Hello. I’m Maid.
(TL/N : oke, idk if she refer to her name or her job since the JP for Maid(her job) and Meido(her name) is same メイード)
I have been apprenticed to the Salar family since I was a child, and have been working as a maid for about 10 years. In the past few years since the old maid passed away, I have been doing various miscellaneous affairs in the mansion with Uncle Mauve, who is the same servant as me.
And i was able to have a junior this time.
Her name is Emmy. Cursed child with black hair and black eyes.
My encounter with her was so shocking that I won’t be able to forget it for the rest of my life.
On the way home from visiting the Viscountess, who governs the neighboring territory, for greeting before young lady entering the school, …we were attacked by barbaric bandits.
When madam struggled trying to buy time, Emmy appeared when the thief’s blade approached the young lady.
I was terrified and confused and had no idea what she was doing.
However, a clear and certain fact is that.
That she killed most of the bandits and saved us.
Even so.
I don’t like her very much. She is a hideous-looking cursed child. …and…no, more than that. she is a murderer
Even now, it’s still burned into my mind. The sound of the bandits’ heads popping. The way she kills bandits without moving an eyebrow.
It’s horrific.
I’m terrified of her.
To subdue them, who are clearly bandits, in fact, it is not an act that violates the law of the country. Otherwise, most of the adventurers will be criminals.
But.
She did it to help us. And it’s not like she is breaking the law.
But even so
An unreadable murderer with mysterious powers. I just couldn’t accept it.

Even though she is such a murderer, she will serve as my junior in the mansion for a month. That’s what master told me the morning after I met Emmy.
(TL/N : ok, idk what to use in here, she said “danna-sama” which means “husband”, but in this context, that is what servant usually use to refer their employer, so i decided to use “master” instead.)
…… I felt dizzy and almost collapsed.
And I doubted master’s sanity.
Master has always ridiculed himself as a poor aristocrat, it sounds Rude but it’s a fact.
However, even if the master is such a poor nobleman and is nothing more than a local civil servant, what if the fact that he hired a black-haired black-eyed cursed child becomes known to other nobles?
….. didn’t he think his position will be in danger?
It’s not mandated by law, nor is it written down in God’s teachings, but even if it is just one month, he should be well aware of how scandalous this can be to put the cursed child by his side……
But I am just a servant.
I’m not in a position to offer any opinions on master’s decision. If he tell me to do it, I have no choice but to do it.
I have to do it.
It scary though.
The first job I gave Emmy to do was mopping the floor.
Anyway, I am very good at cleaning.
That’s why it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that I am the only one of the six brothers and sisters who is being choosed at this mansion.
Therefore, it was only natural that there would be a difference in cleaning speed between Emmy, who is an amateur, and I.
By the time I had roughly finished mopping the second floor’s hallway, Emmy had barely moved on from where she had started, and was slumbering there.
I saw this as an opportunity.
Leave that area to Emmy and i’ll clean the first floor by myself. That way, i can keep my distance from that creepy kid.
Yes, I was thinking of trying…
But in the blink of an eye, I was stopped by Emmy, who closed the distance between us and grabbed my hand.
“Senpai, cleaning is amazing. It’s fast. It’s clean. Please teach me how to do it.”
Saying that, she stared at me with those deep, dark eyes that didn’t show any emotion.
…..a frog stared by a snake…..i’ve only heard that phrase, but that’s exactly how i look like right now.
This child could easily squeeze my hand if he wanted to.
She could cut my body in two… even cut my head off. Like those thieves.
I can’t say no.
That said, even if she ask me to teach her, I don’t really do anything special.
I’m just used to cleaning. It’s fast because I’m used to it.
…I, who should be a senior, wipe the floor with a rag while crying.
Somehow, it feels like our position as senior and junior is reserved, but it can’t be helped because the opponent is this terrifying cursed child.
“… Senpai’s cleaning is magic.”
That’s what she said to me, when IM cleaning the parts Emmy had left for the time being.
This is probably a metaphor.
Her words are fragmentary and sometimes word order is strange, making it difficult to understand.
Probably she mean that my cleaning is like magic since it’s so clean and fast.
“Well… thank you for your compliment.”
Saying that, I managed to make a smile.
For now, she seems satisfied.
Like that, we finished cleaning the second floor hallway.
At first,I would have liked Emmy to brushing this hallway all by herself, but can’t be help.
We will clean the first floor together.
Amazingly, Emmy saw me cleaning once and her skills improved exponentially.
There are some rough parts, but it’s still enough if you think of it as a newcomer’s job.
It’s scary. It’s terrifying.
Eventhough she is a cursed child, but if this child is here, the work will be finished quickly.
No doubt about it.
While thinking like that, i realized Emmy is disappear.
When I looked around to see where she went, i saw Emmy was clinging to the ceiling like a black bug or something, cleaning it up.
No…it’s true, I wanted to make it look pretty, too. But since it’s a high place, so I can’t reach it, and I was at a loss as to what to do.
What is this?
What is happening?
Why is she standing on the ceiling… upside down?
I do not understand what is happening.
As i thought, that child is scary……
