Continuing Shizuku’s POV*

When the crown prince said that, he offered us a meal again.

I didn’t feel like eating anymore, but when I saw Ash Claude-san start eating, I also put the soup in mouth.

The soup was like seafood broth was a little cold.

In the end, Thruster-san didn’t come even after he we finished eating, and he’s probably still fishing or talking to the poachers.

I could go back to the inn, but Ash Claude-san suggested, ‘How about looking for something you want to show to Isarai Shina?’

Since Shina-san only mentioned the wharf and the area around the inn, she shouldn’t have come to this area near the other side of the wharf.

When I think about what kind of things will make her happy, my heart lifts.

When we left our seats, another group of women gathered by the crown prince’s side and he decided to stay.

Strolling around the port town, I found cute miscellaneous goods shops and crepe stalls.

Ash Claude-san wants to find a flower shop and go there with Shina-san.

When I was doing that, it became evening, and Thruster-san finally joined us.

“I am late.”

We gathered at the café terrace again.

Thruster-san handed several sheets of paper to the Crown Prince.

“This is the conclusion of the business negotiation and the procedure for delivery to the royal capital in the future. It is an illegal trade that is not reported to the lord or the country. For the time being, you can him for it. Only a few people know that pearls are magic stones so far, so I’m not going to apply the illegal possession and sale of magic stones that is severely punished yet. You can do it after you make new laws and regulations.”

“Okay, I got it.”

“However, although they knew the profit from selling pearls so far, but they didn’t know the other party. They sold it to tourists on the spot, so there is no such thing as a customer list.”

“After returning to the royal palace, I have to work on laws and regulations, and I’ve got to search for pearls that have already been circulated. . . . I don’t like it. I have more work to do.”

“I’ll have you do that much.”

Thruster-san said firmly to the crown prince who frowned.

Then, when he quickly lifted his glasses, he looked at me.

“Thanks to Shizuku-sama, things went very smoothly. They were completely convinced that the daughter of a nobleman was traveling incognito. It seems that taking a walk here without going back to the inn has become a material for increased credibility.”

“. . . I was being watched.”

“Yes. It seems that he had his subordinates keep an eye on you from a distance. It seems that they were also following Volvi and Ryleigh, but they didn’t do anything suspicious other than defeating the magic fish, so it seems that they were seen as sightseeing. It seems that they have already stopped watching. I was able to hear the reports from his subordinates, so it was useful for grasping the situation.”

“My information should have been useful, too, right?”

“That’s right. Thanks to playing loudly with the women, no one thinks that such a fool is the crown prince.”

“Haha! I’m good at camouflage!”

The crown prince laughs and returns the paper to Thruster-san.

Thruster-san put the paper in his pocket and muttered, ‘Now.’

“Let’s arrest all those involved with the poachers. Zezgard should have already delivered the letter to the lord. He should arrive here at dawn.”

Apparently, Zezgard-san wasn’t just running away from women, he was also on a mission.

. . . The poachers will never know it because even we don’t know it.

“Well, if I go on a rampage, it’s over! It’s 20 ordinary people. . . . . . It’s boring. It will be over quickly.”

“Then, do you want to wait until the knights arranged by the lord come?”

“Absolutely not! It’s no more interesting to do nothing!”

Saying that, the crown prince stood up from his chair.

“Let’s go! Who will guide me?”

“I have paperwork.”

“Then, I will.”

Ash Claude-san stood up at the words of the crown prince.

“Alright! Let’s go on a rampage together! But, I want to enjoy myself as much as possible, so I want Ash Claude to mainly tie up defeated enemies with ropes!”

“Understood.”

The crown prince and Ash Claude-san leave.

I think it would be dangerous for just the two of them to get into the hideout, but judging from the Cron Prince’s attitude and Thruster-san’s state, he probably decided that it was possible.

From the crown prince’s point of view, it might be a fun event. . . . But I don’t understand.

“Then, let’s go too. Shizuku-sama should also be called to the central square. I’ll send you halfway.”

“Yes.”

It would take thirty minutes to walk to the central square.

Despite its name, it is located fairly close to the wharf.

“In Shizuku-sama’s world, pearls can be harvested from shellfish.”

“Yes.”

“Apparently, it’s different here.”

“. . . . . Really?”

“When they were fishing, they used nets to sweep the sandy bottom and directly looked for pearls.”

“Directly. . .”

“I asked if they were looking for shellfish, and they laughed and said, ‘We’re chasing ghosts.'”

“Ghosts. . . . . .?”

“Yeah. Where there are rumors of ghosts, there are pearls.”

Those words made my heart flutter.

A ghost that cries, ‘I want to see you, I want to see you.’

A voice that only Shina can hear, ‘I want to see you, I want to see you’ transmitted from the pearl.

. . . What is that ghost is the source of the pearls?

What if Shina-san is involved in something again?

“I-I’m going to tell Shina-san!”

I make a fist in front of my chest.

Maybe I don’t have to worry about the fluttering in my chest.

But I should tell her as soon as possible. I have a feeling that. . .

“I thought I could tell by looking at Shizuku-sama’s reaction, but the ghost might be the correct answer after all. Shizuku-sama’s premonitions are often correct.”

Thruster-san said so and fixed his glasses.

“Right now, she should be at the inn with Ryleigh. I heard that he was invited to the central square, but his current whereabouts are unknown. I’m going back to the inn as it is. I’ll tell them if I meet them.”

“Then I’ll go to the central square. . .!”

“I also heard that Volvi has been helping with the disposal of the magic fish at the market since noon. Ryleigh is nearby and Volvi is on the sea side. And I will go to the inn, and Shizuku-sama will go to the central square. . . . Normally, nothing should happen, but she’s not normal.”

“. . .”

Yes. Shina-san easily gets involved.

That’s why I have to go quickly. . .!

It was a waste of time to talk with Thruster-san, so I immediately ran from the spot.

“Shina-san. . .”

I hope you are still at the inn.

That way, Thruster-san should be able to tell the story in time.

“. . . Ha”

You can stay with Ryleigh-kun in the central square.

If so, the two of you should be having a good time together.

“Ha. . .”

What if something happens and you approach the sea. . .and get caught up with some kind of ghost. . .

But if there is a polar bear knight there. . .!

“. . .Ugh”

Probably because I started running at once, the area around the pit of my stomach became painful.

But don’t worry, put your foot forward.

“I’m fine. . .”

Because I’m ‘God’s Beloved Child’. . .

I have never been unlucky since I came to this world.

I was eating a luxurious meal in a luxurious room in the royal palace.

Compared to that, Shina-san. . .

“. . .Ha”

It’s only natural to lose your breath when you’re running.

Breathing faster and faster and rougher.

After running for five minutes, my body becomes heavy, and my weak heart feels like it will break.

“. . . ha. . .”

I have to tell her. . .

Shina-san always gets caught up in a lot of trouble.

The only thing you need to be careful about is knowing that it’s a ‘ghost’, and the danger will surely decrease. . .

“Ha. . . Ha. . .”

I want to stop.

I want to walk and catch my breath.

You don’t have to be so desperate.

“. . .Ha”

As if throwing away that feeling, I clenched my fist tightly and put my foot forward more than before.

Once again, the speed rises sharply.

“Shina-san. . .”

Ever since you came to this world, it’s been hard. . .

Even so, Shina-san was always smiling.

Thank you for saying ‘it’s okay’.

Thank you for making me laugh and say, ‘It’s fun.’

. . .Thank you for sharing your kindness.

“. . .I can run.”

. . . If it’s for you.

Even if it’s exhausting. Even if it’s painful.

I can run anywhere.

I wonder if the ghost it actually a mermaid? As they said in a previous chapter, pearls are sometimes referred to as ‘mermaid tears’ after all. The ghost is said to be a beautiful woman, and whatever grabbed Shina had arms. One more chapter and then we return to Shina’s pov and hopefully find out.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for reading!
