A bright reddish glow appeared on one side of the wall, and a vine-like hand quickly shot out and grabbed onto Juin's abdomen, pulling him into the wall before disappearing as quickly.

At the same time, the walls of boiling magma shot up again, covering Luca and Wolfe's sight. When everything finally settled down, they glanced at each other.

"He succeeded, right?" Wolfe asked in uncertainty. He looked into the now calmed boiling pool of magma. There was no sign of Juin anywhere… unless, of course, he had completed melted and was now part of the red pool. "The walls mean that a spell has been activated, right?"

Luca hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Should be."

They then exchanged another glance before gesturing and saying, "You first!"

"Come on, Luca, you are the team leader, so you should take the lead," Wolfe said with a feigned smile.

"As the team leader, I should stay back and make sure that all my teammates are safe. Juin had gone in, so now, it's you. Don't worry. You will be safe."

Wolfe raised a brow and said, "That's not very assuring when your stupid wind hand is right behind my back."

He then glanced back, and sure enough, there was a wind hand ready to grab and throw him down should he try to run away.

"No, the hand is there for precaution…" Luca smiled slightly. "In case you fall backward. Now, please go ahead."

He then signaled him to jump.

Knowing that he had no way to back out of this, Wolfe looked at the shoes that Juin gave him. He then grabbed onto the black dagger that Juin put in his care tightly. To avoid losing it, Juin had tied a rope around the scabbard before tying it on Wolfe. The dagger was now resting snugly against Wolfe's c.h.e.s.t.

Taking a deep breath, he removed his soul shield that was still active. He then put a foot forward, but almost immediately, he pulled it back again.

Seeing this, Luca could not help but roll his eyes. He then said, "Enough!"

And…

BAM!

"ARGGGGGGHHHH!!!" Wolfe yelled as he stared at the flaming pool of magma. He then quickly covered his face with his arms to protect it against the random flaming rocks and hot ashes.

Looking into the volcano and at Wolfe who had now fallen deep into it, Luca cupped a hand and used it as a loudspeaker as he shouted, "Remember not to activate your shield!"

As Wolfe got closer and closer to the pool of magma, he could not help but roar out. Parts of his body was burned by the fiery rocks that hit him. And as he got closer, he seemed to be unable to focus no more.

His eyes rolled back as a spectacular scene suddenly happened.

Out of nowhere, black fur started appearing on his body. First his face, then his arms and legs. His ears elongated, fangs protruded, and his claws were fully extended.

As he neared the magma, a bright reddish-orange diagram appeared on the wall, and a vine-like hand shot up to grab him, just like how it had grabbed Juin.

However, there was a difference this time.

He suddenly felt a pressure within him, one that demanded to be released. Images of people and creatures in weird attires flashed past his mind, and worse, their deaths! In a split seconds, it felt as if he had seen hundreds of thousands of deaths.

"ROAAAAARRR!!!"

Wolfe's head felt like splitting apart at the moment, prompting him to grab onto it, as if he were trying to stop it from splitting into two. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to will the pain away.

And when he opened his eyes, the vine-like hand had already wrapped itself around his abdomen.

Red flames, along with the tangled vines, reflected in Wolfe's eyes, which had turned completely black, including the whites surrounding the pupils. The creature with the vine-like hand seemed to be able to sense some sort of danger from Wolfe, and it quickly pulled its hand back.

"ROOOAARRR!!!" Wolfe roared before chomping down onto the vine-like hand right.

He then got pulled into the diagram right before his feet could touch the ground.

By the time the walls of magma settled down again, it was Luca's turn to jump in. By now, he had already toughened himself up mentally, and he jumped down.

"Where… am I?" Juin thought when he finally opened his eyes. His last memory was of him plunging into a fiery death. "Did I… survive?" he asked himself as he sat up on the equally white floor.

No, that wasn't a normal floor.

"Sand…?" Juin grabbed a handful of the white material that he was sitting on. "This is sand…"

It was odd. He had never seen sand so white before. And it was completely camouflaged in this weird space.

Dusting the grains of sand off his hands, he then looked around.

White.

White everywhere.

"Am I in my Soul Dimension?" he murmured as he scratched the back of his head in confusion.

"No, you're not."

Thinking that it was Lucifer, Juin quickly turned around and said, "Your Majes--"

However, his words were stuck in the back of his throat, and he quickly took a few steps back before calling upon flaming balls and getting on an offensive position.

"Who are you?!" he snapped as he stared at the grinning creature that appeared behind him all of a sudden, in a crouch position, nearly giving him a heart attack.

When he turned back earlier, thinking that he would see Lucifer, what he saw was instead a… human. He wasn't sure whether that thing was a human. Everything about it looked human, but at the same time, nothing about it looked human.

The creature's face had a nose, a pair of semi-pointy ears, a pair of green eyes, and a mouth. But its hair was various shades of green, and its teeth, which Juin could seen through the grin, were light brown instead of the normal white.

And the most unique thing about it was the appearance of its skin. Its skin was in various shades of brown; some parts were so dark that they appeared black while others were so light that they appeared nearly white… Not to mention the rings on its skin.

These weren't physical rings. Instead, they were part of the skin. Each of the rings was so close to each other that if not for the way the creature appeared so close behind Juin earlier, he would have missed them.

Staring at the creature's face, Juin was reminded of the tree in his primary school. When they cut down the tree to make way for a new school building, Juin had asked his teacher about the rings on the cut-down trunk.

At that time, his primary school teacher taught him that those rings could be used to find out the age of the tree. That night, Juin had searched for the rings of the oldest tree in the world, but that was nothing compared to those on this guy.
