Chapter 560: Do you have the confidence to walk?

Ryn sighed. She already promised herself that she would not join any program anymore that related to television or something like that. She just promised herself that last night was the last time she joined this kind of thing.
She was not suitable to be in a show. Just give her a runway or just give her things to 'promote', she can do it with one eye close but when she had to participate in the conversation while trying not to look nervous, the stress was more than she could accept.
"This is the last one. I promise," Mei Li lifted her right hand in a vow but Ryn was too stressed to care.
"I'm sorry," Ryn said finally. She did not want to think this over for several more hours. Her mind was made up. Last night was the last time. She did not want to participate in any show not related to her real job.
Mei Li's face changed to sadness. She was full of anticipation with Ryn joining the program would create more opportunities for this model to strengthen her hold in both as a model and an artist.
She was hoping that Ryn would slowly and steadily turn into an artist, maybe as an actress? She did not know but seeing the talent of Ryn while modelling in many moods and environments, Mei Li has no doubt that it would be a piece of cake for this model to immerge into any character given and in just a short time would be an A list actress. And most importantly, those outside their world would no longer accuse Ryn of clutching her claws into Jeremy's thɨġh with no talent at all.
She really wanted the world to know that Ryn did not depend on anyone to be successful.
Ryn spend another hour discussing work she would do before she started her training. When she returned to the car, she let out an exhausted sigh. The holiday was officially over and tonight, she already has a job to do. It was a last-minute invitation and Ryn did not even do any casting or audition. The person in charge actually asked carefully whether Ryn was available tonight and when Ryn was about to say she just returned from her holiday, the man quickly cried a figure for her to join the fashion show tonight. What else could Ryn do other than accept the job? She knew the orphanage needed a lot of money to survive.
She needed to do everything to help the children. Even if she was so exhausted to do anything.
Once the alarm blared, she woke up and stretched her arms and back tiredly. She rubbed her eyes and glanced at the phone. She remembered what she must do and quickly rushed into the bathroom for a quick shower and freshen up. Once she was done wearing comfortable clothes, she went to the kitchen to make a huge mug of strong coffee.
She needed all the help to stay awake.
Mei Li came just as she finished her coffee. She quickly washed the mug and grabbed her backpack. She took a deep breath to calm down and even slapped her cheeks to stay awake. Then, after another deep breath, she walked to where Mei Li was waiting, in the car.
"Are you ready?" Her manager asked as she watched Ryn pulling the safety belt.
"Hmm..." Ryn was still sleepy, to be honest, but as she already gave her words to do it, she would do it. And, as she was someone who was a perfectionist when doing her work, she would make sure that her client would be satisfied and would not regret using her service.
No wonder so many brands wanted to work with her due to her work ethic.
It did not take too much time for them to be on the road. The traffic was quite clear even though usually it was time for people to come out for fun or do things after work. Ryn did not even have a long time for her nap during the journey when Mei Li woke her up.
"I'll find you some coffee," Mei Li said worriedly seeing how tired Ryn was. Maybe it was a mistake for her to answer the call just now. She should remember that Ryn just returned from overseas and has yet to recover from the jetlag.

"I... I'll stay here," Mei Li decided and told Ryn. She did not think she could leave Ryn and look for coffee when she was having such a bad feeling. If anything, she could do something to help Ryn.

"How is it?" Ryn asked without moving her lips.
"Everything looks good. Just that..." Mei Li paused as her upper teeth sank onto her bottom lip worriedly.
"What is it?" Ryn asked without even opening her eyes as the make-up artist was busy applying eyeshadow on her lids before carefully pressing some sparkles on the lids as well as other parts of her face.
"You have to walk on a glass runway... in the middle of a pool."
"So that's why..." Ryn murmured to herself. She now understood why the man insisted to have her in the show. She actually had the experience walking in that kind of runway two years ago right before she retired. She was worried at that time but luckily she managed to calm down and did her job perfectly without any incident.
