Just as he had begun to walk away toward the Bears’ area, a sound came out from within the cave, forcing him to turn back around and listen more closely.

Myeonghu smiled expectantly, as he waited for the Great King Fox to come out and greet him.

But after waiting for a few minutes, it had yet to appear.
“Why aren’t you coming out?”
He had clearly heard the sound coming from the cave, but unlike the other times it didn’t come out to challenge him.
“I guess I’ll have to go in….”
Having lost patience, he decided to go in himself and have look.

Just as he was about to step inside, he heard two different cries. Myeonghu stared at the cave entrance curiously.
“Did I hear wrong?”
Albeit somewhat confused, Myeonghu continued to head inside.

As he approached he once again heard two distinct roars, just that this time it was even more clear.
“What… could there be two of them?”
It sounded unbelievable, but it seemed like the only plausible explanation.
Myeonghu smiled to himself and continued towards the cave enthusiastically. Others might have been frightened by the thought of encountering two Great Fox Kings, but for him it was only a blessing.

The roars were getting louder and it sounded like they were fighting, which brought an ugly expression on his face.
“I shouldn’t let any of them die!”
Myeonghu sped up in a bid to arrive there earlier.

But it was at that very moment that a Great Fox King rushed out of the cave. Myeonghu stopped in his tracks and took a good look at the monster. It was heavily injured and bleeding profusely from the right side of its face, appearing to be running away from a losing fight.

The Great King Fox which had been fleeing didn’t hesitate to strike out with its paw to Myeonghu who was directly standing in its escape path. Myeonghu however stood there confidently after having seen its injuries.

After allowing the paw strike to land on him, Myeonghu examined his health bar. However, upon noticing that the Fox was getting ready to slash once more, he sent out a fist of his own.

The Great Fox King collapsed down to the floor miserably.

Myeonghu quickly picked up his loot and look back at the cave entrance. Soon after another Great Fox King stepped out, but this one was completely uninjured.

Seeing it with no injuries to its pelt brought a smile to Myeonghu’s face.

After stepping out of the cave, it looked at the dead fox slumped at Myeonghu’s feet. It then lowered its center of gravity and pounced towards its new target.
Myeonghu howards casually stepped over the corpse and walked towards it as the new Great Fox King sprinted forth.
He kept a wary eye on the fast approaching fox, his fist formed but he didn’t strike first.

Upon arriving before him, it immediately slashed out with its front paw, moving at a speed which completely exceeded that of the three Great Fox Kings he had previously hunted.

As he endured the Fox’s strike, he kept an eye on his health bar.
‘About 800?’
Although it was the same attack he had endured from other Great King Foxes, it dealt twice as much damage. Seeing it about to strike once more, Myeonghu finally made his move.

Landing a quick punch to its stomach and a hook to its ribs, the Great Fox King was caught mid motion and fell down to the ground.

He picked up all the items but the last one drew his attention seeing as it was the first time it had dropped. He first stored them all in his inventory and then took a look at the item description.

This is unlike any common fox’s claws as it is imbued with a magical power which unlocks a special forest.
It was a literal key, Myeonghu became excited as he stored the item away and looked inside the cave.
“It should be somewhere here right?”
Since it dropped here then it was likely for the entrance to be somewhere in this cave.
Myeonghu walked inside, his eyes peeled for any abnormalities.
“Too ordinary….”
Despite staying vigilant the whole time, he didn’t discover anything out of place and he didn’t find a place to use his new key.
“This is a dead end.”
After walking through a relatively short corridor, he arrived at the lair of the Great Fox King. It wasn’t a large room with a radius of just 7 meters. He stared at the walls carefully but didn’t find anything.
“What should I do….”
He was debating between spending more time investigating or returning to hunt the bears.
“Let’s try to find it.”
Eventually he decided on finding the entrance to use his key as he began to meticulously go through the room, leaving no stone unturned.

He let out a disappointed sigh, he had searched the room top to bottom but didn’t find anything that might be connected to his key.
“I guess I’ll go catch some bears then come back to look once more.”
He stepped out of the room and headed towards the surface, when he spotted something from the corner of his eye.
“Huh?”
On the left passage wall, just as he exited the lair was a slight depression. It was quite hard to spot because of the darkness, but as he ran his hand over it, it was quite noticeable.
“It’s about the same shape….”
He fished out the claw from his inventory and inserted it into the hole. It sunk in perfectly, going in all the way and filling the crevice as if it were now a smooth part of the wall. Then, magic began to pulse from the claw as a circle began to form on the wall

A bright oval impression appeared on the wall, driving out the darkness.
“A portal….”
Myeonghu stared at it as he thought about the situation. He has no idea where it would lead him to and it could possibly be a very dangerous area. Still, he really only had one option. After all, if he were to back down now, then what would have been the point of spending all this time to search for the entrance.
“Let’s go!”
He cried out decisively as he stepped through the portal.

It lit out in a brilliant light, before disappearing after he had gone through.

Arriving in this new and unknown land, he couldn’t help but feels nervous as he stared at the lush green grass and overgrowth.
“Where is this place?”
As he walked ahead he realised that the trees and bushed were getting thicker and that he was heading deeper into the forest.
‘Not good.’
It would be foolish to walk into the deep parts of a forest which he had no information about, so he turned around and went back to where he had come from.

Just as he was about to start walking, he heard a noise and froze, not daring to breathe. Although the sound felt like it had come from far away, Myeonghu still stared at his surroundings warily.

He then heard the sound of footsteps and the rustling of branches as it became louder and louder signifying its proximity. Myeonghu swallowed nervously as he stared at the direction the sound came from.
