Chapter 578: A problem with communication

"Ryn, I have a plan for us already," he said.
"Jeremy," she sighed as she rubbed between her brows. Her appetite was gone now. She thought she could force herself to eat the cold food but when facing this childish man, she could not force herself to even swallow the food. She no longer felt hungry.
"Listen. I want to bring you to see the boys. I also want you to see what we're going to perform during the concert," he said, softening the tone. He did not want her to think he was forcing her. He wanted her to think it was her decision to follow him. He was planning to use his sweet words to make her agree to follow him to the studio. He wanted to bring her during the practice. He had been planning to bring her since the first day he joined the boys for practice. He even believed the boys could not wait to see Ryn again.
"You mean we're not returning back to the office?" she asked with a frown. She was worried that they would be late for the office when he actually already planned to bring her somewhere else. And he did not even tell her first. He should inform her first.
He sensed the unhappiness in her. He gulped nervously.
She clasped both hands and narrowed her eyes at him.
"You do realize the plan I have today," she asked coldly.
"Yes, you've come to the office so you can learn what you should do as my ȧssistant," he said slowly.
"And you think half a day is enough?"
He paused. He remembered how she was when they were younger. She was serious whenever she decided to do something and would do all she could to achieve what she wanted.
"Jeremy, do you want to do this? We're just having a nice day together," she asked. "I'm tired of us arguing over a stupid reason. I don't want us to separate in bad feeling."
"I don't want us to argue. I just..."
"When I agree for us to start again, I did say that apart of our ego, we have a problem with communication."
He forced himself not to comment about that. To interrupt her words. She did say that she wanted both of them to change for this second chance. That both of them needed to not repeat back their mistakes and communicate more often in order not to misunderstand anymore.
"When I told you that I want to learn from Jacob about my work, I meant that. I expect that you understand that I cannot learn everything in just less than 5 hours. I need more time but I only have like 2 days, J. Just two days to understand what I have to do."
Jeremy let out a sigh. He was so excited to bring her to his practice that he forgot to ask her whether she agrees to it. He forgot that she was like an empty slate as an ȧssistant in a company and he forgot to ask whether she needed more time to learn. Maybe because he always saw her being confident in her job and never did a bad job that he habitually thought that there was nothing for her to worry about when she started her training with him.
"Jeremy, I need to return to the office. I have so many things to learn from Jacob. I don't want people to say you're misusing your power to have me during your tour and because of my incompetency, the company lose money."
"My love, stop being so hard on yourselves. Don't put so much stress on yourselves. Don't worry. I'm there with you. I will help you," he took her hands and grasped them gently, trying to lessen the pressure she put on her shoulders. He never thought how scared she was, how much she worried that she would do a bad job.

"Jacob won't dump everything to you. He is still ȧssisting me. Your job is just to help him remind me about meetings and to read emails. Your job is to ensure that I don't miss any important meetings," he explained. He did not want her to think that her job was difficult. Jacob would still do his job despite not following him on the tour. Jacob would arrange the meetings and everything and then inform Ryn when it was and if it was not suitable or Jeremy did not feel to have it, Ryn could tell Jacob and he would postpone the meetings. Ryn did not have to do the hard work at all. Why would he pay so much salary to Jacob if Ryn has to take over his job?
He should just give that much money to Ryn instead if she has to do everything.
"I know that. But I..."
"My love, you're putting unnecessary pressure on yourselves. Don't worry. I believe you can do a good job ȧssisting me. Even if you have any trouble, remember I'm there with you. I will help you."
She sank her teeth onto her bottom lip. Why wouldn't she put pressure on herself? This was a new thing for her. She had no idea what to expect and whether she would not get flustered during an important time. She did not want to embarrass Jeremy and his family.

He checked the time and sighed again. He called for the bill and handed his card to the waiter. His food was unfinished as well but he knew he could not finish it in this kind of mood. Just like Ryn, he has lost his appetite.
"I'll send you back to the office." He took back the card from the waiter and stood up. He took her hand and together they walked to the elevator that would take them downstairs to their car.
The valet parked the car right in front of them and before the man could open the door for Ryn, Jeremy already took care of it. He helped clasping the safety belt for Ryn before he went to the driver's side. He thanked the valet as he passed some cashes for tips to the man.
Then, Jeremy drove the car away.
It was silent again.
He glanced at her a few times while driving and saw her frowning.
"My love, are you still worried?" He asked.
"Hmm..."
"As I said earlier in the restaurant, there is bothing for you to be worried about. Love, you are not alone. I will be there with you. If you have any question, you can ask me. You know I will help you with anything... with everything. You can trust me," he coaxed.
She let out a long sigh. She knew he was worried to see her in this condition but she could not help herself. She was so worried that she would make a mistake during her work and the impact it would have toward the company. She knew he would help her and would not let her do any mistake. Even if she did a mistake without knowing, he would help her to lessen the impact.
She knew it deep on her heart but she could not stop fretting over the future. She was no longer Ryn who was so brave and ready to face any challenges like when she was younger and dared to go to a completely new place in another country without any friend or family member, just a small ȧssistant to help her just because she was casted to do a runway during fashion week. Her manager that time could not accompany her because she had to accompany another model to another country. She was brave enough to meet new people in a strange place when she was younger because she believed she was the right person for the job. However right now, she was not brave enough to stick out her chin and say to everyone that she could be a good personal ȧssistant for Jeremy because she did not believe herself could do the job well as she has no experience working in a company environment, in a 9 to 5 work.
"Don't worry. You will also have Jacob on the phone whenever you meet any problem," Jeremy coaxed.
Ryn let out another heavy sigh.. She clasped her hands together harder as she tried to calm down.
