Chapter 42: Thank you for the miracle we’ve lived today.

Editor: EndlessSkyRain

It was probably about 10:30 or so, which was when I usually go to bed, but today I wouldn’t be able to at this time because we had guests.

There were ways to gather light through warding, but basically, the countryside was where people go to bed early and rise early in the morning.

I would usually be asleep by about nine o’clock after telling a fairy tale to Sapuru or Touta at about eight o’clock.

I’m in my mid-50s on the inside, but my body is still a ten-year-old child. After ten o’clock, I get sleepy.

I’d like to jump into bed as it is, but I have three nighttime habits as well as morning habits.

We have three rooms in our house, but Sapuru and Touta are still small, so they sleep together (in a bed for four) in their mom’s room.

I have my own room, but my place is basically in front of the fireplace. That’s where I feel most comfortable.

I put a fire in the fireplace. When it warmed up, I took a box off the shelf, put it on the table, and pulled out a piece of paper, a quill, and some ink from inside.

This paper was given to me by Rash, and I keep a daily habit – or rather, a daily journal.

This is a daily routine from this life, and it’s something I always send to Rash.

Well, it’s not that big of a deal, but it’s just a note about what happened today.

So it won’t take me that long. If it took long, it would be about twenty minutes at most.

I put the letter back in the box and put it on the shelf.

I got the bottle of sheep’s milk from the fridge, poured it into a pot, and put it on the fire.

When it’s nice and warm, I pour it into a cup and sipped the milk.

This was my normal from my previous life, and I drink a cup of warm sheep’s milk (it was milk in a previous life) before I go to bed, which helps me sleep better.

I drank two cups and mulled over the day until my stomach settled.

Eventually, when the drowsiness hit, I quickly went to my room and slipped into bed so as not to wake the three of my siblings.

I’m not some boy with glasses, but I can fall asleep in three seconds. So, before I fall asleep, I’m going to do my last habit of the day.

I’m thankful that I’m alive today.

Thank you for the day.

That would be the end of my day, and I’m ready for another great day tomorrow.
