Feeling the intense gaze of Shawn Qin on her, Su Yin shuddered inwardly, getting the creeps from his penetrating pair of brown eyes. She gobbled up the cheesecake cake in one big bite and stood up, leaving the strawberry pie and coffee tasted by the man aside on the table.
"Hey! What happened?"
Pushed into a mode of abrupt panic, Shawn Qin grabbed Su Yin's wrist making her go crazy mad. His grip vice like.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Leave my hand.."
Su Yin instantly hit the roof due to Shawn's actions. She was glaring straight into his eyes as she spoke.
"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry, where are you going?"
Immediately releasing the grip, Shawn Qin apologized profusely with a panicky expression. It really irked Su Yin, to the point she inwardly considered kicking his shin and make him scream like a banshee.
"Do I have to report everything to you? Seriously! You're getting on my nerves Shawn.."
Picking up her bag, Su Yin was incensed beyond words as she blasted without any concern for the man. It was vexing how Shawn's been pestering her too much these few days, both at office and outside of work.
"I'm sorry.. Let me buy you something as compensation, OK?"
Interrupting Su Yin who was ready to walk out, Shawn tried to appease her anger and proposed softly. Like an elder coaxing a tantrum throwing child.
Wrong move! It wasn't going to work on the stubborn girl that Su Yin was.
"No thanks!"
Huffing, Su Yin turned around without any hesitation and left.
"Ah! How can I win your heart Su Yin?"
A helpless Shawn mumbled to himself while staring at the receding figure of Su Yin. His gaze held a desolate emptiness, an intense yearning to conquer Su Yin for life.

When Su Yin arrived at the Lu mansion after getting annoyed by Shawn Qin, the sky had darkened. The ethereal radiance of the setting sun engulfed the entire place into an orangish golden glow. It was soothing and pleasing to one's eyes, and heart.
After greeting the elders and Aunt Zhou, Su Yin made her way to Sera's bedroom. The latter was sprawled on the lavish bed in her cute pajamas with cartoon print. She was sluggishly flipping a magazine while sipping on her drink. It was a freshly squeezed fruit juice.
Still in her work clothes, Su Yin gently took off her white blazer revealing a lilac blouse in silk and threw it on Sera's face. She even threw her silver heels on the carpet before jumping on the bed.
"Yinyin!"
Shocked, a giddy Sera bounced on her bed as she sat up and hugged Su Yin, who was now smiling from ear to ear. Completely different from her prior frustrated self, when facing the annoying past, Shawn Qin.
"What are you upto? Why didn't you contact me after returning back from your trip?"
Peeling away, Su Yin questioned with her usual whiny manner, trying to gain Sera's attention.
"Aw.. I missed you too!"
Glowing, Sera smiled cutely and pulled onto Su Yin's plump cheeks till they turned pink, making the latter scream in pain.
"Shut up! Who missed you? I'm just asking if you still remember that I, Su Yin, your bestfriend is well and alive.."
Pushing the tiny hands away from her now red face, Su Yin said. Albeit a little dramatically.
"My, my.. Our Yinyin is acting cute"
Laughing at her best friend's actions, Sera teased Su Yin until she could see smoke coming out of her ears and head. She was furious.
"Oh please! If I want, I'd act cute with my boyfriend and not you.."
Puffing her cheeks, Su Yin crossed her arms around her bust seemingly upset with Sera. She turned her face to the side.
A light bulb went off in Sera's head as soon as she heard Su Yin. She'd totally forgotten about Su Yin and Adrian.
"Really? So, everything's well with Adrian and You? Did you guys patch up? You sneaky rat.. Why didn't you tell me? Huh?"
An excited Sera blasted the sulking Su Yin with a tonne of questions, irrespective of her brooding expression. Her big doe eyes were sparkling like diamonds as she grinned.
Gulping a mouthful of her saliva, Su Yin turned back to an enthusiastically smiling face of Sera and felt mildly apologetic. She even smiled a wry smile, her eyes droopy.
"I.. I forgot.. Wa.. Wait! When did I ever tell you about Adrian? And how did you know that we got together? What's happening Sera? What are you hiding from me..?"
Realization hit Su Yin after a couple of seconds and her dark pupils dilated in shock. She quirked her brows apprehensively, her gaze inquisitive and laced with suspicion.
'Oh! Shit..', Sera thought in her head and her smile cracked. Her face devoid of any expression.
Quick on her feet, Sera smartly cooked up her excuse and presented it to Su Yin, in a silver platter decorated with all kinds of jewels and gems. Her heart palpitating against her ribcage, wildly.
"I.. I saw you guys that day and you, you'd sometimes call out 'Adrian' in your sleep.. Yeah! That's right, that's what happened.."
Sera heaved a sigh after seeing Su Yin's doubtful gaze and fishy expression tone down a little.
However, Sera's relief was short-lived as Su Yin started again.
"You saw us? And yet you didn't try to stop, really Sera? What if he was some bad man, some obsessive stalker or a freaking rapist??!"

"Uh? That.. I was sure that he was a good guy.. And also, the wallpaper in your phone is actually his picture, So don't try to fool me!"

Letting out a couple of awkward coughs, Su Yin was embarrassed to the core and felt guilty for hiding things from Sera. She held the latter's hands that were pinching her cheeks moments ago and expressed her apology.

"It's okay dummy! I'm happy for you.."
Giggling and laughing, Su Yin hugged Sera tightly. It was heartwarming.
