The rain hit them hard. Along with the flashes and the thunders.

Jeremy kept glancing at Ryn, worried to see the frown on her face.  The thunders were affecting her dream and he hated it.

He looked left and right and made up his mind to use a shortcut to go to his place. It was quite rare for him to use it even though he knew the way.

Just because he had to drive through a lot of residential areas.

It would take a shorter time if he was lucky, but it would take a long time if the residents all have returned home and parked their cars outside.

And with the rain...

He glanced at her again and bite his bottom lip. She was getting restless.

He prayed hard that nothing could slow them down more. He carefully turned the car to the right, into the residential areas. With the drops of water raining down the car, it drove carefully into the areas, avoiding the parked car smoothly.

Luckily for him, it was a short ride. Despite the rain and the cars, he did not face more obstacles. The car finally reached his place. He used his card to get into the bas.e.m.e.nt and drove the car to his parking lot.

"Mika?" his heart whispered as he frowned to see a familiar car at the parking lot beside his. It was usually empty as Mika already moved into the mansion while preparing for her wedding. Once they exchanged the vow, Mika and Jason would move into the new house. Jeremy did not ask where but he actually expected Mika to live with Jason's family at the ancestral mansion.

"Love, wake up. We've arrived," he shook Ryn gently.  Luckily the sound of rain was not as loud as outside. He leaned down to drop a kiss on top of her head and rubbed her nape gently.

She was slow to wake up and sighed when she saw him. Although she did not mention it, she was glad and relieved to see him after the nightmare she had.

"Let's go," he told her. He already took her back from the back and even put it over his shoulders. He reached his hand out to hold her hand and help her out.

"Is Mika here?" Ryn asked. She noticed the car once she was out of the car. It was hard not to with how flashy the car was. A bright pink! Only Mika was able to drive around a car as bright as that. For the tenth time, she told herself not to let Mika choose her car. She did not want to be unable to show her face if the car's color was too 'eye-catching'. She was not as thicked-skin as Mika.

"I guess she wants to apologize to you," Jeremy replied. It was not impossible knowing how desperate his little sister was to not lose her best friend again. She would do anything to be on the good side of Ryn.

"Hmm..." She really has no comment about that. Whether Mika truly apologizes to her from the bottom of her heart or it was because she was forced to desperate for her own interest, Ryn did not care. She just wanted to go into the guest room and sleep. Her body was still weak and all she could think of was sleeping.

They took the elevator quietly. He did not forget to wrap his arms around her, letting her lean against him so she could rest. Although it did not take much time for them to reach the floor, it was still a couple of winks for Ryn.

"Ryn~" Mika cried once she saw her best friend entering the house. God knew how desperate she was when Ryn ignored the phone call. Even her stupid brother refused to answer her call. She tried to ask for help from Jason but her fiance was clueless as well. It seemed like she made such a huge blunder and no one could help her.

Without thinking, Jeremy stepped forward to protect Ryn and gave a glare at Mika.

Mika who was about to rush at Ryn almost fell down. She did not want to hug Jeremy. She wanted to hug Ryn. Her Ryn.

"Ryn?" she looked at her best friend pitifully. Her big eyes blinked a few times, wondering why she was receiving this kind of treatment from her own brother. And why wasn't Ryn saying anything?

Jeremy snorted when he saw the act from Mika. He turned around and looked at Ryn tenderly, "Go to our room to rest. I'll deal with her."

Ryn nodded dumbly. She was too exhausted to handle Mika. She really needed the bed now.

"But... but..." Mika tried to stop Ryn from climbing up the stairs to go to the bedroom but her arm was held by Jeremy, stopping her from stopping Ryn. She turned and looked at Jeremy in hurt. Why was she being treated this way? She did not understand at all.

"Go sit at the sofa," Jeremy ordered as he pointed at the sofa in the living room. He was thirsty but he needed his little sister to behave first. He could not let her 'bullying' Ryn under his watch.

"Jeremy!" Mika cried as she stormed her feet unhappily. She knew she was acting childish but this sort of bullying from her own brother was too much.

"Go there," he said with no smile on his face. In fact, he was using the same expression when he was dealing with his workers. The serious Jeremy.

Mika gulped. Slowly, she made her way to the sofa even though she was unsatisfied. Now, she wished she brought Jason along to help her. Why did she tell her fiance that it would be alright and she could handle this on her own? She forgot that Jeremy was angry at her as well. And he blamed her even though he said he would help her by talking with Ryn. By looking at the way Ryn was behaving, it was clear that Ryn was still mad at her and Jeremy did nothing to change her mind at all.

Mika sucked in her breath, holding her tears desperately. Why was she being bullied like this? She meant no harm when she planned the surprise. Why was she being blamed for being a good friend? She just wanted to cheer Ryn up! Was it wrong?

Poor Mika. At least Jeremy learned from his mistake and gradually changed his overbearing attitude toward Ryn but Mika? She still has a lot to learn and adjust.

Jeremy went to the kitchen to quench his thirst. After two glasses of water, he went into the living room and took the seat in front of his sulking sister. He sighed.

"Do you even understand what you did wrong?" he asked quietly.

She turned her head away from him, sulking.

"You are getting married in less than a year but still acting like a kid. Are you sure you are ready to be a wife?"

His question made her turn her head faster than a bullet. How could he say she was not ready to be a wife? Once she said yes, it meant she was ready; both mentally and physically. If not, why would she dare to agree with Jason's proposal?

Her eyes went wet with hurt. How could he accuse her like this?

"Mika, stop crying," Jeremy refused to give in from her tears. He needed his sister to understand that Ryn was not an item for them to do what they wanted. She has her wish and plans too. If she could not follow them, no one should blame her. She has her own life. Of course, once they got married, Jeremy hoped that Ryn would quit her job and became the housewife. He did not want to see her so tired from her work. He wanted to fatten her up and let her live leisurely.

"I am not crying," Mika sniffed. She refused to let her brother bullying her.

"Go home."

"Why?"

"Because I said so."

"You're not Father. You're not my boss," she cried.

"Oh, I am your boss," he corrected dryly. She has forgotten that in the company, he is the boss while she was in charge of three departments. She answered him and even needed his approval when taking days off.

"But this is not at work!" she cried.

"I am your big brother," he pointed out, "And I know more than you do."

"I... I..."

"Ryn needs to rest. If you want to speak with her, choose another time," he said with a sigh. Must he spell out everything to her? Couldn't she see how exhausted Ryn was? If Ryn was in her usual self, she would not allow Jeremy to order her around, not even to the bed, and would go straight to Mika even though the one who would be talking would be his little sister.

"Why?" Mika really did not understand. Why was she being told to come again later? She came here to talk with Ryn. Was it wrong?
