But, what kind of a sin did I commit? One was the guy who annoys me and the other was the recipient of my bad mood.

Liam must've told him that he's with a friend as they both turned to me. I raised my glass in acknowledgement. Why should I hide? The guy politely smiled then both walked towards me. Good! We're both acting.

'What's with you? What do you want?' I felt the need to guard myself as they come close.

"Iris, let me introduce you to Ellis Yi, a good friend and a senior of mine." Liam said as they came. "Ellis, this is Iris Lin, daughter of Rainier Lin."

"Miss Lin," the guy extended his hand "Pleased to be your acquaintance."

'Why are you acting like you don't know? You even came to my party. And stop with the 'pleased' when you're a poker face.'

I took his hand and returned the greeting, "Me too."

Seeing that we were getting acquainted with no problem, Liam stepped in and explained, "Iris it's like this. Remember the call before? I need to go to my father's shop and help him with some matters. I spoke with Ellis here so he could help me send you home." All along he was cautiously reading my face.

Now that's nice of him. He accompanied me first before going to work. I smiled at him and said, "Then thank you for keeping me in mind. I just hope I won't be taking your time Mr. Yi." I looked at the guy briefly trying to feel his attitude.

To my displeasure the guy said, "I've already agreed with Liam so I can't back out now." I instantly frowned and felt my temples throb.

'Let me put plasters on your mouth'

"Hey be nice, she's also a friend." Liam prods him with his elbow then turned and apologizes to me. "Sorry, he's just joking. This is just the way he is so please don't get offended.."

Too late, I already did but so Liam could save his face then.."I am not. Don't worry." I put on again an amicable smile.

"Shall we go then?" The guy immediately asked.

'At least say sorry like Liam. AaRgh! So hateful.'

"Okay. Iris let's go?" Liam was waiting for me while the guy already started to move. I could only say 'sure' on the surface then follow them to the parking lot. But in my head Mr. Yi already died a few times.

I sat on the back passenger seat and kept quiet during the whole ride. Aside from not knowing the right topic to start a conversation with them, I wasn't feeling well. I was supposed to look around and find come clues to help me go back but here I was sitting on a car and being sent home. I am like a thief being escorted by the police. I know it wasn't the best choice to run into Liam.

He first sent Liam to the furniture store then started his engine again without speaking with me.

After a few moments I asked him to stop at a corner. We already went past the intersection near the furniture store so I decided to get out of his car. After all, I don't want to take much of his time lest he sulk and reprehend with no reason.

"No." He told me after asking him nicely.

It's not like there was a 'no parking/no drop off' sign in that place so I can't help but ask "Why?"

"I promised to Liam I'd send you home." He told me.

Applause! This guy knows how to keep his word.

I looked at his face through the side view mirror and said. "Even if you send me now, I'd still go out later. Don't you think it's best if you just drop me off here now?"

"No, I'd send you home. What happens later got no connection with me." He said so frankly that it irritates me.

'Fine, I'll just go out again later'. I had rolled my eyes in my head so many times I felt dizzy. I quietly pressed my head at the window and directed my attention to the cars outside then unconsciously started counting the numbers of the cars we passed and in a few minutes I recognize the street we were in.

I won't question how he'd knew my address as he was invited to my party but the guy did send me home. He honked at the gate and saw me entered the estate before driving away.

When his car was already out of my sight, I told the maid who came to fetch me at the gate "Get me some flats, I need to change my sandal." She looked at me not understanding why but I just dismissed her and remained at my spot.

After some time, she came with another maid holding few flat sandals. I picked one that was easy to wear and comfortable to my feet then ask one of them to hold me while I change my wedge.

"Help me put them back inside." I told the maids after successfully changing my sandal. "Open the gate for me, please." I said to our guard.

"Miss?" All of them asked with their face confused after all I've only returned.

"I want to walk." I told them. It's not a lie as I'm really planning on walking to the roadside. It's only a few minute away any way.

"Then I'll get someone to go with you." One of them said.

"No need. It won't be long; I just really want to walk."I insisted.

They were looking at each other seemingly asking with their eyes if they'd believe me and if they'll oblige to my order. A few seconds later, the guard finally opened the gates.

I walked straight without looking back. I figured our estate was close to the roadside because that's what it seemed whenever I rode a car but I was wrong. It took me half an hour to go out. I regret not asking the driver to send me.

I stood where the pick up sign was and waited for a taxi to come. To my surprise, a private car stopped in front. The window was rolled down then a voice came.

"You were not kidding when you said you'll go out again aren't you?"

I blinked twice then went at the back of the car and looked at the plate number and yes it was the same as that guy's car.
