In the blink of an eye, a man in black attire flew down silently from the air and knelt in front of her.

Zhao Ling looked at him, he was about twenty years old, a young man who looked thin and handsome.

"Subordinate Xue Hao, the secret guard of the Xuanwang Mansion, has seen the princess."

Zhao Ling nodded, it seemed that she guessed right, Meng Yuan had been sending people to protect her in secret.

"Get up." Zhao Ling was not used to someone kneeling in front of him and talking, "You did it just now?"

"Yes, princess. I saw that the princess was frightened, please forgive me." Xue Hao got up and lowered his head and replied.

"Thank you for your help just now." Zhao Ling nodded lightly. Although she believed that she was capable enough to protect herself just now, Xue Hao's action saved her a lot of trouble.

"I don't mind the trouble, princess."

"You don't need to report to the lord about today's affairs." Immediately, she instructed Xue Hao.

Zhao Ling didn't want Meng Yuan to know that he was almost taken lightly by Meng Yun. If he knew, with his temperament, she didn't know what kind of rage he would be in.

Xue Hao felt that he had never been so entangled in his life. As the secret guard of the Xuan palace, he should naturally obey the orders of the prince. When the prince sent him to secretly protect the princess, he had ordered that every matter must be reported one by one. But for such a big thing today, the princess said he didn't need to let the prince know.

This... how should he be?

Fortunately, Xue Hao wasn't a dead brain either. The princess only said that she didn't need to report to the prince, so he shouldn't be disobeying the princess' order by reporting to the commander.

He was so smart. Xue Hao was about to cry at his wit. He turned around and reported the matter to Yan Mo.

So, that night, Meng Yuan knew that Meng Yun intended to be frivolous with Ling at the Duke's Mansion. He was so angry that he twisted and deformed the armrest of the wheelchair.

Meng Yun, since you want to court death so much, don't blame this king for being ruthless. Meng Yuan's eyes reflected a particular cold light in the dim candlelight.

Zhao Ling naturally didn't know these things, and Meng yun's episode didn't have a big impact on her. Laying on her long-lost bed, she slept well all night.

Early the next morning, Zhao Ling planned to go to the Xuanwang Mansion to discuss with Situ Gong about the medical book Old Man Duan had left for her.

The old man Duan was known as both medicine and poison master, and the book he left to Zhao Ling was the essence of what he had learned in his life, and it was a good thing. It was a pity that Zhao Ling didn't know much about Chinese medicine, so he couldn't fully understand the contents of the book.

But Situ Gong was different. For Situ Gong, who was devoted to studying medicine, the allure of this book was no trivial matter. She remembered that when Situ Gong saw this book, his eyes lit up with excitement and he swallowed hard. Just because it was Zhao Ling's thing, he could only stare greedily.

Zhao Ling was not a person who hid secrets. In modern times, she was used to being a teacher and brought out batches of interns from the forensic department.

In her opinion, the purpose of learning medical skills was to cure diseases and save people. If the medical books left by Duan could be learned and used by more people, then more people could be cured.

She believed that if old man Duan was still alive, he would definitely support her in doing so. She really couldn't figure out why the ancients always liked to get secret books or something of sorts. Apart from adding some mystery, what practical use could it have?

Of course, she also wanted to know the progress of the development of Situ Gong's antidote to the cold poison. Xiaojiao's blood was the last material to lead to the medicine, and it needed to be used fresh. So after Situ Gong had prepared the antidote first, it could be reconciled with Xiaojiao's blood.

There was one more thing, but she was reluctant to admit that she was a little worried about Meng Yuan. Since this guy entered the palace yesterday, there had been no news of him. She asked Xue Hao, and Xue Hao said that the prince had not returned to his own palace since he entered the emperor"s palace.

So, did he actually stay in the palace for a whole day and night? Could it be that Emperor Mings condition has changed?

However, just when she was about to stop and wanted to go out, someone came from the palace.

Here came a young eunuch. In front of the people who were kneeling on the ground to receive the decree in the whole room of the Duke's Mansion, he loudly conveyed the Emperor's decree in his own sharp voice. "Zhao Ling, the eldest daughter of the Duke's Mansion of Xuan Zhao, immediately needed at the palace."

Zhao Ling had never been to the palace before, except for the one time he visited the Forbidden City in modern times. Sitting in the royal carriage chair specially prepared for her to the palace, swaying all the way, made her a little drowsy.

She didn't know how long it took, when Zhao Ling was busy fighting to keep her senses from the sideways rocking, the carriage chair stopped steadily at the gate of the palace. The little eunuch outside the door's sharp voice came again: "Miss Zhao, please get off the carriage chair."

After the carriage stopped, Zhao Ling was dazed for a moment before returning to normal. She opened the carriage and got out into the dazzling sunlight, making her eyes narrow uncomfortably.

This was the entrance to the palace of the Dasheng Dynasty.. The palace was built at the southern end of Shengjing City, and all the palace buildings were eaves and bucket arches, gilded copper tiles, shining with dazzling light in the sun, making them extraordinarily magnificent.
