Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Time to Escape

Bob Presley’s father was on the verge of coughing up blood on the spot out of rage: “You bastard! So make the guarantee, what, do you want to ruin the Presley family, and make our lifetime of hard work go down the drain because of you?”

Upon witnessing how Bob Presley’s father was beating Bob, Yigol Novak was very frustrated.

He had already conceded so much, but Bob simply did not know how to appreciate his goodwill.

If Suri Drew had feelings for him, it would have been different. But Suri had never liked him. His affection for her was grotesque.

Unable to bear it any longer, Yigol Novak intervened, saying: “Enough.”

“I won’t give you a hard time either. If he does not promise, then it’s up to you. I don’t want your son hounding my wife. However you do it, if you can guarantee this, I will not cause trouble for you,” Yigol said.

Bob Presley’s father expressed his gratitude repeatedly: “Thank you, thank you, I really cannot thank you enough.”

Ignoring his father, Bob rose to his feet, turned around, and staggered off.

Sensing his father’s rage rekindling and fearing it would trigger Yigol’s anger, he hastily apologized: “Thank you, Mr. Novak. My son is young and naiVe.

Please forgive him. I will not let him cross paths with you again.”

After saying that, he gave Yigol a deep bow and rushed after Bob Presley, trying to support him.

Bob was too prideful to accept his help and pushed his father away, then staggered off on his own.

His father had no choice. Despite his anger, Bob was his son after all and he had to chase after him.

The sight left a bitter taste in Yigol’s mouth.

He chose not to press charges out of pity for Bob’s father, but Bob hadn’t truly admitted his mistake, leaving a lingering concern.

Yigol didn’t want to watch any longer. Clasping Suri Drew’s hand, he attempted to leave.

As they were turning around, a violent sound of tires scraping against the pavement exploded from behind them.

Yigol reflexively turned his head, seeing the car that Bob had just climbed into. This means that the car was started by Bob.

The sheer force behind the ignition alarmed Yigol, giving him a sense of impending danger.

While he had seen through Bob’s recalcitrance, he did not expect Bob to resort to lethal violence.

Though Yigol was rewarded by the System with martial arts skills, and had some basic understanding, he still could not guarantee his safety in a life-or-death scenario. His first reaction was to shield Suri from the oncoming vehicle.

But surprisingly, Suri also reacted. His first instinct was to protect her, while hers was to protect him.

Because of this, neither of them was able to move out of the way in time with the other.

It was evident that Bob intended to run down Yigol and Suri, which was an utterly insane thought.

A little too late in steering clear, Yigol was hit on the side by Bob’s car. Although it was only a minor collision, the intense impact was enough to knock Yigol over.

His leg slammed into a nearby step. He felt a sharp wave of pain surging through him.

Suri quickly helped him up. Bob’s car sped off, probably due to high speed, it hit several other cars parked on the roadside, but he did not show any intention of stopping.

With bloodshot eyes, he made a U-turn intending to charge at Yigol and Suri again.

Suri, supporting Yigol, quickly retreated to a safe area, trying to distance themselves as much as possible from where the car could possibly reach, but it seemed like they would not have enough time to escape.

Just as Yigol was about to push Suri away, someone dashed towards the car.

“Stop! Stop, I beg you,” came the voice of Bob’s father.

Yigol, ignoring everything else and bearing the excruciating pain, pushed Suri to a safe place.

A thunderous crash echoed from a short distance behind him. By the time Yigol and Suri turned around, Bob’s car had crashed into an area where several cars were parked.

Despite appearing injured, Bob attempted to struggle. But he had lost control over his limbs and the car was beyond repair. He couldn’t start it again.

“Honey, are you okay?”

“Darling, how are you?

Both of them instinctively checked on each other. After ensuring that they were alright, they heaved a sigh of relief.

Only then did they look towards where Bob’s car had crashed.

Seeing the result, they both drew a gasp. Bob had hit his own father and sent him flying.

“Honey, let’s call the emergency services quickly. Call the police and the ambulance, just to make sure no lives are lost,” said Suri, fishing out her phone.

“Darling, stay away. I’ll go check what’s happening,” Yigol Novak motioned Suri to go to a safer location while he carefully approached the area where Bob was.

He wasn’t sure about the current situation. If Bob tried something again and Suri got hurt, what would he do then?

His conscience, however, would not allow Yigol to ignore the situation.

He had barely taken a couple of steps when he almost stumbled and fell, realizing then that his foot seemed to be severely injured.

Pulling up his pant leg, he discovered a deep wound; blood was flowing out freely. The pain indicated that it might be a fracture.

“Honey, can you walk?,” asked Suri, noticing his injury. Her eyes filled with tears, she was on the verge of crying.

Yigol shook his head: “I’m fine. You call from here, stay away from there. I’ll go check the situation.”

Thanks to his martial arts training, Yigol could still manage to walk despite his severe injury.

Upon getting closer, Yigol saw that Bob’s car was horribly wrecked. Nearby, his father lay on the ground, bleeding profusely. It seemed he had hit his head. Given the amount of blood loss, it seemed unlikely he’d survive.

As for Bob, after the car had turned turtle, he too was severely injured. His head was lolling against the side of the shattered window, blood dripping steadily. His survival was uncertain.

Yigol drew a sharp breath. He had never seen someone as deranged as Bob before. It wasn’t just his own life Bob was playing with, his rash act had landed his own father on death’s door as well.

What was the point of raising a son like that?

His death would be a small price to pay. Otherwise, if someone like him were allowed to continue residing in the world, he’d continue harassing Suri, and who could predict what other crazy things he could do?

If both the father and son end up dead, just the mother would be left behind to face the aftermath. Could she handle it?

The family business, the bank’s loan, the damaged cars and so on?

Raising a child was indeed a matter of chance and a skilled task. Raising a son like Bob, what could one possibly say?

Yigol inhaled deeply. After turning off Bob’s car, he explained the situation to Suri and had her make a call for the ambulance.

As for attempting to provide first aid, that was out of the question. Yigol wouldn’t hurt anyone without reason, nor would he try and save someone like Bob. Perhaps if it had been Bob’s father who was unconscious in the car, he might have been more compassionate..
