"I forgot to ask," Mika suddenly spoke, breaking Ryn's thought.
Ryn stopped and looked at her with a cock of an eyebrow. She seemed impatient but it did not scare Mika. Instead, it only made the younger woman chuckled.
"Is there a restaurant still open this late? I mean, for delivery?" Mika asked.
"Of course," Ryn answered immediately. "Four restaurants and four burger stalls. And McDonald"
"Ah…" Mika nodded dumbly. Maybe because she lived in another area than Ryn, she did not notice about this service. Besides, when she was living with her brother, she did not eat for supper because she was afraid of gaining weight. And if looking back, she mostly spent the night at the mansion or with Jason. And Jason always made sure she was full before they called it a night. In the mansion, the cook always prepared extra snacks and desserts for any of them to eat when the mood struck. But the main important was, it was hard for Mika to eat supper. She needed to watch over her weight carefully.
"What time…" Mika's question was cut off abruptly when Ryn's phone rang. She cocked an eyebrow seeing Ryn behaving like a cheetah jumping to her phone on the dining table. Mika did not know her best friend who was so bad in sport could jump that high and far.
"Hello…ah… J?" Ryn's face changed when she heard his voice. Apparently, he was not the one she was waiting for. Then, she realized someone else was there and saw her expression. She gulped and looked at Mika apologetically. It was not that she did not welcome Jeremy's call but…
Mika shrugged and went to the television to switch it on. She had nothing in mind to watch but it was better than making Ryn feeling uncomfortable when answering the call from that stupid brother of hers. She scowled at the thought of Jeremy kept interrupting her time with Ryn. It felt like this brother was trying to control Ryn like she was a possession, not a person.
She really did not like this at all. But she could not speak it out loud. It would hurt Ryn's fragile feelings. She did not care about her brother's feelings. All she cared about was Ryn. Only Ryn.
She would do everything for Ryn and she knew Ryn would do the same thing for her.
Ryn went to her bedroom to have some privacy. She knew Mika would help to accept the food once the delivery man came. She closed the door and sat at the edge of the bed.
"Hey, you. Why aren't you sleeping yet? It's already late at night," she asked, noticing how late it was. Why wasn't he sleeping? He was always busy with work and he needed all the rest to recharge his body and mind.
"Ah…" truthfully, Ryn was taken aback by the sudden 'confession'. Why was he acting clinging like this? It seriously felt weird.

She pondered silently. When she thought about it again, when did she remember about him? Today she was busy with her work. And then, her time was full of accompanying Mika shopping. Right now, all she could think of was eating. Not once did she remember about a man whom she accepted as her boyfriend.

"I miss you," she lied… "But… you know how busy I am nowadays."
"I know…" he said slowly.
She sighed. Compared to last time, she could not muster much excitement and longing in her voice. She was too exhausted and hungry to care about anything else!
"Love…" he called her with one of the pet names he chose for her.

"Are you at home right now?"
"Hmm… I just arrived home," she replied honestly. But she did not say about Mika being with her or the fact almost half of her day was taken by Mika. She did not want to hurt his feeling.
"Oh… What's your schedule for tomorrow?" he asked. Today he did not manage to spend time with his love. He was hoping tomorrow she could give him some of her time to spend together.
"Err… I need to check," she replied. Her mind was blank and she could not think right now. Her stomach was growling for food.
Where the heck was her food?
"Are you… preparing to sleep now?" he asked when he did not hear her voice anymore.
She gulped. She was not doing that even though her body was screaming for her to lie down on the bed and go to sleep. She was too hungry to do just that. Waking up with an empty stomach was pure torture and she definitely hated that. She always had a bad mood when she woke up hungry.
"Hmm…" she was scared if she used words to answer, he could guess she was lying through gritted teeth. Why was he still not saying good night and goodbye?
"Will… will you dream about me tonight?" he asked hopingly.
She let out a sigh. Why would he ask this question? How old was he? He was being childish and clinging.
And she felt weird.
"J…" she started before yawned loudly. It was not a fake. She really did feel sleepy. "I'm so sleepy. Can we talk tomorrow?"

"Goodbye, my love. Sweet dream. Good night," he said finally, unwilling to end the call but he did not want her to be angry at him.
"Good night," she replied and tapped the button to end the call before him. Then, she dropped the phone onto the bed and went out.

When she reached the living room, she saw Mika holding a plastic bag. Ryn's eyes widened and her lips curled into a huge smile.
Finally, she could eat her supper.
"Are you done talking with Jeremy?" Mika asked as she brought the food to the kitchen. She knew Ryn was following her.
"Hmm…" Ryn took a huge bowl to put her fried noodle. She nodded her approval when seeing the lack of vegetables in her food.
"Oh, I wish I have eggs," she murmured sadly.
Mika's brow twitched at the remark. This best friend of hers did not even care about her weight. Not only she chose to eat so late at night, she even chose fried noodles with so much meat. And do not let her start with the vegetables. Was it so hard eating greens? Why would Ryn take vegetables as her worst enemy? It did not make sense at all.
"It's already too much to eat for supper, Ryn. Aren't you worried you will get stomachache eating too much?" Mika asked.
"Fine," Ryn mumbled. She took a pair of chopsticks to eat her noodle. She did not make her drink because Mika was already pouring a glass of water for her. Both went to the dining table.
"Are you going to be alright watching me eating? Do you want some?" Ryn asked when Mika took the seat facing her. She felt weird eating on her own with Mika watching her.
Mika shivered to see the mountain of meat on top. Ryn managed to find all the meat and piled them on top. A talent but a scary one to see by a dieter. Luckily her stomach already full or she would fall into the trap and lose herself in the fattening food.
"No. No need. You can eat it all," Mika said hurriedly. She would not fall for that. Her determination and motivation to keep hold onto her diet was still strong. Her wedding was getting closer and she did not want not to fit into her beautiful wedding dress and the special dress for her wedding reception. She also wanted to look her best in her wedding pictures. Her grandmother already told her that the media would cover her wedding so she needed to stay fit for that special day.
And most importantly, she did not want Jason to see her belly or thigh chubby during their wedding night. She already bought a gorgeous nightgown and knew only a slim and fit her could wear it prettily. And Jason deserved it for being so patient for these past years.
