Chapter 278: Day 1: Neo-hybrid beast, the protector of Searvale

"Merge." The Queen shouted while a powerful lightning attack coming towards her and Wil.
The players who were running away upon getting freed from the beasts halted their movements for a second and glanced at the sky.
Rini dashed backward to dodge the attack while Wil just sat there on the cloud hiding behind the beasts.
It was okay when he's alone with the Queen but in front of Rini and everyone, he can't transform into his Angel form or Neo-hybrid form or reveal his skills that may link to Time Traveler.
Well, at least, not yet… That's why he was prepared to get hit. But, when he heard the Queen about the word merge and saw they were glowing before coming together at one spot, Wil realized that it was as he feared.
"So, this is her trump card, huh!" Wil mumbled as he saw the back of a giant golem with spikes on its back, blue wings, and the head of a snake.
The new beast blocked the lightning with its body.
Wil was even more shocked as he checked its stats.

Description: Used to be the mount of Neo-Hybrid Brygos. After his death, it became weak and divided itself into four beasts.
Rather than the fact that nearly 1 Trillion of its HP was decreased, Wil was more surprised about the description.
"Neo-hybrid Brygos… Didn't Hyori mention that name when she found the Hall of demigods? His name is on the list… I wonder if his successor will be able to control it… Quite possible… Hmm…" Wil fell into deep thoughts. "If I'm a mage and an archer, it's quite possible the successor will be a mage and summoner or a swordmaster and a summoner… something to do with summoner…"

In the skies several hundred meters above Searvale, an intense battle started between the Neo-hybrid beast and King Reverie.
For each blow they exchanged, the king loses 6-7% of his health while the beast loses more than 12-16% of its heath, yet the king fell to a disadvantage as the Queen constantly healed and buffed Aviar by sitting on its shoulder.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix was trying to distract him but due to the lesser damage, the latter just ignored it and completely focused on the level-500 beast.
As for Rini and Wil, surprisingly, they ended up together on his cloud as part of Queen's plan.
When Wil dropped the Queen on the beast's shoulder, Rini jumped onto his cloud while leaving the Phoenix to assist the Queen and the protector.
Both of them were looking at the battle from hundred meters above and make sure not to get caught in the battle. To his luck, the King's concentration was entirely on the beast, although he glances at Wil from time to time.
But due to the divine protection still on Wil, he left him alone.
Meanwhile, Wil was waiting for the perfect opportunity to repel the attack that was in store. The time is also ticking for him.
And the opportunity finally arrived before he has two minutes left.
The King used a double slash attack, which was a bit similar to Rini's Merciless strike. In the form of X, as two energy arcs made their way towards the Queen, Rini ordered the phoenix to sacrifice itself.

"Lightning Strike…" He controlled the cloud to drop a lightning strike on King once again, following by releasing all the energy stored in the gourd towards the King.
Experiencing the lightning strike before, the king was always on guard on it. As soon as his eyes captured the flash of lightning from the cloud, he immediately dodged the attack but didn't expect familiar energy about to strike him dead on in the next second.
Not having time to dodge, he concentrated on his king's medallion. It generated a blue shield around him, absorbing all the attack.
"What…" The Queen was surprised to see their ambush failed while Rini was stunned realizing the lightning strike wasn't from the Queen.
She felt like a fool for not realizing all along.
Meanwhile, Wil clenched his fist in happiness. "Yes. He used it…"
"Eh?" Coming to her senses, Rini looked at him. "What do you mean by that?" She asked him in her usual tone.
"He used the King's medallion. Now, he was left with no protection and can be killed."
As the King set his eyes on Wil, the latter controlled the cloud and ascended further.
The King tried to catch but before he did, Wil already reached above 1000 meter mark, where not only players flying ability will cease, even NPCs too…
'Damn it.' The King muttered under his breath in frustration, "After killing her, I'll hunt you down for sure…"
He then turned to the Queen and flew towards her.
"Siren… Can you do me a favor?" Right then, Wil asked Rini and said his strategy about the beast going all out.
Upon hearing his request, she nodded and then passed the order to her Phoenix that revived as new.
One should say his earlier attack made her respect him a little bit.
Letting out a screech, the Phoenix flew towards the Queen and squeaked to the beast, transmitting Wil's strategy to the beast.
Elves were nature creatures. Naturally, the Queen also understood its language.

The Neo-hybrid beast hissed as it flapped the wings and flew towards the King who was coming towards them.
"Fist of Fury."
While the Queen is heavily concentrating on the beast, not paying attention to Wil anymore, the beast clenched its fist and punched towards the incoming attack.
The fist and the sword collided. The king was thrown a dozen meters away while the Neo-hybrid beast was flung away more than 50 meters towards the ground, losing 20% of its HP.
The Queen who kept her footing firmly on its shoulder, raised her staff, "Lightstream."
Her staff glow for a while and applied a healing buff of the beast. It started to recover HP 5% per second.
By the time, the King's sword neared the Queen, its HP was already recovered to 80%.
As the Queen keep on healing the beast, the king decided to kill her first. But, every time, he tried it, either the beast will save it or the phoenix will sacrifice itself.
Wil was still waiting for the perfect moment but for it to happen, either the King need to use his most powerful move or the beast should do it. But, neither is happening, probably because his skill is in Cooldown and the beast is still only either defending or just attacking with punches.
It made him wonder whether it was thinking about the Queen.
"Siren, this isn't working. I need the Queen to get off its shoulder." Wil asked her to convince the Queen to hop on the Phoenix.
