Truth.

Koko looks down at the woman still attending to her leg, shining a blue light along her now sealed bruise.

“I still can’t believe that ran into, one of them.”

The doctor stops examining her and plops in a levitating blue desk chair that swivels around to a nearby desk.

“You mean, a Patroller, or a Ya’valtian?”

Koko clasps her hands together with a sullen expression. “W-well, both, really. I’ll never tell the Cap this, but I... I lost control. I had a clean shot at her head and I took it… Maybe if I were a bit more disciplined then this would’ve never…”

The doctor sighs and places down her laser scalpel onto a glass template. “We all have our demons, Koko, it’s what makes us empathize with others. As long as you remember to keep others' feelings into account, then we can continue to grow both emotionally and mentally.”

She then turns around in her chair, the long black trench coat resting on her red-turtleneck shirt and stopping a few inches below her gold-laced belt and skin-tight leather pants fluttered with her for a brief movement. Her curvaceous figure was complimented by her plump lips starting to curl into a smile.

“… You got me?”

Koko nods her head and sets it back down onto her pillow.

“Where is the girl anyway? Heard she was like young, like, young-young for a Patroller. What’re we talking, early twenties?” The doctor swiveled back in her chair.

The mechanized door in front of Koko’s bed shoots up with Miya standing on the other side. Maxim at her side salutes the doctor and walks down the steps leading to the lower terminal.

Miya walks into the room, observing its entirety with narrowed eyes. Koko leans up and opens her lips, but forces back whatever words she was tempted to say.

“You can keep the jacket as long as you need. I just need my Patroller’s badge that was equipped to… The front…”

Miya’s sentences become slowed as the doctor continues to survey her up and down with raised eyebrows.

“This is what you guys meant by young? S-She’s practically a child! Who would send this delicate small thing anywhere?”

Miya’s eyebrows scrunch down as she looks to the floor. “I’m just here for my jacket, lady.”

“No, no. Lady, won’t do. My name’s Dr. Vivienne Schwerner, but please just stick to Vivi. The last person to use my full name was my late parents.” Vivi chuckles.

She then raises from her chair and takes the uniform jacket from atop Koko’s leg. Miya tilts her head past the woman and looks at Koko’s fully healed limb.

“If you're concerned, she’s fine now, thanks to you.”

Miya looks up at Vivi now offering her the jacket. Miya smacks her teeth and snatches the jacket from her and turns around.

“Never cared, just wanted to make sure nothing was left there.”

Vivi laughs with a hand up to her mouth as she turns around in her chair and continues her work. “No need to lie to me, any on-the-spot medical personnel would be interested to see how their work turned out. How did you get the bone back into place? Did you have a mastipulator, or maybe utilized a suture needle?”

Miya inches around back toward her with her eyes pinned to the floor. “No… None of that stuff… I just kind of, pinned it back into place with my hands on either side of her leg…”

Vivi turns around with a raised eyebrow and nods her head. “Interesting! And quite impressive that they weren’t any ruptures or bone-scarring in the process. You must’ve been very thorough and precise.”

“I wasn’t sure it would work as well, that’s why I injected her with some VMO-14 and cruno-foam for any surface tears.”

“Hmm… I’ve never heard of either of those medicinal appliers. Would you mind if I could take a look at them sometime before you leave out?”

Miya grins and nods her head several times. “Sure, sure! And in return could you instruct me on how I can better repair obstructed bone repairs with the use of… Future… Or—Ah… Pulator…”

“Suture Needles and Mastipulators, dear. And don’t worry, that’s a class you’re already enrolled in. I’ll call for you once I have some time on my hands.”

The sparkles in Miya’s eyes fade as she turns to Koko now sitting at the head of her bed, having a shocked expression.

“So you can have conversations without a mean look, or calling people names,” Koko murmurs.

Miya’s cheeks burn red as she turns from Koko back to Vivi. “Y-you tricked me! Making me talk through generalized and alike interests while gathering information for your master plan! Manipulative! Trickery! False sense of judgment!”

Vivi chuckles and raises her scalpel toward her with a chilling gaze. “Yesss…! You’ve found me out…! I really want to dissect you and take out all of your organs and replace them with fruit!”

“Fruit! … Fruit? What! That makes no sense—“

“Also, the clothes, do they fit you? Is the style okay?”

Miya looks at her reflection in the window to her right. Her urban outfit consisted of an all-black undershirt being covered only by a v-shaped white hood stopping at her upper chest but growing longer at her backside. Two long straps of black polyester connected her shirt to her black pants clad in hexagon-gridded metal plates, while her shoes were a pair of black spongy high-tops.

“Yes, it’s alright. Who’s are they so I can thank them properly?”

Koko’s eyes widen as she looks toward Vivi.

“Someone very precious to me… Ah! But never mind that, let my thanks be you showing your clothes to Ashihei. He should be in his study.”

“If that’s the type of transaction you prefer, I’ll perform it in haste.”

Vivi turns back around, her smile starting to fade. “Thank you. I think someone’s waiting for you outside the door.”

Miya turns her head to Loliel leaning on a metal railing outside of the room with her back turned. She rolls her eyes and walks outside of the sliding door.

The door slides shut and Koko looks over to Vivi's backside still tinkering on her medical desk.

“Uh… Are you… Ok, Vivi?”

Vivi rubs through her hair with a short nod. The buzzing from her cutting laser being her only answer.
