Today is Friday. The fighting tournament’s the day after tomorrow.
Yesterday, I went to the atelier, kept up with Elle’s long conversation, got to know Fia a little better, and bought more antipoison pills.
I could go to the forest today and hunt for treants, but I’d like to level up Tina a bit more. I haven’t been to the ocean yet so I think I’ll go there.
“There’s something eerie and scary about the ocean at night. I feel like I’m being sucked in.”
“Kyui!”
“Hoh?”
“Meh”

The forest at night was scary because it was pitch black, but it’s a different kind of scary. If you look up, you can see a beautiful, unobstructed starry sky. But if you look out to sea, you can see a jet-black ocean that seems to absorb you forever and ever. Maybe we should’ve come at noon. Then we could have seen more beautiful scenery. Or evenings.
But the only person I can share my fear of the ocean at night with is Tina, who’s clinging to my back and shaking.
Boparu is playing on the edge, trying not to get hit by the waves that come and go.
Mizuki is calm as usual, and it’s rather owl time at night.
And Aigis isn’t sensitive enough to worry about such things.
…But still, there are no enemies. Just outside the meadow is a sandy beach, and the rest is ocean, so the range of activities is too small. We can’t just charge into the ocean, so we’re all wandering along the beach, but if we don’t, it’ll just be a night time stroll on the beach.
Well, it’s nice to have a day like that once in a while.
“Bukbuk!”
While I was thinking that, a part of the beach rose up and turned into a big crab.

The crab appeared a short distance away, and when it saw us in front of it, it moved its legs to close the distance between us…moving directly forward.
No, if you’re a crab, you need to walk sideways! Why are you walking straight at me!

“Buku!?”
Oh, he’s dead.
When a monster finally comes out, Boparu happily jumps on it and uses its momentum to smash it and crush it.
Well, this is what level 3 is all about. Even Tina or Aigis can win on their own with plenty of time to spare, but when Boparu shows up, it’s way more than overkill.
So, let’s go for a walk.

I walked around for a while and didn’t see anything but crabs, so I guess crabs are the only things that spawn out on the beach at night. We need to go out to see for anything more than that.
Mizuki and Tina can fly, and Boparu can run at least the ocean with his right foot before his left foot sinks, but Aigis and I can’t. I don’t want to swim all the time so I’ll come back when I have the means to get out of the water.
“…Now, what do we do?”
“Hoh?”
I think it’s Mizuki who’s mimicking me, stopping at the point where I sealed the last crab and twisting her head in a hmmm.
Boparu and Aigis are digging holes in the sand to see what’s fun.
Tina seems to be enjoying herself as she repeatedly charged and slid down the pile of sand that was building up.
“I finished exploring the ocean, or rather the beach, earlier than I expected. I’ve got some subtle time left over.”
“Hoh~”
If we hurry, we can make it deep into the forest? I have about an hour to spare. But if I wait a little longer, it’ll be noon. Maybe.
I haven’t been able to seal many monsters in the daytime due to bad luck. Specifically, I haven’t been able to seal monsters in the mountains, deserts, oceans, and deep forests. That’s almost all of them, isn’t it?
Oh, and I’ve beaten the boss of the mountain, so I can go deeper into the mountain. But I also want to go hunting for Treant because I promised Ren-kun that I would…

I gather my thoughts and look up to see Aigis lying down, tired from digging a hole, and Tina sleeping on her back, but I can’t see the Boparu.
All I could see was a huge pile of sand and a bottomless pit in front of it…
“…Boparu?”
“KyuiiiIII!!”
“Ooh!?”
As soon as I looked into the hole and called out Boparu’s name. A shadow that looked like a Boparu flew out from the bottom of the hole at high speed.
Oh, that was close. I fell back as quickly as I could and dodged it, but it almost hit me in the head.
“Kyui!”
While I was sweating cold inside, Boparu, who was shaking his body to remove the sand, held out something in both hands to me.
