Although he didn’t like it that much, Cai Youyang had another lascivious weekend.

Come Monday, he felt sleepy during the regular meeting. As a colleague secretly nudged him, the vice principal spoke up!

Cai Youyang quivered and quickly became wide awake.

The vice-principal cleared his throat. “Some teachers are quite lazy at work. Doesn’t participate in the morning exercise and is absent-minded to the point of dozing off! I greatly detest such behavior! If I have to say, if you just want to idle away your time, don’t come to our Hongxing Primary School. Since you’re here, you should set an example, exhibit proper behavior, and be able to bear hardships…”

Subjected to several gazes of appraisal, Cai Youyang had an emaciated look on his face. He hadn’t even realized that the vice principal was already staring at him.

Or that “some teachers” was entirely directed toward Teacher Cai Youyang!

After the meeting, the year-level supervisor approached Cai Youyang, saying that he hoped he could “know shame and be courageous.” However, this was only for official purposes. When they “happened to meet” in the bathroom, the year-level supervisor specially called out to him. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to defend him. This newly instated vice principal was starting his second round of fire, this time targeting their year level. He wanted to shield Cai Youyang from the thunder, but at the moment, he just couldn’t!

Cai Youyang was a mere teacher who taught classes. He didn’t possess any management position within the school. His teaching achievements weren’t eye-catching either. He believed that the supervisor wouldn’t make things hard for him. The vice president was determined to conduct some undertaking. If he wanted to conduct it onto him, then what could the supervisor do about it?

Cai Youyang thought to himself, he had to tuck his tail between his legs this time. Man proposes, but God disposes. The next day, he taught a class in proper order. The vice-principal silently entered the classroom, took a black book, and sat down in the last row of the classroom, listening to the lecture with complete seriousness.

Cai Youyang shivered. Looking at the vice-principal caused him to remember his homeroom teacher who hid by the back door of the classroom during his student days. He got goosebumps all over.

The trauma was too deep.

He feigned calmness and composure as he proceeded to finish the class lecture. One minute before the end of class, he put away his textbook, raised a smile, and prepared to introduce today’s “new friends” to the students.

He had thought it over. All these little cuties in his class could especially cheer. After his introduction, they would applaud loudly. No matter how stone-hearted the vice principal was, the children’s innocent smiles should be able to melt him.

Who would have known that before he could speak, an incident broke out?

Cai Youyang saw the vice-principal suddenly rise to his feet with his hands on his back. He took a few steps forward until he stood right behind a boy.

Cai Youyang’s eyebrows twitched, and he hurried down the podium. As he grew closer, he saw an illustration of a boy and a girl kissing spread out on top of the boy’s textbook on his desk!

It turned out to be a non-academic book whose cover had been wrapped in that of a textbook.

Cai Youyang’s eyes turned gloomy.

The vice-principal shot him a glance. He then reached out to pick up the book, put it in his bag, and walked away without looking back.

The little boy who showed no reaction the entire time: “…”

The unaware and confused students: “???”

Teacher Cai, who sensed an imminent disaster: “…”

Cai Youyang glared at the boy, disappointed at him. He spoke, “Class is over” before following after the vice-principal.

The vice-principal didn’t return to his office. Instead, he grabbed the book and headed for the homeroom teacher’s office.

The vice-principal slapped the book onto the homeroom teacher’s desk. “I found this in your class!”

The homeroom teacher picked it up and turned it over. Oh, a romance novel.

Cai Youyang hurriedly arrived and said, “Blame me! I usually encourage students to read more non-academic books…”

The vice-principal coldly said, “Your accounts will be settled later. Teacher Wu, how will you deal with this matter?”

The homeroom teacher smiled and said, “It’s normal for children to feel curious about such matters. I think the class meeting this Friday can be used for sex education.”

Cai Youyang gazed at the unperturbed Teacher Wu in admiration. It was no wonder the person could become a homeroom teacher.

The vice-principal grew angry. “That’s it? Teacher Wu, you’re looking after a graduating class! This is a critical period! Is Chinese literature class not important? To dare read miscellaneous books during class, to still read romance novels! Let’s not talk about issuing disciplinary action or recording demerits. Are you not even going to circulate a notice of criticism about this? Inviting the parents for a talk is a must, okay? You can’t show such an attitude to the students! Unhealthy tendencies and malignant social trends must be stopped!”

Teacher Wu said, “I understand how you feel. You’re thinking for the sake of the students. But in my opinion, this can be educated. Inviting the parents or circulating a notice of criticism is unnecessary.”

Cai Youyang blankly looked on as the blue veins on the vice principal’s cheek burst out. He hurriedly said, “Principal, we must take this matter more seriously. Rest assured.”

The vice-principal shot him a sullen gaze. “Take it seriously?”

Cai Youyang pasted a ruthless expression on his face. “Confiscate the book!”

The vice-principal: “…”

Cai Youyang gritted his teeth. “Make him write a self-reflection! 1000 words!”

The vice-principal: “…”

Cai Youyang gestured a “two,” his hand trembling. “2000?” After all, this was just a grade-schooler. They couldn’t give too much…

The vice-principal thought that he didn’t understand the gravity of this matter at all. Completely outraged, he slapped the table and shouted, “You both don’t need to worry! Ten thousand words per person! Give them to me tomorrow!”

Cai Youyang: “…”

Teacher Wu: “^_^”

The vice-principal took the romance novel before leaving in a rage.

Cai Youyang: “…”

Teacher Wu: “I’ll go greet the student’s parents first.”

Cai Youyang thought about that little boy. He was usually quite obedient. He wouldn’t have expected that his parents would be called all because he was caught reading a romance novel. After Cai Youyang got home, he shared this with Lu Feng and commented that the vice principal was overreacting.

Lu Feng said, “I’ll help you arrest him.”

Cai Youyang was scared out of his wits. “Have you become the domineering president type now?”

“There’s nothing I can do about what you said otherwise.”

Cai Youyang felt depressed. It turned out he was trying to make him get over it.

“You’re usually too lax in managing the students. Such strict leadership might not be a bad thing,” said Lu Feng.

“If I were to see a student reading novels in class, I would also speak with them.”

“Will speaking with them do anything?”

“What else then?” said Cai Youyang. “It’s not that big of a deal.”

Lu Feng said, “Children have no self-control, and they aren’t sensible. As teachers, you should be supervising them. Admission into middle schools is very competitive nowadays. You should take this issue into consideration since you’re handling a graduating class. The vice principal’s punishment may be too much, but you’re also playing this down too much.”

Cai Youyang could admit that what he said was a bit reasonable. But he had his own teaching philosophy. Was education through the threat of punishment really useful? Not necessarily.

One insisted on the importance of an all-rounded education, while the other emphasized the difference between elementary education and higher education. Elementary teachers shouldered the important task of laying a good foundation for the students. Oftentimes, they had to be stern and be the bad guys.

Neither could persuade the other. After arguing for a long time, Lu Feng didn’t want to continue talking about this anymore.

Lu Feng said, “Let’s sleep. You still have class tomorrow.”

“Since you’re siding with the vice-principal, go sleep with him instead,” responded Cai Youyang.

Lu Feng furrowed his eyebrows. “We were having a rational discussion. Don’t bring personal feelings into this.”

“I’m very rational.” Afterward, Cai Youyang shut the bedroom door.

Lu Feng: “…”

After waiting for quite a while, he headed over. The door was still closed.

Lu Feng was about to enter when a pillow and a quilt were thrown at him.

The door was then closed again.

Lu Feng tossed the pillow and the quilt in his arms onto the sofa before turning back to knock on the bedroom door.

“Teacher Cai,” said Lu Feng. “Please act a bit more mature.”

On the other side of the door, Cai Youyang replied, “My student is about to be given a notice of criticism. I’m not in the mood to sleep with you!”

In a cold tone, Lu Feng said, “I only want to statically sleep with you on the bed. You don’t need to worry.”

“That won’t do. I have such good looks. How can you stand only lying down on the same bed together? I have to wrong you, and let you sleep on the sofa!”

Lu Feng went livid. Seemed he still didn’t know Cai Youyang well. It was clearly because they had disagreed with each other that Cai Youyang was now taking it out on him. Already this big, and yet still acting like a child.

“I’m not going to tolerate you this time.” Lu Feng kicked at the door.

As the door softly rattled, the tips of his toes remained pointed at the door.

Lu Feng stared at the door, mind filled with scenes of going together to the furniture store to pick things. Afterward, he couldn’t bring himself to kick the door.

This door cost a few thousand yuan. It would be a pity to kick it down, he thought with a cold face. He pocketed his wallet and his phone before heading out.

Not letting him into the bedroom? He wasn’t a henpecked husband. He wouldn’t sleep on the sofa.

As Lu Feng climbed down the stairs, he thought he should really sort out his insensible wife. Then at this time, he encountered his neighbor from the apartment across from theirs.

“Going out to buy a midnight snack?” asked the neighbor. He always saw him bringing some huajia back to his apartment.

Lu Feng shook his head. Very quickly, he found some excuse for himself, saying, “Off for a walk at the public square.”

“Hey, what a coincidence,” said the neighbor. “Stalls have been set up at the public square. It seems to be a food festival. I just passed through there, and there were many stalls.”

Lu Feng was stunned. “They sell huajia?”

The neighbor laughed. “I knew you were going to ask this. You can go check it out yourself to see if they do or not.”

Lu Feng nodded. In any case, he was going out. It would be better to go check whether they had huajia or not.

Then after buying, bring them back, and eat them at the door of the bedroom to see if he’d let him in.

Lu Feng remembered that he had once promised Cai Youyang to buy him huajia, but he broke it. At that instant, he quickened his pace.
