Ryan untied her hair to make it easier for her to sleep in the car. They were on the way to Barcelona. Instead of insisted to sit beside Ryn, Jeremy decided to sit beside Jason to ensure that nothing could distract him from his driving.
Mika who was sitting beside Ryn was already deep in her sleep. She slept late last night, accompanying her fiancé while he was doing an online conference. She did drink a lot of coffee but she could no longer fight the sleepiness from taking over her.
Ryn adjusted the seating and looked at Mika who was deep in her sleep. She checked the time and decided she could steal an hour or two for sleeping. She took out her phone and put it into the pocket in the car, not wanting to smash it during her sleep.
Before long, she joined Mika. Sleeping peacefully in the car on the way to Barcelona.
Ryn woke up with a kiss on her lips. She sighed as she blinked her eyes a few times.
"J?" she sighed questioningly. Her voice dripped with sleepiness as she looked at her smiling boyfriend.
"Wake up. It's time for lunch," he said as he got out of the car. What better way to wake a Sleeping Beauty up if not a true kiss on her lips?
She looked beside her and found Mika getting out of the car, rubbing her sleepy eyes. Her body turned limp as she allowed Jason to carry her. Ryn turned to look at her boyfriend and sighed, "Where are we?"
"Almost there but we're stopping for lunch and some rest," he explained. He wanted to scoop her up but knew she would not allow him to do just that. He watched as she took a bottle of drink from the pocket at the back of the car seat and wet her throat. Then, she started to get out of the car, and just like Mika, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
"Do you need my help?" he asked, watching as her hands automatically reached for the hair and the hairband to make her hair into a loose ponytail. She did not even use a brush, just her fingers to brush her hair.
"No need," she replied. She yawned twice more as she stretched her arms and body. Her body all stiffened from the long journey in the car. She really needed to loosen them up to feel better.
He offered his hand and she accepted it. together, they followed behind the engaged couple.
"You are still tired? Did I tire you so much last night?" he asked as he led her into the restaurant. Jason assured him the food there was good enough for them so he just followed suit. He did not care much as long as the taste suitable for Ryn.
"Do you want juice or coffee?" he asked once they sat on the table. He sat beside Ryn while Mika and Jason sat side by side. No argument or staring eyes needed as both women were still sleepy and just followed what the men arranged. And Jason definitely needed to hold his fiancée's hand after the long hour of driving.
He needed to recharge his energy and his mood, just like Jeremy.
Being on a diet, Mika just ordered some salad to tie her up while the men and Ryn chose more hearty food for their lunch. They spent almost two hours there before they were finally ready to continue their journey.
"Why don't we drive the car and you two sit at the back?" Ryn suggested as they got closer to the car.
"No need. Jeremy will drive," Jason replied with Jeremy nodded beside Ryn. They refused to let the women driving. One, because Mika was the dare-devil in the group and she loved driving fast and furious while secondly, Ryn just got her driving license and yet to apply for the international driving license. Last and most important was that they just wanted the women to relax during the journey and let them deal with the road.
Ryn and Mika shared a look but none argued. They just went to their seat and watched as Jeremy took over the driver's seat while Jason sat beside him.
"Let's go now," Jeremy said before he hit the accelerator and the car moved forward. Both Mika and Ryn pulled down the window to enjoy the breeze. The men watched from the mirror and smiled.
Soon enough, they entered the city. Ryn and Mika watched as Jeremy and Jason discussed the way to the hotel Jason booked. They were not worried about the crews at all. The next shooting would be tomorrow, enough for all of them to recuperate from the long journey.
Jeremy took the presidential suite so there was no problem with Jeremy being kicked out from the room by neither Mika nor Ryn. Jeremy approved the decision once he knew. He did not want to sleep without holding Ryn in his arms. And he believed that Jason could coax Mika to spend the night together and would not disturb Ryn.
Both men took out the luggage and let the bellboy arrange them neatly on the trolley. Mika and Ryn hand in hand went to sit at the lounge. Once the bonnet was empty, Jeremy handed the key to the valet and went with Jason to the receptionist.
"Do you think they want to have some snacks first or go straight to sleep?" Jason asked Jeremy.
Jeremy glanced at the women, twitching his lips. Ryn would want to have a nap but at the same time, she would be hungry after the journey. They did not buy much for the snack anyway.
"I'll ask them," Jeremy decided. He went to the women and asked, "What do you want to do now? Sleep or eat?"
"Eat," Ryn answered immediately.
"I want to sleep," Mika said with a yawn. Sleeping in the car was uncomfortable. In fact, it made her even more exhausted!
"Jason will bring you into the room. Let's go, Love," Jason reached out his hand for Ryn and she accepted it. Both went outside to check what cafes and restaurants around here have to offer.
"What do you think of that?" he asked when they arrived at a café full of people.
"It's too crowded," she replied with a frown. Just now she was only hungry but now, after walking, she was famished. She wanted to eat but she did not want to wait for long.
"Why don't we have ice cream first?" he suggested. He just saw an ice cream shop not far and did not believe they have to wait for long even though there was a queue at that shop. "You just wait here while I'll buy us some ice creams."
She sat on the bench without a word. She did not think she could walk anymore. She needed sugar to recharge herself. Anything sugar is fine.
He joined the others queuing for the soft ice cream. He glanced at her a few times to make sure she was still there. She did not move at all. Before long, it was his turn and he chose chocolate ice cream and vanilla ice cream. He also bought a soft drink and mineral water. He returned and handed the mineral water to her. He watched as she gulped a quarter of the drink before he handed the chocolate ice cream. He sat beside her and enjoyed his vanilla ice cream.
"Are you feeling better?" he asked once she finished devouring everything. They even shared the cold soft drink.
"Hmm…" she nodded.
"Then, let's go find us some snacks."
She pouted immediately. More walking? Couldn't they just buy the street food at the stalls? She swore she saw some pretty delicious food offered at the stalls but he, in his typical bossy voice said, "I do want that but I don't think it's hygienic enough."
She tried to point out that the stalls, in her eyes, were clean and they're not the only ones eyeing the food. Some people were heading to buy the said food and a few even bought two or three! She did not understand why he was looking down on those stalls. For her, the cheaper the better, and being cheap did not mean the food was bad. She always bought street food when she was hungry and too lazy to go into a proper restaurant. It was faster and cheaper. What more could they ask?
They continued their walk as they passing a few more shops and restaurants. Ryn was getting angrier as Jeremy refused to go into any of the shops, saying the lack of customers proved the food there was not delicious enough. She was not only exhausted but famished. It felt like she should just insist for them to have their snack in the in-restaurant of the hotel instead of searching for a shop outside.
They walked about twenty more minutes before he finally found a restaurant that fulfilled his weird requirements. She let out a relieved sigh once they sat on the chair and a waiter quickly came to take their order. Finally, they could eat.
