"You're up?" she asked him but she did not turn to look at him. She was busy making breakfast for them.
"Hmm..." he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her slim waist. She only had a tracksuit and shirt on her. He was expecting her either in her birthday suit or in her bathrobe. However, he would not reveal his unhappiness to her, though, because he did not want this romantic atmosphere to go away.
"Good morning, love," he whispered as he turned her head so he could claim her lips gently. He continued to press kisses along her cheek to her nape.
"Morning. Go brew the coffee," she ordered. She just finished the rolled omelette with chopped sausages. She was too lazy to cook so many times so she combined everything into the omelette.
He obeyed. He took out the coffee maker and started to make two mugs of coffee. Instead of using the old fashion jug to brew the coffee, he just used two capsules to make their coffee.
"You're going somewhere?" he asked when he noticed she was smelling fresh as if she got out of the bathroom.
"Hmm... I have a gig this morning. Mei Li will come to pick me up," Ryn answered. She knew better than to tell him the truth. That she was going to check on Harry. This boyfriend of hers could hold vinegar so large that two huge factories could not hold it. It was better to give a white lie than face his jealous tantrum.
"I thought we can go out... Like a date or something?" he suggested slowly. Despite always going out with her, it was not considered a date for him. He was either just a driver or for working. How could they deepen their relationship if all their meetings were working purposes? He deliberately forgot the fact that they just spent days holidaying with Mika and Jason, the newlyweds.
"I am busy. You are too. We need to finish everything before we start our journey. You can't skip any work and expect your father and sister to handle everything for you," she coaxed.
He tried to turn her around so he could use his manly handsomeness to change her mind but she pushed his hand away to concentrate on her cooking. She needed to be careful or roll would not look good.
He tried again but she shushed him and carried the plates of the rolled omelette to the dining table.
He followed behind carrying two mugs of coffee. He tried again but she went back to get toast and a bottle of milk. He watched helplessly when she seemed not to be interested in talking with him.
He waited in the dining room while she finished preparing their breakfast. He watched as she poured some milk into her coffee and stirred it slowly with a small spoon.
"Love," he started again. He was determined for them to have a date today. When else could he spare a day to have a romantic day with his girlfriend?
"Mei Li is on her way to pick me up. If I leave before you, remember to lock the door and switch off the light and air conditioner," she cut his words before he could start his persuasion.
His shoulders dropped sulkily like a spoiled little boy who was sad not getting what he wanted.
She ignored the sulking look from her boyfriend and concentrated on eating her breakfast. She could not waste time coaxing him when she has a busy day today.
In the end, he was the first to leave. She kicked him out after breakfast with a promise that she would send her location from time to time to him.
She rubbed her back with a scowl. He was too enthusiastic last night that her back and waist were still sore.
Mei Li just reached the front door and did not have the chance to ring the bell when Ryn opened the door without warning.
"Morning. Have you had your breakfast?" Mei Li asked as she eyed the model. Ryn looked well-fed so her mood looked good.
"Morning. I've eaten. You?" Ryn asked back. She checked the light for the living room and nodded to see all dark. She locked the door and looked at her manager.
"I've had my breakfast. If there is nothing more, we can go pick Harry up," Mei Li said as she checked her watch.
"Let's go."
Both women went into the car. After Mei Li started the engine, she sent a message to Harry to tell him that they were on the way.
"So how is your preparation for the tour? Are you nervous?" Mei Li asked suddenly.
"Not nervous. It's more like I want it to end quickly so I can graduate quickly if you know what I mean," Ryn said with a frown. The juggling between her work and study was getting harder now even though she did not have to attend class but she felt like it was much harder when she needed to learn on her own. It felt weird not learning in the class. She did not know whether what she understood was the correct one or she misunderstood the notes. Of course, she could not always disturb the lecturers with questions. She was the one choosing to juggle study with work so she has to show everyone that her decision was correct.
"Let me know once your practical end officially so I can plan your work," Mei Lin said without thinking.
"What's wrong?" Mei Li asked in a puzzle to receive such a look.
"You do realize that my contract will end soon after my practical training finish?" Ryn reminded.
"Wait... What?" Mei Li cried. She did not remember this at all. Why does nobody remind her about this important info?
