Mia had been down in the dumps, but as she ate lunch and chatted with Souya, she gradually recovered her spirits and began to smile.

“I owe you a debt of gratitude, Mia-kun. In return, I’ll share my knowledge with you when I’m not busy adventuring. What you’ve learned will serve you well on your future adventures.”

“…… I’d like it If you can teach me, Souya-san. What can you teach me?”

In response to Mia’s question, Souya pondered for a moment.

“…… First of all, let’s start with arithmetic. I’m sure you can do addition and subtraction since you have a money account, but it would be helpful if you could do some more complicated calculations.”

“Arithmetic? …… I think I can do up to ninety-nine. Will I be able to do more than that?”

“You’ll be able to. Mia-kun doesn’t seem to have a bad memory, and I used to teach people when I was younger, so don’t worry …… Well, in the meantime, I have to study a subject I’m not very good at.”

“…… What is your weak subject, Souya-san?”

“Modern history. I have no idea what has happened in the last twenty years. Maybe you know more than I do.”

Souya and Mia finished their meal at the restaurant and returned to the adventurer’s guild. More than an hour had passed.

Perhaps they had already concluded their conversation with the client, but Randy’s party and the village-like client were not at the Adventurer’s Guild.

“Louise-san. We’re here to reissue my blank-class adventurer’s card.”

“I’m sorry to keep you waiting, Souya–san …… Did you have dinner with Mia? Pasta?”

“…… Oh, how did they know?”

“Hmm, it’s on your cheek.”

Louise reached out with her finger and wiped the dirt from Souya’s cheek.

“…… Sorry about this. I’m sorry I’m such an ugly uncle.”

Souya took out a hand mirror from the dimension box and smiled bitterly when he checked it.

“Come on, Mia, don’t you think you should point this out to him?”

“…… I’m Sorry. Souya-san, I got carried away with the conversation.”

“No, no. I didn’t notice it either. I went out of my way to buy a hand mirror because I thought it was important to be well groomed, but I shouldn’t have done that.”

“You’ve gotten to know each other very well …… Here, Souya-san.”

Louise handed Souya a blank-class application form that she had prepared in advance.

“Well, even if you reapply, you still have to do the same thing.”

""

Louise showed a bit of fatigue in her expression. Was it difficult to coordinate the request she had just made? The current Ilstadt branch seems to be giving a lot of discretionary power to Louise, who is also a platinum-class adventurer. I wonder if this guild’s branch will be able to continue without her.

“Louise-san, you seem to be tired. I’m sure you’re the key to running the guild, but please take care of yourself …… Speaking of which, did Randy-kun and the others end up taking care of the request? I’m sure he mentioned something about goblins or something.”

“Yes. The Windbreakers, the people who break the wind, have accepted.”

“Windbreakers?”

“That’s the name of their party. They’re a fixed group.”

“So that’s what Randy-kun and his party are called. That’s a fancy name.”

The name reminded Souya of cold-weather sportswear, but since it did not exist in this world, he did not mention it.

“The village was attacked by a group of monstrous monsters that appeared to be goblins, and three villagers were kidnapped. The goblins have taken up residence in an old fort about an hour away from the village. The mission is to defeat the goblins and rescue the villagers. That’s the request.”

Louise showed Souya the request form that outlined the details of the request that the Windbreakers, led by Randy, had received.

“Kidnapping of villagers? It’s a problem since it’s not just a matter of killing goblins.”

“…… That’s the thing. For a goblin, they’re using their heads.”

“The goblins have a leader. Is that right?”

""

A pack of goblins with a leadership role is more likely to have a superior species, such as the goblin shaman or the goblin lord. Even though both of them were goblins, they were troublesome to deal with due to their high combat power and intelligence.

“Yes …… Normally, a goblin should be handled by a bronze-class, but due to the situation and the content, I’ve decided to use a silver-class or above.”

“In any case, Mia-kun and I were not able to take it. Well, we just got back, so we’re planning to rest now …… If they’re a Silver-class, then Randy-kun and the others must be pretty good.”

“Randy-kun is the only Silver-class of the Windbreakers. The other three are still bronze-class. He is a descendant of the Evil Dragon Slayer Anselm and a user of the Holy Aura. He’s got pretty good sense.”

I thought that as a descendant of the hero Anselm, he would have some training, but it seems that he really was good with the sword.

“…… Oh, by the way, I have a message for you. Thomas-kun said he was sorry to you and Mia. That large man with the bow.”

“Thomas …… Ahh. Him. The hunter.”

Souya remembered the large man with a small voice, carrying a longbow.

“Yes. Randy-kun and Thomas-kun, as well as Rebecca, are childhood friends from the same village. He’s the one who has to apologize for Randy-kun’s rudeness …… Well, it’s a lot of work. There was the Mia incident, but there were also times when they clashed with other adventurers because they were too proud of their abilities.”

Louise sighed. I wonder if Randy is also a source of trouble for her.

“It’s true that he can be a bit overconfident. I’m sure he has the ability to do so.”

“Yes. The Windbreakers have a 100 percent success rate at this stage. There aren’t many people who can make it all the way to Silver-class without a scratch. He’s got the results to prove it, and he’s highly respected in the guild …… That’s why I’m worried.”

It seems the Ilstadt branch has high expectations of the Windbreakers too. And I can understand Louise’s anxiety about Randy, who has a dangerous attitude.

“…… Well, Hero Anselm was a sexually liberated man. Maybe the heroes are the ones who go their own way …… By the way, Louise-san, can I borrow an empty desk in the guild? I’d like to let Mia-kun use it.”

“Since Mia is a full member of the guild, so of course you can. What are you going to use it for?”

“I wanted to teach Mia-kun something while waiting for the request. I can’t just borrow money from her and not do anything with it.”

At Souya’s explanation, Louise smiled and looked at Mia with a slightly torn expression.

“Mia. Nice one …… Souya-san seems to be pretty smart, so get him to teach you well.”

“…… I’m a little worried. I’ve been praying a lot and not studying that much, after all.”

Mia told Souya and Louise that she was worried.

“It’s fine. I’m sure you’re not stupid. I hope you don’t mind me meddling with you during break.”

“If it will help you relax, Louise-san, go ahead …… Oh, there’s a visitor.”

A man who looked like a client appeared at the entrance of the guild, and Louise went back to dealing with the reception desk. Another group of adventurers also came from the side of the tavern passage. It looked like they were going to be busy coordinating their requests again.

“Well, well, well, looks like she’s busy …… Oh no. It looks like I’m going to have to put off my blank-class application again.”

Souya sat down at an empty table, took out ink and pen, and began to fill out the application form.
