"Hey guys, slow down. We don't need to rush things out. I'm just going to leave if that's what you want. No need to be hasty," I suggested knowing that being outnumbered is really not good and even if I can beat them, that's like waging war against a whole guild. I need to get out of here.
"Ha! How about you surrender? That would ease up things," Deandre, you sone of a. What the hell's wrong with this guy? He was a like a lamb when we're with the guild leader but now, he's totally a jerk. What a kiss arse!
"Nope, sorry but the reward isn't just for me but for my whole party," There's nothing I can do here but to run.
Eh? Damn it they closed the only Gate! So they're really going for the arrest, huh. I can't escape from here. I need to do something!
The guards are slowly getting closer to me. They look strong, they wear high-quality equipment. Not bad for the guild's best guards. I want to try and test how strong they are but I don't want to get their attention either. Oh man, I've got no choice.
"DARKNESS!" I released a smokescreen around me, the darkness is getting thicker and thicker which made them blinded by the darkness. The light is being absorbed by the darkness, making the whole place really dark.
"What sorcery is this?! Can anyone see him?" Deandre shouted. Is this your first time seeing a dark spell or something?
"No, sir! We can't see anything, sir!" One of the guards answered.
"Can anyone use wind magic to clear the smokescreen?!" He ordered fiercely. Wind magic, I'd like to see you try.
"It's not working sir! The smokescreen is not tangible, wind magic doesn't affect it, sir!" It seems like they're panicking right now with overwhelming fear. This spell also reduces their sanity which causes them prone to confusion and panic. The good thing about this spell is I'm the only one who can see what's going on.
And now, let's see who's the one you said that punch like a baby.
"EXPLOSIVE PUNCH!"
*BOOOOOOM!* I punched Deandre right into his face which knocked him down to the ground but I'm not really satisfied.
"Ahhhh! What the hell?! Help me!" He cried for help because of the pain. Scream all you want but no one can help you!
"INFINITE EXPLOSIONS!"
*BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!* I punched him continuously while he's down creating massive explosions. The ground was devastated and Deandre, on the other hand, was wrecked and when I say wrecked, totally wrecked.
The guards can't still see what's happening around them. For now, I have to escape so... there's no other way but the gate so I have to make my own way.
*BAAAAAM!* I destroyed the castle gate with one punch. I'm very sorry for the repairs but I don't have the time to just open it. It's easier to create my own way.
-Light's Tavern-
I left the castle and went to the tavern and hid with the hood and cloak. With this get up they might think I'm the reaper. I hope not. But at least guards who are looking for me can't see me. If I leave the city they would just send trackers around. Too bad for them, the city is filled with crowds making them hard to find me. They said it's better to hide to a place where they won't try to find you.
"Welcome back Scy. You look happy, what happened?" The tavern keeper recognized me... And yup, I am happy after wrecking that arrogant guard.
"Oh, it's because I managed to kill the monster which I really hate," I answered and laughed.
"Well, that's nice. Just now someone attacked the Castle. And they say his name is Scythus. You have the same name, isn't that weird?" He asked trying to find answers from me. Jeez, I said my name earlier when Deandre showed up. Now my cover was found.
"I went there to get our reward from killing the giant bear and that Deandre didn't believe me. Out of the blue, he wanted to arrest me. So, I just defended myself from them. I tried to explain but he didn't listen and instead he called the guards. Jeez," I explained.
"Really? You killed the Giant Bear?! That's awesome! Well, he's a well-known jackass, so no problem. You can stay here for a while," He suggested. He's a good guy. But I don't want to stay here and not do something. I see it as a waste of time.
"Thanks for the offer but I don't want you to get involved in this nonsense. Anyway, see you later. If they still didn't catch me I'm going to return here later," I left and went outside but...
"You are surrounded! Don't move or we will kill you on the spot!" A group of guards is waiting outside of the tavern and he's correct I'm definitely surrounded.
I went inside out of panic. Jeez, how did they get here! Man, I shouldn't underestimate the guild they call the best.
They also rushed inside the tavern trying to subdue me. But the place is not really wide so they can't really attack me at the same time. This is a good spot for stopping them one by one.
"DARKNESS!" I once again used my dark spell. I unsheathe the short sword that I just bought from a shop earlier and attacked them one by one. I can't use my powerful attacks here or this place would crumble. I infused my weapon with my fire magic creating small explosions when I attack them. That's enough to destroy them. They tried to resist but they can't see a thing.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAH! HEEEEELP! Cries of every one of them can be heard inside the Tavern. People outside are terrified of what's happening. It's like a live massacre and horror but the only thing they hear is the cries for help from the dying guards. Some of the people inside also tried to help the guards to attack me but regretted they made that lousy decision.
Every slash I make, one of them hits the floor. I don't have the time to count how many of them died from my attacks. Every guard who went inside had the same fate. Well, they are really is strong but too bad... they can't see a thing but the flame of my sword. Guards are commonly defenders and warriors. Without supports to disable my darkness, they won't stand a chance against me.
I know I am doing something unacceptable from any language but they started it in the first place.
After a while, the guards from outside stopped from entering the place. They realized, they will just die if they enter like the others.
Well, that's a good thing. I'm really exhausted and I don't think I can fight anymore... I don't see any exit and there are two ways I can do, to leave this place by creating an exit or expand the darkness. I chose to expand the darkness because destroying anything would cost me a fortune. I used all the mana I have and tried to expand the darkness as wide as I can. I even almost passed out.
"Hey, tavern keeper you still there?" I asked.
"Yup. Thank you for messing the floor with blood. I'm going to charge you for that," He answered.
"Sure, sure. Anyways I'm going to leave this place now and I'll be back later to hide,"
"Sure. Don't forget to pay," Yup, I won't.
I used up all my mana and expanded the range of the darkness. The whole city became a city of darkness.
I successfully left the city unnoticed.
Holy crap, I freaking overdid it again. Jeez.
