Chapter 125

After spending so long together, Ling Xuan absolutely trusted Chu MuYun.

Ling Xuan was extremely talented and his cultivation is extremely fast. The fact that he could reach this height in a hundred years meant he truly deserves the name “little wolf dog”.

After raising him for all this time and now that they were about to separate, Chu MuYun was rather reluctant to see him go.

After all he was… so good and obedient.

Zerobaby has completely evolved into a Wrath fanboy. In the past few days, when he remembered that Chu MuYun was about to start abusing Wrath, Zero would be in a bad mood and it manifested in the fact that he talked less and lost his emoticons. Chu MuYun thought he was probably hiding in a place he couldn’t see and secretly crying.

It’s a pity that there wasn’t any way around it. This time it really wasn’t that Chu MuYun deliberately trying to torture the little wolfhound, but he needed to go arrange the sacrificial/subsitution technique. He needed to find a suitable body to house the wandering soul hooked out of Ling Xuan’s body, and he had to separate the soul from Ling Xuan’s original body. He also needed to spend a lot of time and effort nurturing this wandering soul.

{So the author’s descriptions is vague and it kind of changes from chapter to chapter, because I think she’s making it up as she writes, but basically in order to find a replacement source for the cave array which is used to trap the behemoth, CMY needs to make a replacement/fake LX.

He plans to take one of LX’s souls (in Chinese beliefs, people have “三魂六魄”: “three physical souls and six spiritual souls”) and place it in someone else so that the array will recognize them as LX. That person will sleep forever and be trapped in the cave. After that, LX will be free and won’t be affected by it.

Right now LX has temporary freedom because CMY has temporarily suppressed the array with his blood but it won’t last forever. So he needs to do this “sacrificial/substitution technique” for a more permanent solution. LX obviously has no idea what’s going on and thinks the problem has already been solved permanently.}

So he had to separate from Ling Xuan.

If he didn’t want this little wolfdog to be trapped forever, he needed to temporarily separate from him.

Because this wasn’t abuse for the sake of it, Chu MuYun was very kind to Ling Xuan.

Even though a hundred years had passed, the little wolf dog’s portrait hadn’t even lit up a corner. However, Chu MuYun didn’t feel angry at all.

Wrath was very similar to Greed. Both of them had natures that didn’t understand love. Since they didn’t understand love, then of course they couldn’t be romanced.

Greed’s nature was paranoid. He also did many wrong things but Chu MuYun still  spoiled him for so long. The little wolfhound has always been good and obedient, earnestly following Chu MuYun’s every instruction. He was clever and perceptive, learnt things very fast and was completely worry-free, so why wouldn’t Chu MuYun spoil him?

Counting the days, it just so happened to be about one hundred years. Chu MuYun spent just over half of it in the wasteland with Ling Xuan. On the one hand, he temporarily used Ling Xuan to reinforce the formation. On the other hand, it was isolated from the world and was very secluded. This land was very beneficial and suitable for cultivation practice.

Occasionally there was a shortage of supplies and during that time Chu MuYun would take advantage of when Ling Xuan was in deep meditation and had sealed his senses to go buy them on his own.

Therefore, Ling Xuan has never left this place in the past hundred years.

Now they only had a little time together left. Chu MuYun thought for a while and thought it was time to take Ling Xuan out to take a look around.

Mountains do not change and the cold seems to be endless. It did not know age or time.

But after being in the wasteland for so many years, Chu MuYun was shocked when he  walked out. Things outside had really changed a lot.

The Broken Wall Wars had been going on for a hundred years. If it wasn’t because Shen ShuiYan (Greed) and Xie QianLan (Lust) still insisting on looking for the ice spirit beast in the human world, then probably the entire realm would have fallen completely.

Because of their obsession, the human world has managed to cling on for a thousand years but how come a thousand years later…

Did they give up? They didn’t want to find Shen Yun anymore?

That didn’t seem right… Chu MuYun suddenly remembered his early days at the ZhaoMei Mountains, when he was living with Envy. During that time the Gate of Life opened and the adult Greed had walked out of it.

At that time, Shen ShuiYan had said: Ah-Yun, I’ve been looking for you for a long time.

So…. it was impossible that he had just given up.

Anyway he couldn’t make any rash assumptions right now about what had happened. Chu MuYun retracted his thoughts and took Ling Xuan into a rather lively town in the Yao Realm.

The sky was bright and the city was thriving.

There were wide streets, dense crowds, hawkers yelling about their merchandise and other noises and disputes among the hustling and bustling crowd.

Everything was strange and novel to Ling Xuan.

Chu MuYun looked at him: “Is it interesting?”

Under normal circumstances, people would be very interested in new and unknown things so that’s why Chu MuYun asked him this.

But obviously… these “normal circumstances” were not applicable to Ling Xuan.

Ling Xuan frowned slightly and replied: “It’s boring.”

Chu MuYun asked lowly: “Why?”

A trace of disgust flashed through Ling Xuan’s eyes: “They are too weak.”

Chu MuYun couldn’t help laughing. He habitually raised his hand to ruffle the wolfdog’s head… then Ling Xuan naturally took advantage of the situation and captured his lips.

Chu MuYun was startled.

Ling Xuan bowed his head and kissed him a little deeper.

This can be regarded as the tacit understanding formed between the two of them over the last hundred years.

Although Chu MuYun was a little shorter than Ling Xuan, he had always treated the other person like a child so when he was amused, he couldn’t help but play with his hair.

Ling Xuan’s red hair is beautiful in color and smooth to the touch. Perhaps because of the owner’s unruly personality, this red hair also liked to misbehave. There were always two curls on the top of his head.

But Chu MuYun’s hands always felt itchy when he saw it. He always wanted to smooth it over and as soon as he reached for it, Ling Xuan would lower his head and kiss him.

This gesture became one where Chu MuYun seemed to be asking for a kiss.

If it were on the wasteland, in that sparsely populated place, Chu MuYun would go along with him and be affectionate for a while.

But at this moment they were in the city and on a lively street. There are people coming and going all around. Although the Yao tribes’ customs were rough, right now there were a lot of humans mixed in with them in this city. Two men kissing like this, ignoring the people around them, would attract a lot of sideways looks.

Chu MuYun chuckled and pushed him away: “Don’t misbehave.”

Ling Xuan grasped Chu MuYun’s hand which was against his chest and tried to kiss him again.

Chu MuYun turned his head and avoided it: “Let’s go, I’ll take you around.”

Ling Xuan frowned in dissatisfaction. He held Chu MuYun’s hand very hard and his voice was a little dull: “It’s not interesting here. I want to go back. “

Chu MuYun turned to look at him.

Ling Xuan also looked back at him without blinking.

This really was a man who lived by instinct.

Ever since the idea of leaving had arisen in Chu MuYun’s mind, the perceptive Ling Xuan had been faintly disturbed. Maybe he himself didn’t understand what exactly was disturbing him but he still showed it unconsciously.

When Chu MuYun offered to take him to see the city, Ling Xuan’s anxiety became more apparent.

Of course Chu MuYun could feel this but he wasn’t about to point it out.

But if he wanted to comfort the little wolf dog, of course it wasn’t hard at all.

He drew Ling Xuan closer and forced him to lower his head. Then he touched his forehead, curled his lips and smiled. “Be obedient and I’ll take you to eat delicious food.”

As a pure carnivorous animal, Ling Xuan was conscious that true love was all kinds of meat.

If he ranks the things he likes the most, it probably went something like this: Fighting, Ah-Mu, meat.

Zerobaby cut in: “It’s clearly A-Mu, fighting, meat!”

Chu MuYun: “…”

Zero: ̄へ ̄

Chu MuYun understood the meaning of this expression. It probably meant: This baby is not happy. This baby is in a bad mood….

Chu MuYun said to Ling Xuan again, “We’ll go back after dinner.”

A hundred years have already passed and there are only a few short months left. Chu MuYun pondered for a while and decided that he still needed to help Ling Xuan adjust a little bit.

After finding a restaurant, Chu MuYun ordered a bunch of Ling Xuan’s favorite dishes.  Although Chu MuYun would buy them and bring them back from time to time, there was always a gap between what was freshly made and what was placed in the QianKun ring.

Chu MuYun relaxed and accompanied Ling Xuan to have a good meal.

There was wine and meat and fighting. To Ling Xuan, this was probably the epitome of a happy life.

As soon as the sky was getting dark, Chu MuYun and Ling Xuan embarked on their  return journey.

After a day of playing around, Chu MuYun was in a good mood. Chu MuYun didn’t use much energy and just strolled around with Ling Xuan.

He didn’t expect to… run into such a scene.

Two white and soft as cotton bodies were clinging together and these two members of the Yao race had no shame and were so impatient that they couldn’t wait to get it on, and right now were “en-en-ah-ah”-ing even though the sun had just gone down.

Also they were doing right out in the open wild…
