Tim and Hank quickly put off the cigarette they had been smoking when the couple returned to the studio. Jeremy handed a bag to them, containing food for them to have if they haven't had their lunch yet. Ryn insisted to pack for them and as her husband, he did what she told him too.

"Ryn and I will look at the songs first while you two enjoy your food," he told the men. Again, he grabbed the lyric and sat next to his girlfriend.

Tim and Hank quickly thanked Ryn by calling her "sister-in-law", which made the woman's lips curled. She did not know whether to laugh or cry seeing these two men's antic. She ignored them hurriedly went out with their food. Hey, they only had cigarette for their lunch because they were still preparing the songs for her. Of course, they were too busy gossiping until they forgot that they too needed to have lunch.

Ryn pursed her lips. She knew he would not give up.

"Do we really need to do this?" She asked, "Do I really?"

"Love, this is for Mika. Don't worry. We will help you to perfect the performance," he coaxed. He chose the first song for her to practice and handed it to her, "Why don't you warm up your voice first."

She repeated what he did, warming up her vocal chord. It felt weird for her but he seemed so immerse in it, she dropped her shyness as she closed her eyes and put her all into it.

"That's it. Very good," he praised. Just by listening to her voice as she warming up her voice, he knew this will work. He stood up and went to the controller. As he pressed and played with the buttons and switches, he turned and looked at her, "You can begin."

The song played as he bobbed his head following the rhythm.

"And... start..." he helped telling her where to begin.

She opened her mouth as she sang. Her eyes following each word as she was afraid she would miss any of them.

He smiled as he listened to her. He could feel her nervousness but he did not mind at all. This was after all her first try and the first time for her to sing this song outside the karaoke room. In fact, he believed it had been two years for her to sing this song. It would remind her of Mika and then him so it would be impossible for her to sing these two songs after they broke up.

When she finished, she looked at him. Her cheeks were already red. This was after all a love song, a confession of love to her lover.

Then, she clutched her chest, against her heart. Her face grimaced. It suddenly pounded hard, so hard it was painful.

"Love, are you okay?" He asked hurriedly when he saw her face turned pale. Was she sick?

"I'm okay," she said as she put the lyric on top of the table and went to the bar. She took out a tin of beer and without looking at him, she sipped it.

"Are you sure you can drink when you're not feeling well?" He asked worriedly. He tried to take the beer from her but she turned to avoid his hand.

"I'm fine. I just need a second," she replied as she took another sip. And another. Once she felt she could face him, she put the tin onto the table and stood up again, "Where is the toilet?"

"Turn left at the entrance," he said even though he still worried about her. He did follow her out but she pushed him to stay in the room, "Watch over my beer. I don't want anyone to accidentally drink it."

He sighed heavily. Then, he took the beer she drunk and drank it in one gulp. He did not understand why she suddenly touched her chest as if she was in pain but then she drank beer and refused to look at him. It felt like she was putting another wall between them. What did he do wrong this time? He did not understand at all.

She returned at the same time as the two

men. In fact, they were chatting rather cheerfully. Jeremy did not feel anything at all seeing them being so friendly. He did trust Ryn and at the same time he knew Tim and Hank would not try to steal Ryn away because Tim already married and Hank was engaged to his childhood sweetheart. Both men were faithful to their second half so nothing to be worried about.

"It is not difficult to be a model once you've had the hang of it," Ryn said before grinned, "and if you can sleep anywhere anytime."

"What do you mean?" Tim asked. His cousin wanted to try to be a model and as today he met with a real supermodel, it would be stupid of him not to ask for tips.

"Being a model is not just being famous and travelling around the world. Behind the scene, it is usual for models to wait long hours at the set or being cancelled on the spot without any reason. It can be stressful for some who cannot get used to it." Ryn shrugged. Although she now was being chased by so many brands and designers, she did face some obstacles when she first began. She was after all still new and lacked of experience. The stress from the work on top of Jeremy's lack of commitment toward their relationship made it easy for her to burst out in anger and argue with him, which lead to their separation. She coughed to cover her sudden change of mood and gave them a smile.

"If your cousin really wants to become a model, she can try sending her portfolio to the agency or join the model competition. I heard there will be one soon."

"A competition?" Tim asked. Maybe he could tell his cousin to try the competition. At least even if she was not chosen, she could learn something from it.

"What are you talking about? A competition?" Jeremy asked.

"Tim's cousin wants to be a model. That's why he's asking Ryn about being a model," Hank explained. He went to his chair and frowned when the seitches and butttons were not how he left at before. He gave a suspicious look at Jeremy but the man ignored him.

"Oh," Jeremy said. He stood up and wrapped his arm around Ryn's slim waist, bringing her into the sound-proof recording room.

"Don't worry. You just sing just the way you did just now," he told her as he helped putting the headphone on her.

"I bet you're enjoying this," she mumbled. She managed to control her emotion by splashing water to her face and told herself a hundred times to keep calm. It was just a song. It did not mean that she was giving him another chance to hurt her again.

She did not forget that she has promised Jeremy and herself that she would give their relationship another chance but she could not help from holding onto the invincible wall around her heart.

She did not realize her inability to open up her heart to him will hurt her back. She was too scared to realize what she was doing would hurt both of them.

Tim and Hank quickly played with the switches and buttons as they started to get serious.

Jeremy sat beside them, watching her carefully. It seemed like she was okay but he was still worried. He did not know what happened to her but at least she no longer having a paled face. He sighed a bit.

Ryn closed her eyes as she let the song filled her head. Her mouth opened and she began to sing, following the music.

Tim and Hank shared a shocked look. Then, they looked at Jeremy who was smiling from ear to ear.

No wonder Jeremy insisted for Ryn to sing during the wedding. Her voice... although it still needed a little bit of polish but they believed if she wanted to, she could become a successful singer.

They even had goosebumps as they listened to her.

Ryn did not realize she did not once look at the lyric when she sang. She closed her eyes all the time. She did not want to see their reaction. She was also shy to look at them. Why on earth would Jeremy ask her to sing in front of a music engineer and a composer? She was not a real singer. Even if he wanted her to sing during Mika's wedding, they could just practice at his place. He did have a music studio at the condo so why here?

"Very good, Ryn. First take and it's done. Or do you want to try again?" Hank asked through the microphone.

Ryn finally opened her eyes and looked at them. Her confused look made the three men chuckled. Did she just forget that she was actually recording the song? Of course, during the wedding it would be live but this recording was to be used if anything happened.

She looked at Jeremy and he nodded. He did not tell her that they would record immediately because he did not want her to be nervous. And he was right. If he told her, she would get so nervous that it eould affect her voice and her concentration.
