Both of them entered the building hand in hand. She tried to be more professional by walking behind him, putting some space between them but he refused. His hand reached for her every time they were separated and in the end, she gave up and let him hold her hand as long as he wanted.
Those who bumped into them quickly stood up straight and greeted them. Jeremy as 'Boss' and Ryn as 'Mrs Boss'. Ryn's face reddened as she tried to correct the greeting but Jeremy, who was so happy with the title, just replied to their greeting cheerfully and walked into the elevator while pulling her with him. He would not allow her to change the title into 'Miss Catherine' or worst, 'Assistant Ryn' which she decided to be called from today onwards. She should get used to the title of 'Mrs. Boss' because that was what she was going to become soon.
She quickly pushed his hand away when the elevator's door closed and blocked them from being seen by anyone else. She took a step to the right and crossed her arms as she looked at him. Her eyes narrowed.
"Shouldn't you, as the boss, correct back the way they're thinking about us? I am not Mrs Boss. I am Assistant Ryn," she growled. "I am your ȧssistant for these six months."
He cupped her cheeks with both hands and squeezed them lovingly. He then pinched her little nose before telling her, "Behave."
She snorted. How could he say that when she was being serious? Was he taking her as a joke?
"I'm glad you're no longer nervous. Let's go," he said as watched the door open. He walked straight to the office without insisting to hold her hand anymore. He gave her a chance to control her emotion before they met the others.
Jacob already arranged for everyone to wait in the meeting room so Ryn could be introduced to them officially. And just like what she wanted and expected from him, today, in the office, he would try his best to be professional and separate their personal relationship from the working relationship. Well, he did say he will try so he could not promise anything, though.
Both entered the meeting room. Jacob who was already waiting at the elevator quickly brought them there. He gave an ȧssuring smile at the nervous Ryn. He was relieved actually to know his boss would not skip from working during the tour and even excited to know that Ryn would be there to help him. Despite both of them being a couple, Jacob knew when working, Ryn would stay professional and serious. She would not allow Jeremy to skip his work and be in love with Ryn, Jeremy would just do whatever made her happy.
There was already an empty chair beside the chairman's chair. Jacob stood beside Ryn and smiled at everyone. Jeremy simply sat on his seat and looked at everyone. There was no smile on his handsome face. He was already in his working mode and it made everyone who was there, except for Jacob and Ryn, gulp nervously.
"Everyone, thank you for coming," Jeremy started after everyone sat down, including Jacob and Ryn. He clasped his hands and cleared his throat.
"I know that it is a crucial time for every one of us because of the merging but I believe that we can do this. However, it doesn't mean that you don't have to stay focused on your project. I will be watching all of you during the tour," Jeremy narrowed his eyes as he warned. "Jacob will send me your progress every single day and Ryn will help Jacob."
Every pair of eyes except for Jeremy and Jacob looked at Ryn. They knew her as the boss girlfriend. But to help Jacob? And wearing a working outfit today?
"Catherine will be my ȧssistant during the tour and anything happens, you can either tell Jacob or Ryn," Jeremy broke the news. "Any question? No? You can continue your work."
Jeremy stood up and walked to the door, leaving everyone trying to digest the news. Even Jacob and Ryn shared a puzzled look. Just like that? It has ended just like that? Shouldn't Ryn introduce herself first to everyone?
"Erm... Ryn will do her practical training here starting tomorrow," Jacob cleared his throat and introduced Ryn.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Ryn and I will help Jacob," Ryn introduced herself calmly. She smiled as she learned about everyone's name and position. She knew she would not be able to remember everyone but in a week or two, she would be able to connect their name and position to their face.
She chatted with them for a few minutes before Jacob brought her into Jeremy's office. She gave Jeremy a slight smile when he lifted his head from reading a file.
He stood up and went to Ryn.
Jacob quickly excused himself to give the couple some privacy.
"How do you feel?" he asked as he stroked her arms.
"Not sure. I'm going to stick close to Jacob today until lunch so he can teach me what to do and expect," Ryn replied. She lifted her hand to twist the pen and then tried to leave but he refused to let her go. "Jeremy."
"I haven't shown you around the office yet and you can't wait to go to another man," he muttered unhappily.
"Right now I am working. I can't just stay in your office all day long. Behave and let me learn before we go for the tour. I am not going to let my lack of experience ruin the company," she said and patted his ċhėst. "Behave."
"Fine. But you're not allowed to take a minute more from having lunch with me. Your lunch is mine," he said and gave her a kiss lightly. Then he escorted her to the door and opened it to reveal Jacob who was standing outside the room. "Jacob, teach her what she needs to know."
"Yes, boss," Jacob nodded.
"You, don't get too nervous," Jeremy rubbed the top of Ryn's head before he nodded at Jacob and then went back into his office.
"I've printed all the necessary things to do every day so you won't miss anything."
Ryn took the folder and opened it. She smiled to see how clear the instruction was and Jacob even made a daily to-do list including checking the email.
"I have sent you the password for the email. You don't have to take control of the official account because we have a team for that. Young Master also has the password," Jacob explained. He handed another folder, "This is the list of the ongoing projects that this company has."
Ryn's eyes widened to see the folder has several pages. Jacob put a summary of the project, the sum and the person in charge of each project in order to help Ryn understand them. He also separated the projects for the main company and here so Ryn would not get confused.
Jacob. really has worked hard to prepare all these for her.
"This is the list of telephone numbers for all the managers and the ȧssistants. I also include the contact numbers for the head of all departments for both companies," Jacob handed another folder to Ryn.
"Do you need a separate phone for work or do you want to use your number during these times?" Jacob asked. He knew that Ryn really liked her privacy and not everyone has her number, even in the modelling agency. Those who wanted to work with her would have to go through her manager first. Hence, he needed to ask early so she would not get too overwhelmed when her phone started to ring non-stop if anything happened in the company.
"I will get a dual-Sim card phone," Ryn decided. She was not in the mood of holding two phones, worried that she would misplace any of them. She decided to get a new number for work and this number could be shared with those important in the companies.
"This is the list of dual-Sim card phones. You choose first and then I will order it for you," Jacob, being the good ȧssistant he was, handed a folder to her.
Ryn's brows lifted until they almost touched the hairline. He has even prepared that? Was she being so obvious until he could guess what she would say next?
"For the numbers, you can choose between these ten numbers for your work phone number," Jacob handed another piece of paper. These ten numbers were already in his drawer. He went to buy the numbers yesterday once he knew that Ryn would come to the office today. It would be registered under the company's name, like usual.
"Ah..." Ryn was speechless. She really had no idea this was what waiting for her when she came to meet Jacob. She did not even manage to write a thing in her newly bought notebook.
