"Can you send me to Harry's place?" Ryn decided to ask for Mei Li's help. At first, she thought she should take a taxi to go there but now it seemed more suitable for her to bring Mei Li along.
Besides, Mei Li is also Harry's manager. They could go visit him together to check up on his condition.
"Do you know his address?" Ryn asked. She forgot to ask Angela just now. She thought she would go there later after discussing with Mei Li but who knew she would have a fight with Jeremy instead.
Who knew this would happen? No one. Not her nor Jeremy. She bet Jeremy did not expect them to have this fight when they woke up this morning.
"I..." Mei Li winced when she realized she has his address but it was at the office, in his file. She did not remember to put his address on her phone. And now...
"I'll ask his aunt," Ryn said, could guess the answer when she saw the wince. She did not blame Mei Li, though, knowing perfectly how busy Mei Li was and she never had any reason to set all her models' addresses on her phone. Until now.
Ryn did not have to wait long, though. Less than five minutes later her phone cried a notification informing her a message came in. She quickly tapped her phone to read the message loudly.
"Can't you just put it on the map?" Mei Li requested. She did not think she knew how to go there without any help.
Ryn nodded. She fumbled with her phone, struggling to get the address set on the map. She was still not used to this thing. Usually, the others would do it for her. After a while, she managed to do it and put the speaker on so the map could give instruction loudly.
And then, both kept quiet. Only the sound from the speaker accompanied them.
Ryn threw her sight out of the window but she actually saw nothing. Her mind was busy thinking about her relationship. About her life. Like she mentioned earlier, she was tired. She was tired of arguing with Jeremy. She was tired of trying to understand Jeremy but he did nothing. She loved him. She truly loved him from the bottom of her heart but kept pulling herself from trusting him completely.
Maybe this was the reason why she kept the wall around her heart rather stubbornly even though she knew the only man who owned her heart was him. Despite loving him, her heart was still unsure of trusting him completely. She thought she could learn to give herself to him completely slowly. She told him she needed time for their relationship and he agreed to give her time. He did say he wished she could love him like she used to but the wall was too thick for him to get through.
This insecurity actually helped her not to be blinded again from love. She did not give herself completely to him so the pain this time was not as serious as last time. She felt hurt. She felt the pain in her heart when they argued. But...
Mei Li glanced at her when she did not hear anything or see any movement coming from her. She sighed when she saw Ryn already asleep. The poor girl was too exhausted from all the drama.
She followed the direction from the map, widening her eyes when she saw where they were heading. No wonder Harry did not mind not having jobs and only picked whatever grabbed his attention. His family was so wealthy. The area they were heading to was one of the premium areas where only super-rich families live. She never came to this area before. Too poor and too... unfortunate.
Mei Li glanced at Ryn, wondering how lucky this girl was to know so many rick people without even trying. Of course, she did not think that Ryn was a golddigger. She only thought that Ryn's luck was enormous. What did she do in her past life to get this life?
But then again, Mei Li did not envy Ryn's life. Seeing how miserable she was having to face Long's siblings made her realize that each person deals with a different kind of challenge. No one lives so peacefully and happily without having to face something.
Life was challenging as it was.
They spent the journey quietly, each with each own's thought.
The car stopped at the security post. Mei Li lowered her window and told him their destination. It took seconds for them to be allowed to get through. Apparently, Angela or Mrs. Si, her sister-in-law already told the guard to let them in.
"Wow..." Mei Li could not help from gaping as the car moving slowly passing the huge mansions. She glanced at Ryn but did not see her being excited.
Sigh.
The car finally stopped after fifteen minutes. The mansion where the Si was living situated on top of a hill. They had to go through another security post before they finally arrived in front of a super huge mansion.
Mei Li, again, gaped.
No wonder. No wonder Harry did not bate an eye over the requests and invitations for modeling castings. He did not need the money.
Just like Ryn, her heart could not help from muttering. It was not because Ryn was born from a rich family but it was more because of her being taught that money was not important by her hippy parents and they even, until now, stubbornly gave her pocket money.
These two models under her were sought after by many brands, especially Ryn, but these two only chose whatever grabbed their interest to work with.
Sigh.
"Let's go," Mei Li said as she shut off the engine and got out of the car. Then, after closing the door, she frowned.
"What's wrong?" Ryn asked when she noticed her manager froze.
"We forgot to buy fruits," Mei Li said unhappily.
"Ah..." Ryn frowned. They did forget about it. Well... "It's okay. I don't think Harry will get hurt. Besides, I'll treat him a meal once he feels better."
"If you say so," Mei Li felt better. She followed Ryn to the door.
Before Ryn could press the bell, the wide wooden door was opened wide and an elderly man smiled at them. However, before the man could speak, to greet them, he was pushed by an elderly woman wearing a beautiful white dress.
"Catherine?" the woman, Mrs. Si asked.
"Yes, I'm Catherine. And this is Mei Li, our manager. I mean, Harry and my manager," Ryn introduced Mei Li to the woman.
"Hello, my name is Mei Li. How do you do?" Mei Li greeted politely.
"Hi. I'm Harry's mother. You just call me Aunty," Mrs. Si said.
To the astonishment of Mei Li, the elderly woman grabbed hold of Ryn's hand and pulled her inside. Mei Li blinked her eyes, froze at the door. But, when she realized none of the women noticed her still there, she quickly followed behind them.
"We're reheating the food," Mrs. Si said apologetically.
"Ehh... why... err... I mean, we don't want to trouble you. We come here to visit Harry," Mei Li said hurriedly but she noticed all Mrs. Si's attention was on Ryn even though she took notice of her reply.
"It's not troubling at all. Don't worry," Mrs. Si said as she waved a hand. Another was still holding Ryn's hand tightly, never let go.
Something smelled fishy right now.
Mei Li did not dare to point it out. She followed the women climbing up the stairs, heading toward Harry's room.
"How is he now, Aunty?" Ryn asked. She desperately wanted to pull her hand from the woman but she did not have the courage to do so, knowing it would hurt her feeling.
"He's feeling better... I hope," Mrs. Si sighed unhappily. Her son was being difficult today. He refused to eat breakfast and lunch, just lying there motionlessly. Luckily he did agree to eat his medicine. She was hoping that dear Ryn could coax him to eat.
Ryn chewed her bottom lip. She glanced at the back toward Mei Li and her manager could only shrug. It was just a fever, right? So why does Mrs. Si seems worried?
"Well, here we are," Mrs. Si said when they finally reached a room after walking for almost fifteen minutes. The corridor was so long and even until now, they could not see the end of it.
This was a castle!
Silently Mei Li wondered how many maids working here. The amount of time to spend cleaning the corridor... She could not help from shivering. This was not a normal rich family. This was a super-rich family!
