Ryn took a deep breath to calm down before she entered the showroom, as Mika pulled her into the place enthusiastically. She did glance back at Mrs. Long, hoping for some help from the elder woman. But it was useless.

Probably Mrs. Long realized that she has no plan to buy one, she gave a sorry look at the younger woman.

Ryn sighed again. She gave a weak smile at the excited manager and followed them to check on the latest car from BMW.

Mika quickly checked all that is in the car with her mouth never stopped moving. She kept urging Ryn to come to look at it as well.

Mrs. King shook her head and went to find a chair to sit in. She knew in the end, the girl would reject all of the cars shown. It was better for her to sit down and tell her son what happened today just in case that silly son of hers worrying over Ryn. Knowing Catherine by now, there was a possibility for her not to inform anything to Jeremy. Not even the fact that she passed her driving test on the first try.

She really needed to learn to share the news with her boyfriend and soon-to-be fiance.

"What about this one?" Mika asked Ryn once she was done checking everything. She looked at her best friend, ignoring that her fiance was checking the engine with the manager.

"Mika, can I speak with you... alone?" Ryn requested. She nudged toward the front of the showroom.

"Erm... sure." Mika followed Ryn out of the showroom.

The manager watched sadly as the cameraman followed the two. Well, he told himself, at least the cameraman did catch something when Miss Long checked the car. He even positioned himself close to Miss Long in order to get into the recording. And he saw the camera did recording the whole showroom. Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'t-need-it_51946316342814354 for visiting.

"What's wrong, Ryn?" Mika asked once they stood outside.

"Why don't you send me home?" Ryn asked slowly.

"But... we're buying a car for your present. Don't you want a car?" Mika asked in a puzzle. She did not understand why Ryn seemed to not having a mood to buy a car. She was always happy and excited whenever Jason suggested they went to the showroom. She even helped to choose Jason's next car.

She was confused with Ryn. So confused.

Ryn took a deep breath to calm down. She knew Mika did not understand her reluctance. She had no doubt that the first thing Mika did when she passed her driving licence was to buy a car. But then again, Ryn believed Jason already prepared a car for Mika, seeing how besotted that man was toward Mika.

He was head over heels for her.

"Mika," she started slowly. She turned so that both of them were facing each other. She tried not to frown when the camera was focussing on them. She knew better to use a message to direct message for Mika. It was better to do it face-to-face and immediately, rather than waiting for tomorrow when there was no camera involved.

Just treat them like flies, she told herself for the hundredth time. It was the mantra she kept repeating over and over again today.

"I appreciate that you came to support me during my driving test," Ryn started to speak. She was careful with her words and intonation. She did not want Mika to misunderstand.

"Yes...?" Mika gave her a puzzled look. What was Ryn hinting about? She did not like it?

"It's just... I'd prefer the support not to be in a materialistic item. Don't you think a car is too expensive for a present?" Ryn asked.

"But I can totally afford it," Mika still did not understand it.

Ryn held Mika's hands. "I know you can. I know if you have it in your mind, you can buy all the cars in this showroom."

"Then?"

"Mika, I really have no intention or plan to buy a car today. In fact, I don't think I have to buy one now. I don't want to be rushing when making a decision. I don't want to regret it in the future," Ryn tried to explain carefully.

"That's why we look at every car carefully," Mika pointed out.

"Mika, please," Ryn begged.

"No, Ryn, I really don't understand," Mika shook her head. She did not understand why Ryn was so opposed to this idea. Was it wrong for her to celebrate by gifting a car?

Ryn pinched the bridge of her nose. Stay calm, Ryn, stay calm.

"Ryn?"

"Never mind. Just keep looking," Ryn said finally. She wished she could knock onto Mika's silly head to wake her up.

Mika nodded happily and with her hand holding to Ryn's hand, she walked back into the building.

What else could she do except letting Mika having her fun, Ryn cried in her heart. In front of the camera, she could not just argue with Mika plainly. Later, once the crews all go away, she would try again to make Mika understands.

So troublesome.

Mrs. Long was chatting on the phone when Ryn looked toward her. Ryn sighed. It seemed like she was alone in this.

They did not much time before Mika, a bit frustrated with Ryn, decided to leave. Ryn let out a relieved sigh when Mika announced with a wave of her hands.

Three of them got into the car and drove away. The cameraman and the director nodded their thanks to the manager and went away too.

"You really don't choose anything," Mika said grumpily as they got into the car.

Ryn sighed. She looked at Jason who was looking at her through the rear mirror. This time, Mika refused to sit at the front and wanted to sit beside Ryn. Jason shrugged when he noticed the look.

"Let her be, Mika. It's her own choice. Don't force your taste to her," Mrs. Long admonished her daughter. She did not want her daughter to keep pressuring Ryn, knowing how it made Ryn uneasy.

"But..."

"Babe," Jason spoke up.

Mika sighed. She closed her eyes and took another deep breath.

"Fine. I won't force you to choose now. You choose whatever you want whenever you have the idea," she finally said.

Jason hid a relieved sigh. He was relieved when his fiancee finally gave in. It was a nerve-racking moment for them as they all worried it would trigger her emotion.

"Thanks, Mika," Ryn said as she hugged Mika the best as she could.

"Hmph... I really cannot understand you. You always were uncomfortable whenever we want to buy you something," Mika grumbled.

"Because I can afford it," Ryn pointed out dryly.

"It's a gift, do you understand? A gift. Of course, it meant that I spent money for you and I am happy for that."

"You can just treat me lunch, which you did, and I'm already happy," Ryn replied back.

"Catherine," Mika sighed heavily.

"Mika," Ryn sighed back.

"Enough, girls. Stop quarreling," Mrs. Long interrupted them. If she let them kept bickering like children, it might hurt their friendship and Mrs. Long did not want that to happen. Her children and the whole family really liked Ryn.

Mika pursed her lips and looked at Ryn unhappily but her best friend was just patting her head.

Jason chuckled when he saw them like that. He was worried too and luckily Mrs. Long managed to control the situation.

"You really don't want to have dinner with us?" Mika asked as they were getting closer to Ryn's apartment.

"I really am tired and I want to sleep," Ryn replied. She gave a hopeful look at Mrs. Long, hoping the elder woman could help her.

"Mika, Ryn must be tired after the whole day spending time with us and the stress from the test. Let her rest. Tomorrow we can spend more time with Ryn, right, dear?"

Ryn nodded her head hurriedly. They could spend more time tomorrow, without these cameras catching every moment of their actions and conversations.

It would be better.

"You don't have to send me until the door. Here is enough," Ryn said once they had arrived.

"Are you sure, dear?" Mrs. Long asked worriedly. This was actually her first time here and she was worried. Although Jeremy said he already bought the whole building and even added more CCTV and guards, she felt worried about Ryn's safeties. This poor dear was living alone without anyone taking care of her. What would happen if something bad happened?

"I'll leave first, aunty. Goodbye, everyone," Ryn said once Mika got out of the car to leave room for her to move. "Call me once you've arrived, okay?"

"Is it okay with you..." and them? Mika used her eyes to indicate the crews.

"Don't worry." Ryn patted Mika's hands before waved her hand at Mrs. Long who was still sitting in the car. "Bye, Mika."

Ryn walked slowly to the elevator with the cameraman quickly followed her. He was still in charge of recording Ryn's movement, hence, once he got out of the van, he quickly rushed to Ryn. He did not want to miss anything.
