Chapter 140

This time Chu MuYun died simply and cleanly. He didn’t even see how Ye JianHan had killed him and it didn’t hurt the slightest.

However, Chu MuYun didn’t intend to delve too deeply into this. After all, Ye JianHan had committed too many evils in his life and had a lot of experience, particularly when it came to murdering people.

It didn’t hurt much when he died but it still hurt when he resurrected.

After all, the destroyed body tissue needs to be restored and this restoration process was  bound to be accompanied by agonizing pain no less than dying.

Chu MuYun was mentally prepared and, as expected, after a brief period of blankness, he felt a sharp pain that made his scalp go numb.

His heart was healing and at a speed that was visible to the naked eye. The redoubled pain ripped through him and Chu MuYun fought against it. He squeezed his fingers firmly and with so much force that he almost tore one of his nails.

At this moment, someone took his hand. The grip was soft but strong.

Chu MuYun had no time to take heed of that. For a long time, the severe pain reduced his judgment and he really couldn’t calculate anything at that moment.

The person who couldn’t bear it was Ye JianHan. So this round, he couldn’t be counted a victor but he didn’t lose either.

The pain was like a rising tide of sea water. The tumbling waves got higher and higher, bigger and bigger, becoming more and more hard to tolerate.

Chu MuYun could only bear it and just as he was mentally prepared to continue, a warm current suddenly enveloped his body.

Immediately after all the pain disappeared. This abrupt cessation was too sudden and he couldn’t help but take note of it.

Because he died so many times, Chu MuYun knew that such a wound would never heal so quickly.

And even if it was healed, it is impossible for the pain to disappear all at once. It would only fade little by little, over a long period of time.

So……

Ye JianHan had done something.

Chu MuYun understood after a little thought.

He didn’t let him feel the pain when he died and helped him share the pain after he was resurrected?

It was indeed possible to do this with the ability ‘Devour’. However, such devouring may bring along some side effects, such as pain transfer. Chu MuYun couldn’t taste it but it was now Ye JianHan’s turn to suffer.

It’s a pity that Chu MuYun couldn’t open his eyes. He was in a state of lifelessness during the recovery process. He could feel the outside world but he could not control this body for the time being.

About half an hour later, when the resurrection was over, Chu MuYun woke up.

It was late at night. Although the temperature in the room they were in was temperate, the light was quite dim. Only a fist-sized bead in the corner exuded a soft light, which was not enough to illuminate the whole room, but had an extra calming effect.

Chu MuYun focused his gaze and looked at the man next to him.

Ye JianHan’s complexion was extremely white. The paleness under this soft light was like frost and snow. It was as white as inorganic matter.

Chu MuYun frowned slightly but Ye JianHan stood up and said, “Get a good rest.”

He said this in an extra hoarse voice. The sound itched the cochlea of the ear, making people feel inexplicably distressed.

Ye JianHan turned and left. He walked very steadily but Chu MuYun still saw sharply that the black clothes he was wearing were tightly pressed against his delicate back, and there was an unnatural sheen about it,

After he realized what was happening, Chu MuYun’s pupils shrank sharply.

Then he quickly lowered his head and looked at the little water droplets which fell after  Ye JianHan’s footprints.

—This was from his body which was completely soaked with sweat.

Ye JianHan really took out the blood in his heart, so he experienced great pain. Although he retracted the blood in his heart immediately afterwards, he only just barely saved his life. It didn’t lessen the severe pain he experienced the slightest.

After that, he killed Chu MuYun and the thin, tall man. Although he didn’t know exactly what Ye JianHan had done, Chu MuYun was sure that he had not experienced the pain of his heart being torn apart.

Could it be that he hadn’t used a killing move, but used Devour instead? Used Devour to swallow his pain?

No, that couldn’t be right. Since just now when he had resurrected, Ye JianHan had clearly used ‘Devour’. So he couldn’t have used it twice in such a short span of time.

Wait, short span of time…?

Chu MuYun asked softly, “Zero, how long did it take for me to resurrect from death?”

Zero: “About…two hours.”

Chu MuYun was a little surprised: “So long?”

Zero: “Yes… it might have been even longer…” Because this baby was frightened and his computer crashed for a while.

Chu MuYun’s eyes narrowed slightly and approximately figured it out.

Two hours is more than enough time for Ye JianHan to use ‘Devour’ twice, so even though Chu MuYun was the one who died, in fact it was Ye JianHan who suffered.

But… why did he do this? Knowing that he would lose his memory, what was the point?

Chu MuYun didn’t really want to understand it but human hearts are made of flesh after all. Since Ye JianHan suffered such an agonizing experience, Chu MuYun would of course be slightly moved.

After all, Ye JianHan only fell into that kind of situation because of Chu MuYun’s deliberate maneuvers. And as for everything that happened afterwards, Chu MuYun was also the cause.

Faintly, a thought arose in Chu MuYun’s heart.

If he took the initiative to commit suicide at that time, Ye JianHan would still swallow his pain and let him die without pain.

After two or three days, everything returned to normal and Ye JianHan patiently repeated what he had said before. With a smile on his mouth, he said to Chu MuYun in his magnetic voice: “You are my lover.”

“I love you.”

Naturally, Chu MuYun wouldn’t take it seriously but he acted step by step, letting everything develop naturally.

A month’s time for these people, who have a lifespan of thousands of years, was but as fleeting as the blink of an eye.

Chu MuYun calculated the time and Ling SuYun’s resurrection could not be delayed any longer.

After observing Ye JianHan for many days, he still didn’t see anything unusual.

These days they get along very well.

Chu MuYun could clearly feel that Ye JianHan trusted him more and more, and his restraint also became looser.

After testing him a few times, Chu MuYun felt that it was time to return to the LingYun Sect.

The night was dim and he set up an array on his bed, creating the illusion that he was asleep. Then he slipped out into the darkness.

Regarding Ling SuYun’s ‘corpse’, Chu MuYun was not worried and knew that Ling Xuan would definitely take care of it. Because the little wolfhound knew that as long as Ling SuYun was there, Ling Mu would definitely come back.

Chu MuYun went to LingYun Sect and, as expected, saw the red-haired man standing holding a sword in Ling SuYun’s room.

The two looked at each other. The corner of Ling Xuan’s eyes drooped down and his arrogant attitude was suppressed. The expression in his eyes was unfathomable.

Chu MuYun didn’t waste time and said straightforwardly: “If you have something to say, we can talk later. Let me save him first.”

Ling Xuan’s thin lips pressed tightly together without making a sound.

Chu MuYun walked past him, came over to the bed and pressed his fingers on Ling SuYun’s wrist.

In the next instant, Chu MuYun’s expression changed. The spirit guide grass was not in Ling SuYun’s body!

At that moment, a familiar air current surged. Both Chu MuYun and Ling Xuan turned their heads at the same time to look at the man who slowly appeared.

Ye JianHan’s slender fingertips pinched a small emerald-green seedling. He looked at Chu MuYun with a barely visible smile: “Are you looking for this?”
