Ryn stirred with a soft yawn when she heard something being closed. She blinked her eyes sleepily as her memory came back.

Ah, she came here with Mika to have a nap after their lunch.

She sat up and stretched her arms, yawning loudly. Ahh... she felt slightly better. She looked around and found herself alone in the room. She frowned.

Where was Mika?

Ryn was about to call her best friend when she heard a giggle coming from the bathroom..

Ah, there she was.

Ryn canceled her plan to look for Mika and took out her phone. She saw several messages from Jeremy who was asking her location. She automatically replied where she was and with whom, just to lift the worry in him. Then, she realized she hasn't told Jeremy about White. Instead of typing 'I bought a car', she, just like what she did to Mika, sent the two photos to him.

It did not take long to receive his response. Instead of typing back a reply, he immediately called her.

"Hello," she greeted him.

"Hello, love. Where are you?" Jeremy asked.

"In the hotel," she replied without thinking.

"Hotel? What are you doing there? Having dinner?" Jeremy was not told that Mika and Ryn were spending time together. He went to work this morning and even until now, he was still dealing with the business. When Ryn sent him the photos then he paused his work and focussed back on his love. It was not his intention to ignore her but he had too many things to finish by today. If he was to postpone them to later days, he had to ignore her more just to finish them. That was why he decided by hook or by crook he would settle everything by today, even if he has to sleep at the office!

"Mika and I had a short nap after lunch. We'll return after dinner," Ryn said as she scratched her arm absentmindedly.

"Oh...What are the photos you sent me about? Did you rent or buy a car?" Jeremy asked slowly. The suspicion in his heart disappear when he heard her explanation. Spending time with Mika? Good. He preferred his girlfriend spending time with Mika than with any other man.

"I bought it... yesterday," Ryn answered truthfully. Even if she wanted to keep the when from his knowledge, he would learn it sooner or later. Better be straightforward and honest.

"Oh..." he waited for further explanation but it seemed like that was the end of her confession.

It was an awkward silence. Even Ryn had no idea what to say to Jeremy. She was actually hoping for him to say something or ask... anything. This silence was slowly driving her crazy. She did not mind if they were in the same room compared that being far away, doing their own things silently but through the phone, she preferred to know what he wanted her to say. She meant it was not as if she wanted him to order her around to do anything he wanted. She was referring to the topic they could talk about.

"I... I will see you tomorrow? Sorry, my love, I have to finish the work here first before I can see you." Jeremy said finally. He paused just now because he needed to read a newly arrived e-mail. It was regarding the new project. He ordered Jacob to send him the report as soon as possible after he heard the rumor about an earthquake around that area. He was relieved to know the project was not affected by the natural disaster but he still wanted a proposal of how to overcome it if something happened in the future. They would never know what would happen in the future.

"Yeah, sure. Don't work too late at night. You still need to sleep and rest," she reminded before ending the call. She put the phone onto the nightstand and let out a sigh. It seemed like Jeremy could no longer play around wanting to spend time with her now. He had to start to focus on the companies especially when it was still in the middle of merging. Ryn had no idea why it took them so long just to merge but she was not curious enough until she wanted to ask him or Mika. It was their company and has nothing to do with her.

She lied back on the bed by resting her head on her crossed hands. She stared at the ceiling while waiting for Mika to be done with her phone call.

It was about fifteen minutes later when Mika, still giggling, skipped out of the bathroom. She paused when she saw her best friend lying on the bed with her eyes staring straight at the wall.

"You're up?" she asked as she sat on her bed, still clutching to her phone.

"Hmm... just told Jeremy about White," Ryn replied absent-mindedly.

"You didn't tell him?" Mika was surprised but at the same time felt gleefully happy to see how much Ryn loved her compared to her stinky big brother. She did not even bother to inform her own boyfriend but told her best friend first. See that, Jeremy, Ryn thought of me more, Mika's heart declared smugly.

"I... forgot?" Ryn shrugged. She did forget about it. Maybe she was still sleepy. She only remembered to tell her parents and then... Mika. Really, Jeremy's name slipped out her mind yesterday although he was her boyfriend.

Just say she was still trying to remember and get used to having a boyfriend. Two years of struggle to forget about the pain really made her forget about the feeling of sharing everything with someone she called a boyfriend.

Mika threw her head back and laughed loudly. She even fell down on the bed, holding her stomach as she laughed and laughed and laughed. She really liked this.

Ryn did not call out to her for being 'evil' toward her own brother. Instead, Ryn jumped to her feet and went to the bathroom. She wanted to have a quick shower before they checked out and looked for a place to have their dinner.

Even when she was done with her shower, Mika was still laughing on the bed. Ryn shook her head and put her hair into a messy bun. Then, she went to get the bottle of water which was provided by the hotel and drank it slowly.

"Do you want to have a shower first or we can check out now?" Ryn asked after she wet her throat.

Mika finally managed to stop laughing. She jumped to her feet and went to grab the second bottle of water. She drank half of it before she looked at her best friend.

"We can leave now," she said. She had already taken a shower before the nap so she did not find it weird if they just checked out straight away.

Both went down to the lobby and toward the counter. Mika stood beside Ryn as her best friend handed the key to the receptionist. Then, they walked together to the car.

"So, where are we going now?" Mika asked as she pulled on the safety belt. She watched as Ryn did the same and then started the engine.

"Find another place to have dinner?" Ryn suggested.

"After that?"

"I... I'll send you home?" Ryn gave a puzzled look at Mika. Wouldn't she want to go home? She thought Mika was missing Jason desperately. Wouldn't this best friend of hers want to spend the night with her fiance?

"Ryn~" Mika whɨnėd, giving a hurt look at her best friend. Her eyes even, dramatically, gathered with tears, any second to drop.

"What?"

"Do you hate me?"

Ryn almost choked at the accusation. How did it end up to this topic? What was wrong with that genius brain of Mika? Has, after being engaged and soon to be married, Mika's brain has turned all mushy?

"Why... How... What...?" Ryn sputtered. She really had no idea where that come from. Seriously, Mika, why would you think that way?

"You don't want to spend time with me anymore?" Mika asked sadly.

"Mika," Ryn rubbed her temple with one hand. She swore whenever Mika was this weird, she was under the stress of trying to make sense of where this insecurity came from. It was not as if she dumped Mika heartlessly. She was going to send Mika home after they spent so much time together. If Mika wanted, they could meet back tomorrow.

"Am I..."

"Mika, it's not that I hate you or hate being with you. I'm going to send you home after dinner because I want you to rest. Your wedding is getting nearer and we cannot risk the chance of anything bad happens. Besides, I bet you purposedly left your medicine at home, didn't you?"

Mika was quiet. She chewed her lower lip and looked down guiltily. She did 'forget' to bring her medicine along because she knew she did not need them. She was with Ryn and her best friend was her best medicine. Besides, she really hated being dependent on the pills in order to stop this bad feeling. She hated the fact that she had to eat them in order to stay normal. She was not sick. She was just... missing Ryn too much and it felt like her life has no more meaning without Ryn.

But now, Ryn has come back to her and she would never let Ryn leave her again... ever again.
