"What are you doing?" she asked when she saw her son was stroking Ryn's head and even leaned down to kiss the sleeping woman. If she waited any longer, she had no doubt that he would join the sleeping Catherine on the bed.

Jeremy froze. He looked at his mother full of guilty, acting as if he was still a little boy caught red-handed with his hand in the cookie jar.

Without wasting another moment, she went forward and twitched Jeremy's right ear, pulling him off the bed.

"Mother!" he cried in shock. He hadn't managed to kiss his love yet but his mother ruined his plan without any warning.

"Let the poor dear sleep. Control your l.u.s.t," she scolded as she pulled him to the door, not forgetting to switch off the light as they went to the main door.

"I'm not disturbing her sleep. I am just… just…" Jeremy paused. He was actually planning to stay there for the night. After he kissed and made sure she was comfortably sleeping, he would inform his mother of his plan. And he thought she would understand and would leave them alone.

But he was wrong.

Not only she refused to let him stay the night here, but she was also still pulling his ear.

They returned to the car in the same state. She was still pulling his ear and he was grumbling and growling for her to let go. But she didn't.

She then pushed him into the car. She even made sure that he could not leave by blocking the way.

He had to sit in the middle of his grandmother and his mother.

By then, his mother released the grip of his ear.

His father just c.o.c.ked an eyebrow and snorted but did not say anything. The elder woman, on the other hand, was already sleeping as it was really late at night.

He grumbled under his breath but did not dare to complain.

It was going to be a long night for him.

The next day she woke up with a heavy headache. She g.r.o.a.n.e.d and grumbled as she rested her head over her knees, trying to ease the pain.

But it was no use.

And she could not even return back to sleep because she had to go to work this morning. She had to shoot for a new campaign and it seemed like it would take her more than half a day to complete. She also planned to pack her things before moving. So many things to do and she could not let this headache ruin her plan for the day.

She waited for almost fifteen minutes before, with a loud groan, she pushed herself to the bathroom to clean herself. Instead of washing her face once she reached the sink, she rested her hands on the cold sink and closed her eyes. The headache was driving her crazy.

"Take a deep breath. The pain is not an enemy but to make you stay awake," she told herself many times, to ignore the pain.

It took her several more minutes before she managed to gather her strength and freshened herself. She staggered out of the bathroom, only with a towel wrapped around her. She went straight to the closet and stared blankly at the row of shirts and pants she actually managed to tidy up before she started to become busy a week before. She sighed and picked a shirt blindly, along with a pair of jeans and a leather jacket. She predicted today would be a cold day and instead of wearing a hoodie, she decided to put on the leather jacket instead. She seemed to remember the owner of the agency she worked in lamented that she looked so young, it was no wonder sometimes she was stopped by the guards when she went to work. Especially when she was wearing a hoodie and put her hair in a pigtail.

But today she was too lazy to do anything special with her hair. But then again… since when did she put too much emphasis on her appearance? She even once went to her work in her jeans and spaghetti top with only a cap covering her head. Her eyes were covered with sunglasses as she tried to steal some winks in the car. The makeup artist just clucked her tongue when she saw how nonchalance Ryn was toward her appearance but once she was made up and in front of the camera, she turned into someone else, it was hard to connect the one they saw struggling to stay awake on the makeup chair with the woman in front of the camera posing seductively with bags.

The directors who knew her just shook their heads when she backed them to head for makeup and change into the outfit for the photoshoot after greeted them once she came. She always greeted the crews when she arrived at the set. It was what Jeremy reminded her of when she started to become a model and she continued it even until now.

She looked into the refrigerator and sighed. Luckily there was still some food or she had to go to work with an empty stomach.

She actually was hoping for steaks to tide her up but that part of space was empty of any kind of meat. She was a bit unhappy but the beggar could not be a chooser. She would simply go and buy some later… if she remembered it.

"I need to do something or else I will keep forgetting to buy them," she murmured to herself with a deep frown. Food for her was a very important thing but she always forgot. She did not know why she kept forgetting it. Sigh… maybe she was getting older now.

She checked her phone and found it full. Luckily the person who sent her home last night did not forget to charge her phone before that person left. She did not know who exactly sent her home. It was either Mika and Jason or Jeremy. Either way, she was at her own place, sleeping on her own bed.

And she was happy because they respected her request.

Maybe later she could bake a chocolate cake and bring it to them as a thank you.

Ryn forgot that she actually thought that one of the Long siblings brought her home and if she wanted to bake a cake, she would have to bake two cakes. But then again, she was used to baking more than one cake when she was living next to Angel, Harry's aunty. Being a fan of her chocolate cake, Angel always asked her to bake chocolate cake regularly and not only just one cake at a time but sometimes three cakes and when Ryn asked whether she could finish them, Angel just winked naughtily.

She grabbed her backpack and dumped everything on the floor. She did not even have time to pack her bag as she was deep in her sleep last night. She chose a smaller backpack and picked her purse, tissue, and wet tissue from the pile on the floor. She went to the cabinet and pulled a drawer. Luckily there was still a bottle of chewing gum. She needed to buy more to replenish her stock.

Once she was done dumping the dirty clothes into the basket for laundry and gathered and pushed her long hair into the cap, she grabbed her house key and went to get another tub of yogurt before she went to the door. Mei Li just sent her a message that she was waiting downstairs.

She indulged in the second yogurt while waiting for the elevator to bring her down when it stopped and opened. Ryn simply stepped backward without looking and continued her eating. This tub would not be able to ease her hunger but it would make do before she reached the studio and checked what food the crews prepared for them. Hopefully something with meat in it.

"Ryn?"

Ryn lifted her head and looked at the woman standing in front of her. Rebecca. How long had it been since the last time she saw this classmate? She almost forgot about her actually. She put down the yogurt and looked at her ex-friend with a calm smile.

"Morning, Rebecca."

Rebecca sank her teeth onto her bottom lip. She could not explain how guilty she was especially when she saw how others were talking badly and making fun of Ryn under the 'order' of Irene. She did not like it at all but she was too weak to go against Irene.

"How… how are you?" Rebecca asked. She was uncomfortable being alone with Ryn. Would Ryn blame her for this unfair treatment? But it seemed like Ryn did not even care. Even when people questioning why she always skipped her classes, she did not give any response or excuse, acting like nothing wrong at all. During their final exam, Rebecca could see how Ryn was treated with the cold shoulder but she did not seem to feel brokenhearted because of it. She acted as nothing happened and just did the paper calmly. Rebecca the one who felt sorry and guilty seeing the treatment. Especially after Ryn told her that she should not follow Irene blindly and do whatever Irene wanted. It was not a real friendship. There should be a give and take in friendship and that was what Ryn was trying to tell Rebecca.

"I'm fine. You?" Ryn replied back with a wry smile. She could see how uncomfortable Rebecca was but she did not think it was because of her. She did nothing, just eating her yogurt.

"I… I…"
