Shavarma was clearly a rude and arrogant demon, but in fact, his arrogance had a basis.

Born as a high-level demon, he has raised his dungeon to C-Class for more than 500 years. Even some high-level demons trembled in his presence, and countless lives disappeared with a single gesture of his hand.

He had gotten older and weaker compared to when he was in his prime, therefore C-Class or higher dungeon masters ignored him. But even so, he was still an opponent that couldn’t be taken lightly.

As proof of this, even though Shavarma was enraged and rushed at Adelaide, there was no disruption in his form. Each and every attack he made towards her were fierce, and his aura was also unusual.

Adelaide took off all of her playfulness and went into serious battle mode. She went through a lot of training but this was her first real battle. As a result, her body flared up with energy.

He unwittingly became nervous.

“This rat b*tch!”

Shavarma let out a wild curse, clenched his claws and stretched his arm out. Adelaide quickly bent her back and moved out of his attack trajectory.

‘It’s not hard.’

She thought, contemplating Shavarma’s fighting style. He hasn’t shown much yet, so she wasn’t sure, but it was clear that Shavarma’s speed wasn’t too bad.

‘No, I think it’s pretty easy.’

Compared to Lisianthus or Lupinus’ speed, he was quite slow. Her body’s acuity has improved a lot thanks to hard work and training. Perhaps because her body got used to avoiding at least one less hit, her evasion skills improved considerably.

‘Is it worth a try?’

It felt different when she was fighting ‘monsters’ versus fighting a demon who was much less skilled than them.

She was once frightened of low-level demons and would run away, but now, she couldn’t be pushed around even when confronted by the leader of a C-Class dungeon, Shavarma. It was very thrilling that she can flatten the nose of this rude j*rk.

Soon, fighting energy flashed over her pink pupils. A fierce sense that she would win rose in her chest. Adelaide avoided Shavarma’s nails and naturally dug into the opening. She then swung her whip at once.

Tadak!

Sadly, she was unsuccessful in her attack. Just before her whip hit Shavarma’s chin, he quickly stepped back and widened their distance.

‘I was too impatient.’

Adelaide also took a few steps back and analyzed the factors of her own failure.

Yes, come to think of it, Lisianthus once warned me that the excessive desire to win sometimes leads to loss. It’s good to let the battle flow naturally, but he said that I have to judge the situation calmly.

I got too excited and focused on attacking quickly. Adelaide reflected briefly.

Shavarma’s sharp gaze turned to her. He looked like he was observing.

He didn’t want to admit it, but Shavarma noticed that the succubus in front of him had grown much more than he expected. Her movements to dodge his attacks were effortless, and her speed as she took advantage of the opening and swinging her whip was frighteningly fast.

“Why aren’t you coming? Are you scared?”

Adelaide stood still and laughed at him as he remained on guard. However, instead of rushing at her haphazardly like before, Shavarma raised his demonic energy with a calm attitude.

“No way.”

Thick demonic energy erupted from his body like an explosion. At the same time, a huge demonic sword was created over his hand.

That again? Adelaide looked at him with a disappointed face. Shavarma spoke as if he had read her thoughts.

“You don’t think this is my only power, do you?”

“Unlike you, I am a high-level demon, so I have a lot of powers.” He exclaimed triumphantly.

Soon huge fireballs materialized around him. It was like Caladium’s Hell Meteor power so she was somehow familiar with it. However, its force and the number of meteors were significantly less compared to Caladium’s. Perhaps his was an A-Class rather than an S-Class.

“Yes, I guess I only have one power. But-“

Adelaide admitted with a nod but Shavarma did not wait for her to finish her words and released his meteors. It was very rude, like a nasty old man.

“-with you, only one type of power is enough.”

Adelaide stretched out her hand as she watched the fireballs rushing at her.

A transparent veil was created in front of her. A veil that shone like jewels. It was Shavarma’s first time seeing such a thing.

Shavarma snorted at her, asking if she was just forming a shield, but he soon hardened like ice. Because he witnessed an amazing scene.

Paseuseu…….

The meteors that touched the veil soon turned to dust and began to scatter. It was so fast that more of it fell down before it was even blown away.

So when all the fireballs disappeared, dust piled up like a tomb in front of Adelaide.

‘You’re destroying A-Class powers so quickly?’

Shavarma shuddered and his shoulders trembled in shock. This is dangerous. His instinctive intuition filled his head.

His intuition grew stronger when he saw her grinning face as she stood in the middle of the scattering dust. As his manager had advised him a while ago, he needed to leave this place if he wanted to live.

‘No, it’s an illusion.’

But Shavarma was too proud to admit it. It was ridiculous to be defeated by a succubus w*nch whom he had been ignoring until now. This succubus was just one of the most sought-after toys, and did not dare pose any threats to himself.

Such arrogance and prejudice were the chronic nature of demons who had always been rulers throughout their lives. An event that he experienced in his youth could have overthrown his prejudices, but it was almost impossible to suddenly admit that he was wrong at the age of over five hundred.

Shavarma clenched his teeth and continued to release his powers. Gigantic balls of fire flew towards her again, and after that, sharp shards of ice poured down like rain.

Kwagwagwang!

“Euacck!”

Because of the wide range, some Sol Dungeon demons were hit by his powers and died. But Adelaide was unscathed. Each time she swung her hand, the meteors* became powder, and all the ice shards melted.

[T/N: The term being used kept switching: fireballs / meteors.]

‘Neutralization.’

He guessed Adelaide’s powers. Last time, she made his demonic sword disappear, and her defeating all powers like now were all characteristics of “Neutralization”.

A mere succubus was able to manifest an ability considered to be of the highest level amongst A-Class users. Shavarma gritted his teeth angrily, then ground up all the ice shards that floated around him.

If Adelaide’s power was truly neutralization, it was meaningless to continue expending power like this. It would be wasting his energy needlessly. After making a quick judgment, Shavarma injected all of his remaining demonic energy into his demonic sword.

The demonic sword, which was still large, greedily absorbed his dark energy and gradually increased in size. Tremendous energy concentrated around the black blade. It was horrendous, sucking up all the life around it.

“Euaaa!”

“N-No!”

Several mid-level demons of Sol Dungeon could not overcome the raging energy and were devoured by the demonic sword. The demons who witnessed the deaths of their comrades ran away to avoid being consumed.

“Now, let’s try that again.”

Shavarma stroked the demonic sword with a happy expression on his face, then adjusted his posture again. Suddenly, large wings fluttered behind his back.

Adelaide glared at him with a vicious expression. She already knew of his cruelty, but she couldn’t stand it because it was disgusting to see him unfazed after killing so many of his subordinates.

‘The whip is at a disadvantage in close combat.’

It would be nice if she could smash the demonic sword with her whip like last time, but it would be difficult seeing that the energy emanating from the demonic sword was far worse than before.

She thought it would be more convenient to use a sword now. A sword as hard and powerful as Shavarma’s.

She grabbed the handle of the whip tightly. Then she slowly closed her eyes.

“How dare you relax-!”

Shavarma jumped in anger, thinking that Adelaide was ignoring him. He then advanced towards her and swung his sword.

But just when the sharp blade of the sword aimed at her heart.

Flash. Adelaide opened her eyes.

Clang-!

The sound of metal hitting metal rang in their ears. At the same time, Shavarma’s white eyes fluttered wildly.

The whip in Adelaide’s hand had transformed into a long sword. A gigantic, black-bladed sword, and a handle decorated with gold. Even the evil energy swirling around the blade. It was exactly the same as his demonic sword.

“This stray cat b*tch……!”

“First a rat, then a cat. Just choose one thing.”

Shavarma was enraged, thinking that she had copied his ability.

But he soon noticed something strange about it. He clearly thought that her power was neutralization. Does this mean it wasn’t?

‘You lied about not having multiple powers!’

He naturally came to this conclusion. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to display this  many abilities.

There was no way it was a characteristic of the weapon. No matter how good the magic item was, it was impossible to copy the energy equally.

He couldn’t even imagine that the power she had manifested was a triple S-Class wish.

“What’s the difference even if you have a demonic sword!”

He screamed and swung his sword with swift movements. Adelaide was awfully displeased with copying his powers, but she thought she would be able to show the difference between their skills. The performance of the weapon itself is fundamental, but the ability of the demon using it is more important.

Jaeng-! Kkagang!

But the more their swords clashed, the paler Shavarma’s face became. His skinny arms began to tremble more and more.

‘How is she this strong……!’

Adelaide’s power transmitted from the sword was far beyond his. Neither her posture of holding the sword nor the appearance of her smoothly wielding it were like that of a demon who had never held a sword.

Adelaide, with her black wings out, opened her mouth with a bright smile towards Shavarma.

“It’s a memory. I used it a lot in the past.”

She learned a lot while getting hit by Maximilian. With dim eyes, she recalled her prime.
