The food arrived and both stopped to allow the manager to arrange their food. They thanked the manager and waited until they were left alone before they reached for the knife and fork.

"Are you sure you don't need any help?" he asked in between chewing. He could not help himself.

"No need to trouble you. Everything is going well for me," she replied absentmindedly. Her focus was on the steaks as she devoured each slice happily.

He stopped trying to talk with her when he noticed she could no longer stay focused on the conversation. He sighed and drank his beer to soothe his hurt.

She dabbed her lips with the napkin and sipped her beer happily. The steaks were delicious like she thought they would be.. Even if the owner decided to increase the price, she felt it was worth the price and the time.

"Bill please," she called the waiter before he could. "This is my treat so don't try to grab it from me."

Jeremy sighed. He lifted both hands up and gave her an innocent look.

The manager came with the bill and Ryn handed her card to him. She tried not to shiver when she gave the manager her card. How much did she spend today? She tried not to think the exact number even though mostly it was for the purchase of her car.

Harry watched her sign her name. He even notice the slight shake of her hand when she put down her signature. Seriously, if she was uneasy about it, he could pay for the meal.

"I'll send you home?" he offered after they walked through the door amid the 'thank you for coming' and 'please come again' by the restaurant workers.

"No need. I have a car," she replied as she nodded toward the parking lot.

"A car? You finally bought one?" he asked in disbelief. God knew how long has she been choosing a car since she passed the driving test. He did try to suggest buying one as a present but he never had the chance to tell her, and after her latest episode in the show, he canceled his plan. If she even refused to accept the car from the Long family, surely she would reject his offer as well.

"Yes," was her short answer. She did not explain at all.

He looked at her, waiting for more but she did not continue. He sighed and followed her to the parking lot. As a gentleman, it was his job to protect her until she reached her car.

His eyes widened at the sight of the small white car. This was the type of car she chose for her first car?

The choice was... so ordinary if he did not see her unlocking the door and entering it with ease, he would not believe that she bought it.

She lowered the window after starting the engine and looked at him. "So, goodbye."

"Wait..." Harry put both hands on the car to stop it from moving.

"Yes? Do you need anything?" she asked.

"How about tonight we have dinner together? My treat?" he suggested. He refused to accept that they only spent time for one meal. He was not satisfied with the amount of time they shared together today. He still wanted to spend more time with her.

"Harry..." she sighed. She could guess why he wanted to treat her to dinner. She wondered whether she was not clear enough or he just refused to accept the truth.

He gave her an expectant look. Please say yes.

"I'm sorry. I already have a plan with my boyfriend," she said. She was lying about the plan. She did not have any plan with Jeremy nor Mika. She just wanted Harry to give up.

And not to her surprise, his face changed.

"Harry, you are a good friend and I hope one day you will find a woman who can love you with her whole heart."

"Are we just that? Friends?" he choked out in hurt.

"Friends and colleague. We are friends and also colleagues. I will help you to improve and soon, you will be among the supermodels in the world," she said.

He was brokenhearted... for the millionth time. She broke his heart cruelly by saying those words. Did she even realize that?

Was she that heartless?

She said her goodbye for the last time before she drove the car away, leaving him standing there listlessly. She did not care what he thought about her or how he was feeling. She needed to stay firm in order to make him move on.

She reached the supermarket near her home and parked the car. Now she was ready to do her grocery. Her stomach was full and she had the energy to buy her things.

She took the trolley and entered the supermarket. Her mind was busy thinking about how she could save her money. Should she cross some of the things she needed to buy? Or buy less amount of meat for her favorite steak?

And she needed to stock up the spices for her steaks. She could not skip those spices or she would be sad when eating!

"Suck it up. You have to accept that things are getting more expensive nowadays and in order to live happily, you cannot skip any of these things," she told herself sadly. Why were things so expensive nowadays? And she needed to buy them all in one day?

As she was mulling and arguing over this in her mind, she reached the meat counter. It was as if she never had arguments in her mind when she went crazy. The butcher watched without blinking his eyes as Ryn threw so many packets of meat into her trolley. She did not even look at the price, just took those cuts she loved.

The butcher checked the cold compartment when she finally left and his jaw dropped to see half of the container empty. His eyes followed the way the female customer walked, gulping hard.

Was she a monster?

Ryn, unaware of what the butcher thought of her, pushed the trolley happily. She no longer remembered the uneasiness she felt earlier about spending money on groceries.

If she suddenly remembered about the matter, she might lose her composure and even her consciousness. The meat she took just now could actually buy triple the amount of the ingredients she listed in her to-buy list. And if she chose all the expensive items on the list. In fact, meat was not on the list at all. It was just... she lost her mind when her feet brought her straight away to the meat section.

She spent the rest of the time happily choosing the other ingredients. As she sometimes worked outstations and rarely spent the night at home, she only took two cartons of milk and two tubs of yogurt. Even though she hated vegetables, she still ate fruits so she only chose two types of fruits just in case she needed something to chew as snacks when she was busy running on the treadmill.

Well, sometimes she got bored when running so she needed something to chew in between.

She put everything into the bonnet and closed the cover. Then, she pushed the trolley to where the other trolleys were kept and then walked back to her car. Her heart was full of happiness. With this car, surely she would not find it hard to buy her grocery. She believed she would no longer forget to buy anything when it was finished at home.

She drove back happily. But instead of going straight to her house, she stopped at the management to apply for a card for residence and register her car. Once she registered her car, she could go in and out just by using the residence entrance. She knew apart from her, Jeremy and Mika also registered all their cars at the management and held a car each. She knew about it but was too lazy to scold them. Whether she liked it or not, they would always come to her house.

She thanked the man who was in charge after getting her card and sticker. She skipped happily to her car and drove to her house. She opened the door for her house and quickly switched on the fan and light. Then, she returned to the car to retrieve the groceries she just bought. It took her several trips before the bonnet was empty.

She left her purchases on the floor of the kitchen and returned to the car. She locked it and finally remembered that she forget to close and lock the gate. She quickly did that, telling herself next time the first thing she should do instead of opening the door of her house was to close and lock the gate. Even though it was a gated community but danger could be anywhere... anytime. She did not want, because of her own neglect, to fall under the criminal's hand.

It was better to prevent before anything bad happened.
