The Fourth Apprentice brother stepped forward and squeezed between the two of them, shaking his head. “Second Brother, you have it wrong. The Master’s face is as cold as this cold jade bed, how would you know if he was willing or not?”

“True,” the Second Brother said with a scratch of his head. “It’s just that we feel that it’s unfair for the Master. Maybe the Master did plan to take her as his wife for quite some time… Eh? What’s wrong with you, Little Sister? Don’t leave, Little Sister!”

Liu Qing Yin stepped on the blade of her sword and rode away on the wind, before disappearing into the foggy night between the mountains.

At the same time, Wei Liang was still holding on to Lin Jiu’s wrist as they slowly walked on the wooden bridge. Lin Jiu still felt the lingering fear from the past when she dangled from the wooden bridge. She held up one of her hands and grabbed Wei Liang’s collar.

One step at a time.

At last, they returned to their newlywed’s room after crossing the bridge.

Lin Jiu looked towards Wei Liang with a big smile. “You can leave for as long as you wish and complete your mission with an ease of mind. Don’t mind me.”

“Who said that I’m leaving tonight?” Wei Liang said with an odd glance.

He swiftly closed the door with one hand and carried Lin Jiu over the threshold in his arms. He then walked towards the bed.

“??!!!”

She was lightly thrown into the soft blankets. Before she could resist, she saw the groom in his bright red wedding robe leaning over and pressing her down.

His arms caged each side of her; his presence, domineering. It was as if she were trapped in his arms and had nowhere to run.

Lin Jiu’s face turned to panic between the fiery red blankets and her inky hair. Her eyes stared straight at Wei Liang’s handsome face that was inching closer towards her.

He slowly closed his eyes and his thin lips parted slightly.

Was he going to kiss her?! Lin Jiu panicked even more. “Wait, Wei Liang! Think clearly—you have seen my mother’s attitude before. If you touch me, she will demand even more from you, and she’ll stick to you like a tape!”

Wei Liang paused for a second. “Well,” he said casually, “of course. Mother and Brother-In-Law are still staying at the bottom of the mountain. I will visit them first before leaving tomorrow.”

Those two came to the Thousand Divine Swords sect to take advantage of Wei Liang. In the original plot, the both of them created quite a scene at Qing Yun Xi’s funeral, and Wei Liang had no other way but to agree to Lin Jiu mother’s demands. He gave them many spiritual stones and elixirs, and he even delegated the Fourth Apprentice to return with them to their mansion. They also merged the three sects and let Lin Jiu’s brother, Lin Dong, stabilize his position as the sect master.

Because of this, Lin Jiu was despised by the people in Thousand Divine Swords. A few days later, she was exposed for poisoning Liu Qing Yin. Wei Liang then sent her back to Dong Ting, then announced to the public that Lin Jiu was worried about her little brother and went back to him in his sect for a few years.

Lin Jiu originally planned to use this chance to leave the Thousand Divine Swords sect so she could stay away from the male and female lead. But she didn’t expect that Big Brother, Qing Yun Xi, would still be alive, and that Wei Liang wanted to genuinely marry her.

It was true that one couldn’t plan for change.

“You need to know that my mother is a greedy person, very, very greedy!” Lin Jiu said seriously as she firmly pressed her hands firmly against Wei Liang’s chest. “You can’t even imagine how greedy she can be. She will demand for even more spiritual stones from you, and will even ask you to help Lin Dong get to an even higher position. It will only bring endless trouble for you in the future!”

“I don’t mind,” Wei Liang said. “She can get whatever she wants.”

The moment he finished those words, his lips had already met Lin Jiu’s.

Lin Jiu gasped and stopped talking. Her instincts told her that the moment she opened her mouth, she would be devoured completely by Wei Liang. One should never believe a man’s deceitful mouth. If he was really this generous, he would not have let the female supporting role’s family crumble apart and not do anything about it.

Wei Liang hugged Lin Jiu with one arm, then moved his palm upwards and stopped at the back of her head.

He did not kiss her forcefully. Instead, he was like a patient hunter, waiting for its prey to take the bait on its own.

The man’s breath was as cold as ice, but he smelled good. Their breaths mingled to the point where Lin Jiu’s mind started to feel fuzzy.

They stayed like this for a long time. Wei Liang finally let out a chuckle, and loosened his grip on her and laid to one side.

Only then did Lin Jiu realize that the back of her head was soaked with sweat. Her undergarments were stuck uncomfortably to her body. She tilted her head carefully and looked at Wei Liang, and was surprised to find him laughing. The back of his hand rested over his eyes, and his chest trembled slightly as he gave out a muffled laugh.

“Wei Liang. Ah, Wei Liang,” he sighed in his deep voice. It was melodious to the ear and at the same time very attractive.

Lin Jiu threw a cautious glance at him, but she didn’t dare to move.

Suddenly, Wei Liang moved his hand from his eyes. He cupped Lin Jiu’s head naturally and let her lean against his shoulder.

“I will treat you well,” he said.

Lin Jiu’s body tensed.

No way, not again?!

Wei Liang chuckled once more. He turned over and pulled her up, signalling her to sit upright. He placed his chilly hand on her back and slowly transferred his aura into her to help her level up…

“I know you’re stretched out from just now,” he said languidly.

Lin Jiu’s heart skipped a beat, but she didn’t dare to move a single inch.

The original storyline did not mention anything about the Red Lotus. But according to Lin Jiu’s experience, a powerful object that needs to feed on the evil thoughts of others to nourish itself was certainly an evil object itself. Things like that should be destroyed immediately.

Hopefully, Wei Liang wouldn’t sense anything unusual…

Then, as if Wei Liang read her thoughts, he said: “So that’s why.”
