I didn’t think I’d ever see a human able to dodge my [Dimension Claw] like this. Continuing to close the distance, I check her status.

As Lilixira is desperately weaving between my [Dimension Claws], I swoop behind her and raise my foreleg to strike. She twists around, pointing her staff at me. Light gathers at the tip of the staff.
“I knew you would attack like this. [Holy Sphere]!”
A sphere of light shoots towards me. I swing my foreleg down. The [Holy Sphere] scatters against my claws. A crack opens in my skin, and some of my blood splatters. The damage isn’t too severe though.
I push through and slash her, knocking her down towards the ground. Her back slams against the bottom of the cliff. Her robe tears and a huge amount of blood spurts out.
The [Holy Sphere] offset the power a bit, but it still should have dealt serious damage to her. It’s true that her stats have increased, and she also has the eye that’s appeared in her forehead, which was probably how she predicted my movement. She’s even using [High Quick] to try and minimise her critical speed deficit.
But, she’s still far behind me. Even with all this, she’s only about as strong as a magic-specialised Eldia.
『…Did she not know this would happen?』
No, she must have known. That was why she used Howgrey to shield herself from me, and got Aruane to try and snatch away Aro and the others to gain a psychological advantage.
But, Volk has taken on Howgrey, and I trust Aro and the treant will be able to finish off Aruane, too.
At any rate, Howgrey and Aruane not rushing over here means Lilixira’s plan has fallen through.

By the time I see it, a crack has already formed in the clay guardian’s face. It’s the precursor to its [Direct Burst]. Lilixira used herself as a decoy, letting her summon a clay guardian behind me with [Spirit Servant]. It’s quite the devious last minute strategy.
After Eldia’s death freed a slot, she collected a [Clay Guardian] all for the sake of this single attack.
Before I can dodge, the [Direct Burst] explosion pierces my body.
I only noticed now, but… This thing’s explosion must have defence and armour-piercing properties. I can feel my body surface being blasted away, and the flesh beneath burning.

With perfect timing, Lilixira props up her bloodstained body and sends another mass of light towards shooting me. The holy light pierces through where my side where my scales have been peeled away by the [Direct Burst].
She really is impressive… She still doesn’t intend to lose to me. I didn’t think she’d be able to land a serious blow against me this late.
It’s true that if Howgrey were here, or if Aro and the others were being made to fight against me, I probably would have lost. So in the end, the difference between us came down to our allies.
