Souya once again looked at the list of characters on the second page of the tale of the six heroes that he had picked up, and at the cover.

Twenty years had passed since then. It is no wonder that a legend has become a biography. However, Souya couldn’t help but have a question.

(There is no author. Who the hell wrote this ……)

“…… Aisha-kun. The author of this story, is it the Bishop, Ranak the Ashen?”

Souya mentioned the name of his former companion, who seemed to be the most likely author. It was the only person he could think of who might write such a biography.

“Ranak-sama of Ashen is now the Archbishop. He is the chief administrator of the Temple of Luster, God of Knowledge, in the academic city of Runes …… He is my great benefactor and the pride of my homeland.”

Aisha speaks happily about Ranak. If he is a great benefactor, then he probably knows her.

As I had somehow expected, she was from Lunes, which is known as an academic city. It was one of the three major cities on the continent where the power of the god of knowledge, Luster, was strongest and where the adventurer’s guild had its branch.

And an acquaintance of mine, Ranak the Ashen, seemed to have achieved great success in Lunes. However, the fact that he had reached the highest position of Archbishop of the God of Knowledge Luster, was not surprising considering his talent.

“…… Ranak-sama denies that he wrote the Tales of the Six Heroes. We do not know the author of the book …… But, he said that it must have been one of the other five companions who wrote the book, possibly the missing Silver Rei …… I think so too.”

(…… What?)

He felt as if he was being shown a black history notebook, and was hesitant to start reading the story, but at Aisha’s words, Souya couldn’t help but turn the pages. He read quickly. The third page. Page four. The fifth page ……

As I read through to the twelfth page, I somehow understood why Ranak and Aisha assumed the author to be Silver Rei.

The heroic stories are written in a format called third-person single-perspective. And the story had started from Rei’s point of view.

The magician Rei up to the twelfth page, the encounter of two people, Ares, later called the golden hero, and Fiine, called the white saint, is written.

The fact that Rei was working as a solo adventurer until he met them was largely left out. Of course, there is no mention of the otherworld transfer.

“Who in the world would write something like this?”

Souya’s eyes widened in surprise, and a mutter escaped from his mouth.

“…… Who, you say, didn’t Silver Rei write it, as Aisha said? I’ve read the story in a book, but I thought so too.”

Merylou, who had been watching me read through the book, said. Souya realized that he had let out a mumble and hurriedly began to think of something to say to make up for it.

“No …… From the looks of it…”

Souya looks at page 12 again.

The scene where the magician Rei rejects the recruitment of the hero Ares and the saint Fiine. He vaguely remembers it, but he thinks it was close to what Souya actually muttered 20 years ago.

(So is the author either Ares or Fiine ……? Or perhaps someone heard this anecdote from the two of them and made it up. No, even so ……)

I can’t put my finger on it. It’s not as if the hero and the saint were interested in writing these mundane tales, or that they would leave them to someone else without asking permission from their friends and without adapting them to humiliate them.

At least it wasn’t written by the hero or the saint. Souya was certain of it. But of course, the author is not the Silver Rei they think it is. Souya felt compelled to deny the theory and opened his mouth.

“…… This boy Bei seems to have a distrust of people …… I wonder if he would ever write a story like this? I think he’s trying to highlight the exploits of the hero and the saint by borrowing the perspective of the missing Rei. “

Souya said in a low voice so that his emotions would not be understood.

“Distrust of people …… Oh, that page is in the scene where the brave Ares and the saint Fine invite the magician Rei. “A hero and a saint, huh. How nice of you …… But I don’t want to be the center of attention. Can you please get out of my sight right now.”.”

The topic of conversation turned to the day after tomorrow and the day after that, triggered by the word “distrust of people”.

Aisha, perhaps having memorized the dialogue from the story, recited the part of Rei’s words, imitating the voice of a young man. Souya couldn’t help but frown when Merylou clapped her hands in amusement, as if her performance had hit the spot.

“…… Instead of distrust of people, I think he’s the kind of guy who thinks it’s cool to have darkness in his heart. I’m sure he’ll regret it when he grows up. “

Merylou muttered a negative opinion about Rei’s character.

Souya also agreed with her opinion. He is a young man who resents the fact that he was born into this world and considers himself to be unhappy. And regrets it. I never thought that I would be humiliated like this after twenty years.

“I love SIster Rosalind the most. She is strong, kind, proud, and beautiful. In the story, there is a description of Sister Rosalind as being in love with Rei, but if Rei wrote it, it must be his convenient interpretation. And Sister Rosalind was angry with it and denied it.”

(…… Is that kind of thing written too?)

“I think it’s cool and amazing, you know. The Silver Rei. I’ve heard that the six heroes were all good-looking …… The best guess is Ranak-sama, though. It seems that Ray was a good opponent and rival to Ranak-sama. He was very disappointed that he had disappeared …… Don’t you think that kind of relationship is great?”

Merylou and Aisha were excited about the story of the Six Heroes. Merylou seems to be in favor of the Wood Elf’s spirit arts user, Rosalind the Rose. From the way she spoke, it seemed that she was acquainted with her, an adventurer of the mithril-class.

Aisha’s is Ranak the Ashen, who became the Archbishop. It’s not surprising that they would recommend them, as they share the same hometown, the same faith, and they claim to be their benefactors.

(This isn’t good …… I feel like dying.)

Souya managed to keep his eyes moisturized while remaining expressionless, and when he sighed so as not to be distracted, he closed the tale of the six heroes and held his face with his glasses.

I felt my heart palpitating. It was completely unexpected that I felt so sick just by reading through 12 pages. I don’t want to read any more of this right now, right here. From the looks of it, there was a good chance that Aisha had read the story, and there was a chance that she would come up with some more unpleasant descriptions.

However, I may need to track down the author of the story. How accurate is this heroic tale, and why is it written from the perspective of the Silver Rei. Souya, of course, had no recollection of writing anything like this.

“…… Hmm, I saw the play of the Six Heroes in the royal capital. I think I would prefer the hero and the saint after all. Hero and heroine. I think the popularity of the story is concentrated on these two people …… Well, if there was a merchant hero, I would have recommended him, but it seems impossible for a merchant to defeat the Gold Demon.”

The client, a peddler named Peryton, participated in the Six Hero Talk.

Souya knew the story of the merchant who resembled Peryton and became one of the heroes, but it was only a story from a game he had played in the past. It would be difficult for him to aspire to be a hero who would defeat the Demon King like this.

And apparently, in the royal capital, the story of the six heroes is also the title of a play. From the way he spoke, the hero and the saint were probably the main characters in the play.

“Peryton-san like the hero and the saint, huh. By the way, does Mia-kun know about The Tale of the Six Heroes?”

Merylou asked Mia, who had been listening to the conversation in silence.

“…… Yes, I know it. I haven’t read the books, but I used to look forward to the songs of the bards who knew the stories every day. Each day the story progressed a little bit, and I would go back and forth to hear the rest.”

Apparently, Mia also knew the Tale of the Six Heroes. It’s also the main topic of the bard who travels around the world, so it seems safe to assume that the story has been passed on all over the world.

“…… Who do you think would be best, Mia ……? Is the Hero, after all? The saint?”

In response to Merylou’s question, Mia pondered a bit.

“…… Well. They are heroes who saved the world. I think they’re all wonderful, but if I had to pick one, I’d say the Silver Rei. Like Peryton-san, if the priest of the Earth Mother Goddess Mikaela had been one of the six heroes, I would have picked for him.”

“Huh?”

“Silver Rei?”

Merylou and Aisha looked at each other in surprise.

“That’s unexpected. I thought that Mia would definitely choose the golden hero …… oh, sorry. The hero is…”

Aisha held her mouth with both hands.

She might have known that Mia was once courted by Randy, the hero, leader of the Windbreakers, and that she had a hard time with him. He was sacrificed to summon the Silver Demon at the request of the old fort and lost his life.

“Aisha-san, this has nothing to do with Randy-san …… When I recalled the bard’s song, I felt that the Silver Rei was a kind person who cared for his friends. I looked forward to his activities and went to hear him sing.”

Mia smiles softly as she reminisces about her memories.

“…… Well, depending on how you look at it, there may have been some aspect of it …… I see, so Mia likes the kind of person that likes to act cool …… Hey, Souya.”

When Merylou looked at Souya, he had the book by his side and was sitting on the floor with his face propped up on his knees.
