On the second day of the festival, mother called me to accompany her to meet someone. I had no idea, who we will meet.
After omelet breakfast, we changed the magic in our dresses for them to look more formal. It wasn't complicated magic for us dragons, since it required a lot of mana and focus.
Back at the island, when I was practicing this kind of transformation, I ended up naked. My grandmother at the time laughed at my embarrassed face. It took me many tries to perfect it, but in the end I managed to succeed.
As we walked out of inn, mother turned towards me and an evil smirk could be seen on her face before continuing. This was when I started to get worried.
Our destination was central area of nobles. Why would she meet some noble? I was in deep thought as we walked through the crowd. It still was only second day of the festival after all.
Entering the noble district, we continued walking towards the wall. It was right then, when I realized she isn't going to meet just a noble.
In front of me, the was the castle wall with several guards on standby. Only one person could live there.
My mother handed them some weird card with a name Alicie Silver - Rank S.
After few minutes, we got permission to enter.
Wait! Wasn't that a gild card? But more importantly, she is rank S!?
Seeing me puzzled, she gave me her typical smile. Mother, you have more secrets, don't you?
We got guided by one of the gate guards towards the guest room. I could hear murmurs like 'Isn't that Silver Death' and 'What is she doing here?' among the knights training in the area we walked through.
I gave up on thinking too much, as I followed my mother and the guard.
We entered the room big enough to house even mother's dragon form. It was neatly detorated in gold while in the middle, there were expensive sofas facing each other. This was probably guest meeting room.
As I was observing the room, the guard bowed and before leaving, he uttered words that spelled trouble "His majesty will be here shortly"
Mother just nodded and sat on the sofa as I followed suit. I wanted to ask something, but as I was about to, the door opened. What came into view was a blonde haired man in his late thirties beeming with smile.
"Alicia! Long time no see!" he rushed towards my mother. She probably found it annoying, so she answered "Not for me"
He stopped for a while before saying
"Cold as ever"
He sat on the opposite sofa and while looking at me, he asked
"And who is this little cutie?" while leaking with curiousity.
"My daughter, who else would it be?" she was annoyed.
"Don't be so cold, we were in the same party...and who is the father, Fred or Jonas?" he asked. He was looking at mother with look of a dear friend.
"She's obviously Fred's daughter. Do you think I would have a child with that creepy Jonas?" she emitted a small amount of killing intent.
"I don't know what dragons are into..." he smiled at her. As he said that, mother started to emit even more killing intent than before.
Seeing this, he quickly spoke "I'm joking, I'm joking"
"Enough of chit-chat, I'm here for the quest details" mother cut straight to the point.
"If I knew that you would be taking the quest, I could've saved more money from not issuing royal emergency quest" he sighed.
What does he mean by royal emergency quest? Seeing me confused, he smiled and answered the question in my mind.
"Ah, I haven't properly introduced myself, have I? I'm Elasticius Cast von Fleania, but your mother calls me Elast"
