Secrets.

The sky was pitch black, with small gray clouds barely covering the penetrating luminescence of the overhead moon and stars. If one were to squint, one could see that there were multiple balls of blue, orange, and pink in the distance; Making it evident that the planet had multiple moonlets in its orbit.

With a rusted and discontinued industrial plant now in view, Miya steps in front of towering white gates blocking off the entry and knocks on the door. A small camera on one of the sentries turns and enhances onto her before the white gates move apart with a metal squeak.

Miya walks down the dirt path and stops in front of the bunker dipping down into the earth. She then sits down at the start of the ramp and slants her knees upward so that she could rest her arms onto them.

The door to the bunker starts to tinker open with a set of loud whirs and bright lines of light emitting from the inner moving mechanisms. Then, a young woman wearing an all-black military uniform with yellow outlines and a holographic metal face mask walks from the inside.

Loliel steps over to Miya's side and turns around, sitting a few inches beside Miya. “You know you could’ve come in. Dr. Schwerner and the others prepared a meal for your arrival.”

Miya scoots a few inches away with a click of her teeth. “Don’t care. I just came here to tell you that—“

“I heard that you and Dr. Yamaguchi talked before you left to fight that… Thing...”

“I don’t really recall what he was rambling about, but he did say something regarding a name of some sort…”

“Yes, maybe Valerie.” Loliel answers.

Miya turns her head to the side while crossing her arms beneath her bent knees. “He looked kind of sad… Why was that?”

Loliel stands from the ground and turns around to face the plant's broken-down industrial buildings. “You should’ve already known that a few years ago that the Ya’valt came here and attempted to kill us all off.”

Miya nods her head.

“Well, that’s not all that happened. I was little at the time so it didn’t occur to me, but the earth’s gravitational pull, trajectory, and axis turned on itself.” Loliel states.

"We were separated by the earth breaking into a large catacomb... She fell while trying to save some people from a collapsing building. We tried going through the rubble but it was too late, a few days later it all plunged into the abyss and we just assumed that, that, has been her resting place."

“I don’t get what you mean. 4056-E has always been in Sector 8 of the Ragath galaxy. How could you have not learned thi—“

“It wasn’t here! My father was a well-known astrophysicist back then, he’s been studying the stars, and the weird moons surrounding our planet and it’s all foreign! It’s like… It’s like we’re not even where we once were. Like we were transported somewhere completely different.”

“What’re you on about? Is this why you wanted that list of info you gave me? I didn’t think it was for such a naive reason…” Miya yawns.

“This is something that we've been researching for years now, and my father's and mother's meticulous calculations are never wrong.” Loliel retorts.

A short ding comes from Miya’s neck device, causing her to place a hand on it and then swipe her finger through the air. Several blue holo-screens scan through documents, images, and charts with a small loading-bar whizzing at the bottom.

The bar then completes, with all the screens closing and materializing a glowing-blue slender drive that Miya catches in her palm.

“Hm, that was fast. Didn’t he say it would be a few hours?” Miya contemplates while surveying the data drive.

She then hands it over to Loliel, who holds it in both her hands.

“What’s this supposed to be?”

“Are you dense? You asked me to recover that stuff you sent me, and there it is. Now… About my side of the deal—“

Loliel’s eyes light up before dashing down the ramp and huddling into the chained-off elevator.

“H-hey! Don’t run off like that! Where are you going?” Miya shouts while running after her.

She then slides past the closing gate to the shaft, barely grazing the metal edges as the escalator starts to descend.

Miya picks herself up from the floor with a huff. “You have… You have a lot of nerve just running off like that! What’s the matter with you?”

Loliel looks down at the drive, her hands trembling with it tight in her grip. “This could… This could finally answer what happened that day… The day that she…”

The elevator then stops with a clank and moves forward until reaching a large metal hatch that shoots up into the air. Loliel rushes down the stairs and into the main corridor of the underground bunker.

“… Come on sis, that all ya’ got?”

“… Dammit! How are you doing all of those aerial attacks? You’re cheating!”

The main corridor was consumed with the blasting sounds of a fighting game played on a large holographic screen. In front of the brimming lights was a curved white couch sitting Adelae and Maxim as they mashed on two controllers.

Koko and Kyamyo sat on the other side of the couch talking amongst themselves, with Vivi and Ashihei engaged in their own conversation at a small black-oak bar at the back of the room filled with floating glass alcoholic beverages.

Loliel walks in front of the game and brushes two fingers to the side, flicking the screen away.

Maxim gasps and throws his controller on the side of the couch. “Hey I was about to whoop her—“

Loliel looks back at him with a glare, causing him to slump down in his seat. “Y-yeah, whatever. She was gonna lose anyway.”

She then turns her attention back forward, placing the data drive into a black interface on the side of the wall. A group of screens blinks around the room, with multiple charts, videos, and documents in view.

Vivi turns around in her high chair with a bright smile. “Ah, welcome back little Ms. Space Patroller. We’re glad you’re alright, you gave us quite the scare.”

The rest of the room turns to Miya, now with her back pinned on the wall next to the exit hatch with crossed arms.

“Miya is just fine. I came because she didn’t give me an answer, not willingly.” Miya answers while turning her head away.

Koko and Kyamyo turn to Adelae, giving Miya a distasteful glare.

Vivi sets her bar glass down and nods her head. “Well, you’re back nonetheless. Which makes me happy.”

Loliel continues to scour through the documents, sliding them side by side. Her eyes then widen as she pulls down a wider screen with a scribble of text in a foreign language.

“Whats… What’s all of this Loliel?” Ashihei asks, placing down his drink and looking up at the diagram of planets aligning themselves on a wider screen.

Loliel turns around to Miya and points to the screen in front of her. “Do you know what language this is?”

Miya sighs and walks down the steps. “You’re asking for a lot here. Maybe I should just extend my token of the bargain and…”

Her eyes dart past a set of documents lingering in the air, and grabs an interface while scrolling down the list.

“… What the... What is all of this?”
