"Are you sure you want to stay here? Why don't you want to stay at my place?" he asked for the tenth time. He did not want her to go back to her place, preferring for her to be at his place instead. Weren't they already back together? So, shouldn't they live together under one roof now?
"Hmm…" she reached for her bag and took out her house key. She did not want to waste time in front of her house searching for the key. And it always at the bottom of the bag each time. She smiled as she fished out the key.
"Do you want me to accompany you? It must be lonely up there alone," he asked, still not giving up.
"Oh, shut up," she muttered and opened the door. She turned to look at him, chuckling seeing the pout on his handsome face. Why was he being so childish suddenly? It did not match with his career as a popular singer and a successful businessman.
"You should go and work on whatever you should work on," she said with a twitch of her lips. She tried not to laugh at his funny expression.
"I still think it is better for me to accompany you," he mumbled.
"You…" she leaned into the car and cupped his face with her hands. Then, without a warning, she kissed his lips gently. Her hand caressed his nape gently as she pulled back her lips from his. She smiled.
"Behave yourself, babe. I'll see you tomorrow?"
He blinked for a few times. Did they… did they just kiss? She actually kissed him?
He wanted to continue back the kiss but she already pulled herself from him. She straightened up and grinned. "Bye, babe."
Without waiting for his response, she closed the door and went up to the elevator, giggling. She was happy to see his shocked face. She was also happy to see he was working hard to get back to her. And he was so patient with her, unlike the time when he always jealous of everyone and everything. It drove her nuts when he tried to control her and when she refused to follow his orders, they would argue. She hated their arguments a lot. It gave her so much stress she felt like ending her life.
Her phone rang when she just stepped out of the elevator. She looked at the screen and chuckled to see his name.
"What is it?" she asked.
"I forgot to say something," he said.
"What is it?" she frowned. Did they forget something? Did she leave something in the car? Should she go down?
She turned and prepared to do so.
"I love you." And he ended the call without waiting for her reply.
It was her turn to blink her eyes a few times in a shock. She lowered the phone from her ear and looked at the screen. It showed the call has ended. The call did not last for five minutes before he hung up.
What was that all about?
So childish. So adorable. So lovely.
It felt like when they just started. And she loved it. She loved it so much.
She was grinning when she unlocked the door of her home. She entered the house and turned to lock the door. Then, she walked to her room, still grinning.
She has a day off tomorrow before she needed to start working back. Luckily for her, these two weeks her work around the city. And then, she would start travelling back into other states or countries.
And she planned to use the time to get her driving licence. She believed she could pass the test in one take… as long as she did not freak out during the driving test. She did not have a problem with the eye test and the writing test. Only the last part which was the driving test made her a bit worried.
Tomorrow, apart from spending the time with Mika and Jeremy, she also needed to meet with Mei Li. It had been so long for her to meet her manager and she needed to discuss her work. She also needed to make sure she did not miss any job especially from those she becomes the spokesperson with.
She dropped her bag on the floor and went to the wardrobe to get a towel. She sighed a bit seeing all the dust covering almost everything. It seemed like if she wanted to spend time with Mika and Jeremy, she needed them to come here or she would rearrange the time for the meeting. She should tidy up her place first before she does everything.
Maybe she should start now, her heart whispered.
She cancelled her plan to take a shower and went straight to the kitchen where she kept the broom and the cleaning equipment.
"I'll just do a light dusting and then have my shower and sleep," she said loudly, planning what she should do today.
She grabbed a cloth and the spray bottle. She refilled it with water and add the 'secret recipe' her mother created for cleaning the furniture. She shook the bottle as she walked to the living room. She would 'attack' the living room first, and then go to the guest room, then to her bedroom and lastly the kitchen. In a way, she would have no need to return back to the kitchen to keep the tools if she ended the cleaning flow at the kitchen.
Without even thinking, she switched on the radio and let the catchy music filling the room. It had been long for her to listen to the radio. She chose her favourite radio channel and smiled. It seemed like Lexie has produced another catchy song. She could recognize his voice anywhere.
"Alright, time to work," she told herself and started to rub off all the dust on the furniture. At a time like this, she was grateful to be a minimalist and has not many furniture. It would not take a lot of time for her to dust everything.
And she was right. She spent only an hour and a half to dust everything. She kept back everything she used and drank a glass of water. Finally, she could have her rest.
"Great. I need to take my shower first," she murmured. Her shoulders dropped down. She was tired from all the cleaning. She even swept the floor!
"Well, at least I don't have to clean tomorrow," she told herself. It actually cheered her up and even gave her the energy to grab a towel and make her way to the bathroom for a super quick shower.
She could not wait to go to sleep.
