Suddenly, Juin felt danger heading toward him. When he looked up, a fiery fireball was heading toward him at such quick speed that he only had a split second to react.
Moving on reflex, he grabbed the n.a.k.e.d little fairy and dodged aside.
BAM!
The fireball hit where he was sitting before dissipating.
Juin looked back at the disappearing charred marks on the ground, and then at the little fairy that was safely in his hand.
"What…" Angered, he then glared up at Lucifer, who was also glaring at him angrily. "What the hell was that for!!!"
Lucifer floated down quickly, moving so fast that a blurred image was all that Juin could see, until he stopped just an inch away from Juin. Using a finger, he poked Juin's c.h.e.s.t as he snapped, "You lied to me, didn't you?! You talked to that accursed soul more than what you told me! What else did he teach you?!"
"Yik…" the little fairy in Juin's hand cried out when Juin clenched too hard.
"Oops…" Juin quickly opened up his hand. The moment he did so, it flew up and away from Juin and Lucifer, getting out of harm's way.
"Look at me!" Lucifer snapped when Juin's eyes moved to look at the little fairy, and when Juin looked back at him with an annoyed expression, Lucifer asked angrily, "Tell me! What else did he tell you?!"
"N-Nothing!" Juin said, taking a step back. "He only taught me that spell!"
Juin didn't know why he was lying to Lucifer or why he wanted to protect that little secret with Hades, but at the moment, he could not think straight. And he did not like how Lucifer was making it his fault; as if he were the one who woke Hades from the shackle-induced sleep.
"Why would he teach you such a disgusting spell if you didn't agree to exchange something with him? Did you agree to do something evil for him?" Lucifer snapped. "Maybe I should kill you before you—"
However, Juin was already offended by Lucifer's insinuation that he might agree to do something evil for someone else.
Something hit him, and he narrowed his eyes at Lucifer as he asked, "Where did I do wrong here?"
"You think what you did was right?!"
"If it's not for me, the little fairy would be gone forever!" Juin did not know where the courage was coming for, but a fire was burning within him, and he was unwilling to back down. He stabbed Lucifer's half-n.a.k.e.d c.h.e.s.t and snapped, "At least this way, its soul would be preserved! And you are a demon king! What evil are you talking about here when you are the evilest of all!"
Lucifer glared at him.
Poof!
Flames appeared on both his hands, causing Juin to step back instinctively.
A huge part of Lucifer wanted to burn the guy in front of him once and for all, yet the rational part of him held him back. "If you think that I'm evil, that guy could be even worse than me!"
"How would you know?" Juin demanded to know angrily.
"He can kill someone by taking their soul, and now, you have learned that vile spell from him as well!" Lucifer snapped, flying up into the air.
Now he knew why Juin was able to conjure the spell even though he was low on soul power. It was because that was his innate strength. He probably did not even need the spell, and that Hades was just trying to control him by making him think that a spell was necessary.
"And how would you know what he could or could not do?" Juin asked. His eyes narrowed curiously at Lucifer when Hades' warning about Lucifer appeared in his mind. "What are you hiding from me?"
Hearing that, Lucifer immediately clamped his mouth shut.
"Maybe Hades is trying to make me say something…" Lucifer thought as he glared at Juin, who was glaring back at him as well.
Needing some time to cool off, he then turned away, and in a cold voice, he said, "You're on your own."
He then flew off into the distance until he completely disappeared from Juin's view.
"A*shole…" Juin muttered after Lucifer was completely gone. He then dodged when a flaming arrow with electric arcs around it flew toward him at lightning speed. Rolling his eyes, he then sat back down on the ground.
From aside, the little fairy looked at him for a long time with curious eyes before slowly floating over, keeping a safe distance between them.
Juin waited for it to approach him before putting a palm out and pointed at his palm with his other hand.
The little fairy looked at his palm, then at his face. It then nodded before landing on Juin's palm daintily.
"Huh… I thought I saw wrongly earlier, but you really have no genitals…?" Juin mumbled as he looked at the fairy.
Affronted, the fairy quickly covered its body up. It then looked at where Lucifer disappeared to and c.o.c.ked its head.
"Ah, he will be fine. He's the demon king, you know. Demon kings are all arrogant and bad-tempered, so just ignore him. Anyway, I'm sorry that I have to do this to you…" Juin said as he reached out with a finger and rubbed the little fairy's head with a sad expression. "I didn't want to cause so much trouble for anyone."
The little fairy looked at him for a few seconds before sighing sadly. It then shrugged. Placing a hand on Juin's palm, it then closed its eyes.
A small golden light burst out from its tiny palm, and at the same time, Juin felt a little nudge in his mind. He frowned, but eventually, he relaxed his mind a little and allowed the foreign presence.
A smile appeared on the little fairy's face, and when it opened its eyes again, it looked at Juin with its wide innocent eyes.
"It's alright. Even if you don't pull my soul away, I would still be dead."
"Huh…" Juin thought his mind was playing tricks on him because the fairy's lips did not move at all when he heard the sentence. He then gasped when he realized that the little fairy was talking to him telepathically. "That's so cool!"
"It's one of our natural talents, and it helps us to bypass language restriction," the little fairy transmitted to Juin. It then flew and sat on Juin's shoulder.
"Oh… That's a good power to have," Juin said as he nodded. "By the way, were you trying to fix my body?"
The little fairy nodded; it then shook its head. "I was trying to fix your soul... but I couldn't. There seems to be some sort of a blockage."
"Blockage?"
The little fairy then explained the situation with Juin's physical body. Once it finished explaining, it said, "Your soul is actually getting stronger as I tried to fix it. I think that the reason why your body is bleeding nonstop is because it is undergoing some changes."
"Oh?"
The little fairy nodded as it continued, "Yes, that must be it. Your soul is getting stronger, but your body is too weak to contain it. Hence your soul is repairing the body from within. It's rare, but I have heard about this from our elders before."
Juin blinked. He then massaged his glabella as he thought, "Science no longer exists ever since I stepped into this world."
