s target had been Peacock Plume right from the start, and only Peacock Plume.

Having Ye Hong’s Scarlet Fury CC Burial Sword was only for the sake of preventing Burial Sword’s interference in Peacock Plume’s gank.

Suicidal moves like Flashing over to CC the enemy are Ye Hong’s absolute faves. Back when Jing Yu just joined PG, he was nearly driven nuts by them.

Each time they co-oped, it only seemed to be another test of his abilities.

But today, after he’s gotten plenty used to Ye Hong’s risky plays; not only is Jing Yu no longer grievously startled, he even learnt how to make use of them to catch the enemies off guard.

–Take that First Kill from just now! That is a prime example!

After the First Blood is drawn, PG’s morale skyrockets. The Top, Mid, and Bottom Lanes burst into action simultaneously!

Halfling: 【Satan is invading the tower! Is he planning to tower-dive?! Death God reacts swiftly and Flashes away at once! It seems impossible to close the distance between them. As expected, Satan gives up and pulls out the turret!】

Candy: 【Sariel Ults! Dark Cupid invades the tower with locked blood! Merman forks out his Shield and Centaur Flashes – Aiya, they escaped! What a shame!】

PG suppresses ANE completely in all three lanes. This match is clearly skewed in PG’s favour.

With that said, PG never managed to secure another kill again. ANE is extremely cautious throughout the whole game. The moment defeat seems close at sight, they flee. Even if they’ve got to abandon a turret, they refused to let PG get another half a head.

In this fashion, 10 minutes passes. The battle score remains unbudgingly fixed at 1 : 0.

At this point, the Demonic Dragon refreshes, but the Demonic Disk down in the Bottom Jungle remains unconquered.

Halfling: 【The two teams are in a deadlock. They’ve got to conquer either the Demonic Dragon or Disk to turn things around!】

Candy: 【From the looks of things so far, PG has the upper hand. Ane’s gold has already fallen behind PG by a great deal!】

Halfling: 【Qin Fei’s Satan moves first and demolishes the first turret in the Top Lane!】

Candy: 【Now, he’s headed towards the Mid Lane. Are they intending to assemble there?】

As if to prove Candy’s words, a little after Qin Fei’s Satan arrives at the Mid Lane, all other demons charge over to gather up.

PG beats ANE to it. The team dodges into the bushes near the Demonic Dragon in preparation for an ambush, waiting for ANE to open team battle.

Soon enough, the members of ANE all arrive. The first ability Peacock Plume hurls on a whim just so happens to be aimed right at the bushes!

Even though PG dodge with Flash, there are still some demons who’re snagged by the attack and lose a skin of blood.

Upon discovering PG in the bushes, Peacock Plume spares no qualms and immediately Ults! Almost at the same time, Death God also slashes his scythe forward but he only catches air.

“I’m opening Team*!” Jing Yu barks as he links his Frozen Heart up to the demon at ANE’s centre – Peacock Plume! Snow Allure over to her, then, Ult with a Snowstorm!

(*opening Team: opening Team Battle; more succinct)

But right as he releases his ability, Burial Sword Teleports over with Defend – And he tanks!

“Fuck!” Jing Yu curses incredulously. Even if he flies into action at once, forking out Flash in attempt to flee, he’s still pierced by Centaur’s arrows and instakilled!

【System】Centaur, First Kill!

【System】The ally Frozen Heart has been slain!

“Don’t round up! Disperse!” Jing Yu fixes his eyes on the countdown to revival on his screen. He can’t help being agitated – Though he pulled out all stops to deal with ANE, something out of his expectations still happened. This is simply driving him nuts.

Upon hearing him yell “Disperse!”, his teammates reflexively back away. And yet, even though they wish to leave, ANE certainly doesn’t have the slightest intention to let them go.

–HI’s Merman Flashes right over to the centre of PG. He spits out a Bubble which arbitrarily CC’s Scarlet Fury, then Centaur barrels forward abruptly and attacks madly!

【System】Centaur, Double Kill!

【System】The ally Scarlet Fury has been slain!

Immediately thereafter with Merman’s support, all members of ANE lunge out at PG’s surviving members in a crazed flurry of attacks!

“Get outta here now! I’ll be right behind you!” Han Leng hollers, making Sariel Ult with his Blood-Lock, Speed-Booster!

“NO! OLD HAN, YOU CAN’T DIE! I’M HERE TO SAVE YOU!” Luo Yiming roars and makes his Dark Cupid teleport backwards, taking aim at Centaur and sniping! Still, his blood empties swiftly under Death God’s Death Scythe!

【System】Centaur, Triple Kill!

【System】The ally Dark Cupid has been slain!

【System】Centaur, Quadrakill!

【System】The ally Sariel has been slain!

Qin Fei: “……Luo Yiming, what the hell’s wrong with you?!”

Luo Yiming: “Are you telling me to watch the support die for my sake?!”

Han Leng: “……”

Ye Hong: “……”

Jing Yu: “……”

Isn’t…the job of the support…… to protect the Marksman?

Their family’s C Position has really got to be out of his mind.

Tamago: He strikes! He proteccs! He’s your friendly neighbourhood hooligan, Luo-Yi-Ming! ( Yiming literally means “one strike”.) PS. Why did the author suddenly change the format for 【System】? I don’t know _(꒪ཀ꒪」∠)_

Mara: Who knows? I wondered that too when I saw it. Will you change it or will we put it to be the same as always?

Tamago: The author is law. Let’s roll with it. (*Whistles* Pretend I didn’t put Peacock Plume as a sista, when author changed her halfway through to a him. …Maybe I’ll make her a him in the future.)
