Chapter 6 Su Mei in Danger
“Mei, your joke isn’t funny. Is he a staffer from your company? Anyway, you own a cosmetics business, but the taste of your employee’s appearance doesn’t live up to the brand. Look at his T-shirt—what an old one, faded from being washed too much.” Lin Feng stepped out from his car, and made fun of Ye Tian, humiliating him.
“I’m not joking. He is my husband.” She smiled at Ye Tian and inquired of him in a tender voice, “Honey, he said I am joking about our relationship. Why not show him the truth?”
Her teasing voice and posture made Ye Tian malleable, almost losing his soul for her. Without any careful thought, he caught her shoulder and kissed her.
What an exciting experience!
He smelt her fragrance again.
Though their lips separated immediately the moment they met, Ye Tian felt himself totally out of control; all his blood rushed to his head.
Su Mei was astonished at his mistake and tried to push him away without thinking. She’d planned to ask Ye Tian to take out the certificate of their marriage. She had no idea this was the sort of proof he had in mind instead. When she saw Lin Feng, who was still staring at them, the action of pushing Ye Tian away slowed down. Though she hated Ye Tian, she took no further action; she had to finish this drama.
“Don’t you want to take a look at our certificate to witness our marriage?”
Lin Feng was burned by his own jealousy; he found out the direction they came from was really the bureau office.
“What? Why did you marry him? I have better family, education, appearance, and capability, so why did you reject me and go for him? Look at this poor guy—his salary can’t even cover one of your facial masks.”
Lin Feng went crazy, for he had put so much effort into Su Mei. She was from a big family, and the cosmetics business was only her personal play thing. He had planned to win her heart and meanwhile get her family’s wealth. However, a good-for-nothing had snatched her up out of nowhere.
How could he not be angry and envious?
Su Mei didn’t have a good impression of either of them, and she couldn’t wait to escape from them immediately. After a while, she got an idea and asked Ye Tian softly, “Honey, somebody is looking down on you. Why not talk to him and show your real capability? I’ll be waiting for you in my office.”
She took down his hands from her shoulders, and hailed a taxi to leave.
At the same time, Ye Tian heard the familiar system notification.
“Congratulations! You have received thirty-five marks of Dog Food.”
Ye Tian was so happy to receive so much Dog Food that he totally forgot Lin Feng and ran to chase Su Mei, who’d already entered a taxi.
“Come back, you!” Lin Feng took his collar and yelled, “Tell me the truth! Su Mei lied to me, right? She used you as a shield?”
“Yes, I am a shield. Don’t waste my time.” Ye Tian’s mind was occupied by the idea of chasing Su Mei, without caring about her plan to keep this man far away from her.
“I guessed as much!” Lin Feng laughed arrogantly. “How could such a girl fall for you, someone so out-of-fashion and useless. But you dared to kiss her just now, so let me give you a lesson. I will break your arm which held Su Mei’s shoulder just now, and if you bow down to apologize to me, I will let you go.”
“Are you insane?” Ye Tian sighed and went on his way after failing to catch Su Mei’s taxi.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of wind rushing from behind. Instinctively, Ye Tian spun his body and his right foot kicked at the object coming for him.
Crack!
A clear bone-breaking sound arose, and then the poor yelling of Lin Feng.
Hit!
Ye Tian was trying to come back to warn him when an unexpected system notification sounded:
“Warning! Warning! Su Mei was kidnapped and taken to the warehouse in the south of the city. Come save her, or the unused Dog Food will be cleared.”
She was kidnapped?
Ye Tian’s heart became anxious. He could see that Su Mei had a bad impression of him, but the misunderstanding didn’t mean Ye Tian would allow her to be in danger.
“Son of a bitch! You dared to kick me? Do you know who I am? You will regret this later.” Lin Feng was staring at him with malicious eyes. “How dare you beat me? You know nothing about our differences. Wait for me to break your arms and legs!”
At first, Ye Tian thought it was urgent to save Su Mei and wanted to let him go. But when he heard the rich second-generation was so rude and cruel and he threatened to break his arms and legs, he could not bear to listen anymore, and turned back to glare at Lin Feng, who’d just stood up.
“What . . . what are you planning to do? Let me warn you . . . if you dare . . . ”

Before he could finish the sentence, Ye Tian raised his leg for a kick. Lin Feng’s belly was badly hit and he covered his stomach as he went down.
Ye Tian ran toward the direction of the warehouse in the south of the city. The warehouse was not far away, but it was in an isolated, difficult-to-find place. Taking a taxi would waste his time. His concerns came back to rely on the system.
“Lottery, I need the lottery! Hurry up, system!” Ye Tian shouted.
Besides, Su Mei was his wife now. This beautiful girl had been caught by some kidnapper; everybody knew what could happen. Ye Tian became even more anxious when the big screen finally appeared before his eyes.
Now he had more than eighty marks of Dog Food. He had planned to have this lottery when he’d earned 100 marks. But now the urgent situation forced him to move up his schedule.
If Su Mei died, all the marks would be cleared.
