Braedon looked over all of the soul crystals he had just obtained. He removed them one by one from the box and placed them into different piles depending on their grade. It was easy to tell which was which thanks to the difference of color and size. The higher the crystal's grade, the deeper shade of gold it was.

Finally in the end he had counted up seven medium grade crystals, twenty low grade, and one hundred classless. He wasn't sure what the conversion rate was, but he believed that this was quite the sum.

He rubbed his hands together, like a merchant about to make a huge deal. Braedon believed that he should be able to break into the second realm with all of the resources he had collected. He grabbed the classless crystal and tried to absorb the energy from it.

It flowed into him smoothly and felt extremely crisp. He didn't feel the usual invasive feeling he got from taking pills but instead it felt like it belonged there. Almost as if it was a piece of him that was missing but had now returned.

The process was much slower than taking pills but it had no side effects. Braedon believed that it was better to take things slow and safe rather than quick but packed with dangers.

He spent the entire afternoon absorbing one fifth of the classless crystals and completed his foundation for the first realm fourth stage. Now all he had to do was get to the fifth stage and breakthrough completely into the second realm.

The increase of his strength made him feel dizzy. He felt as if he was literally drunk on power. He hopped around his house to release some of his energy and while jumping he heard the doorbell ring.

He walked over and opened to door to see Zan Fu standing there.

"What a surprise, mr. young master."

"Shut up." Zan Fu laughed at Braedon's remarks and he invited himself in. Braedon brought over some drinks for them, and Zan Fu gave Braedon some note and materials from the classes he had missed for the last few days. "Considering everything, you will easily get high scores on any exams to come."

"Maybe... why did you come to visit anyway? You almost never comer here unless you need a favor or touch as some big news." Braedon raised up one of his eyebrows questioningly.

Zan Fu looked at him as if he was hurt, "Can't I just visit a good friend for fun?"

"No"

They had a good laugh at this until Zan Fu finally placed his cup down, "This time it's big news. My clan is planning on an expedition into the dungeon and I'm allowed to bring a friend over. Of course the only one that I could think of is you."

"So how about it? Am I a great friend or what?" Zan Fu placed out the back of his hand as if telling him to kiss it.

"The worst." Braedon smiled as Zan Fu punched him playfully in the arm. Afterwords he questioned Zan Fu on what this expedition would entail.

"In dungeons there are several floor that go deeper into the earth. Each floor contains monsters as well as treasure. At the end of all of these floors is the room that contains the artifact. A powerful monster that couldn't even be compared with creatures on the upper floors is usually guarding this room. We call this the boss room."

It was a simple explanation that reminded Braedon of a video game. Basically the expedition is a large group of cult Gators worker together to clear the upper floors and the treasures is split among the groups. But the boss room is left to the one who initiated the dungeon and the treasure is given to them.

All who participate must make an oath to the heaven not to attempt to steal it from the initiators for the next few days. A broken oath will force the heavens to act and destroy the oath bearer's cultivation.

Zan Fu wanted for him and Braedon to become a group and see if they could gather their own treasure from the upper floors. Gathering would be easy as long as they avoid the really strong monsters and just grab the treasure.

"Of course some of my cousins will be coming along with us, although I still worried about you since your cultivation is only in the first realm first stage." Zan Fu freaked out and jumped out of his chair when Braedon released his suppressed aura.

"What the-! It's only been a week. How? When? Why?" Zan Fu looked at Braedon as if he had just shot a man. To Zan Fu Braedon looked like a freak. "You are a monster."

"I'm surprised you're not tying me up and threatening me this time." Braedon chuckled aloud and brought his aura back in.

"No, I learned my lesson. Plus when your "heaven's force" feels a little different then most cultivators, so that's a way I can tell the difference between you and a fake." Zan Fu sighed worriedly. At this rate, he will be passed up by Zan Fu in just a year or two.

Braedon smiled happily at Zan Fu worries and kept silent about how his speed in cultivation was only due to luck.

"I guess this will make it easier for you on the expedition then. So are you coming or what?"

Braedon quickly considered it and nodded, "Yeah, I'll join. When is it anyway?"

Zan Fu pulled out a small book and flipped through a few pages before finding a date, "It's four days from now on September 22nd. So by that time you should try to consolidate your strength and prepare yourself."

Braedon thanked Zan Fu for the advice and just as Zan Fu was leaving, he noticed a strange medallion on Braedon's counter, "Hey Braedon, what's that thing you have over there."

Reason looked over to see the medallion Yi Bai had given him, "It's just a small gift that a friend of mine gave me after I helped him out. Why is there something wrong with it?"

Zan Fu just gave off a smirk as he walked out the door, "No, there is nothing wrong with it. Nothing at all..."

After returning to his house he looked out the window toward the mansion where his parents lived. He decided to live in an apartment since it was closer to the school he went to, much to the disappointment of his parent. But he had a well paying job and he could afford it. Plus it didn't get in the way of Zan Fu's training, especially since the apartment had a high concentration of "heaven's force" in the air.

Zan Fu thought back to the golden medallion on Braedon's counter.

"The Yi family huh? Sometimes I really do wonder if he was secretly a cultivator all this time? That speed in cultivation, his connections, and his luck. If Braedon had started when he was young, he would've long surpassed me by now."

Zan Fu took out a soul crystal from his pocket. It was a high grade crystal since its color was a very deep shade of gold. Zan Fu started to absorb it as he quietly thought to himself.

"I need to get stronger!"
