Dr. Kimura and Dr. Inoue arrived at the office of the president when they both saw Ethan standing outside. Dr. Inoue kept on pestering Dr. Kimura for the whole day already that the other got extremely irritated. This made Dr. Inoue keep on apologizing to his lover and when got forgiven he then held the other by his waist while they are walking. It is already a natural thing for the two of them thus they don't care anymore what other people might say behind their back.
"Ah! good afternoon Dr. Kimura and Dr. Inoue" Ethan greeted the two senior doctors in front of him.
"good afternoon as well Dr. Aoki, shall we go inside the office, I bet the president is running out of patience if we don't go in," said Dr. Inoue who then opened the door of the president's office.
"Ah! you three finally decided to show up! I'm about to get tired of waiting you know that" said the president. The CGH president was a surgeon during his younger years but ever since he reached the age of 50 he started to focus on managing the whole hospital and retire in being a doctor. He supported all the doctors under his hospital and made sure that the hospital would be able to give the best for their patients. He is a very jolly and yet strict leader of the hospital, no one was able to refute him whenever he is serious, even his sons who were now doctors still respect him as a former doctor of their hospital.
"I'm sorry for being late, Mr. President," said Ethan who then notice Dr. Lin sitting on one of the sofas. Dr. Kimura and Dr. Inoue went directly to the sofa to sit without saying anything to the president.
"Anyway, Dr. Aoki please do take a seat so that we can begin discussing our agenda." Ethan complies with what the president just said and he found himself sitting on the sofa beside Dr. Lin.
"President, is this about the upcoming major surgery that you have sent to me a week ago?" asked Dr. Inoue
"That is right, since that major surgery would be happening two weeks from now that I wanted to know if you are done with all the preparations?"
"Yes, I'm almost done with it but I haven't yet chosen my first and second assistant, do you have anyone you can recommend Dr. Lin?" Dr. Inoue originally wanted to have Dr. Lin as his first assistant for that major surgery but it just so happened that Dr. Lin has another surgery happening on the same day thus Dr. Inoue was left with a dilemma of choosing his assistant.
"About that, I believe both Dr. Inoue and Dr. Kimura already met Dr. Aoki, right?" asked the president who interrupted Dr. Lin who was about to answer Dr. Inoue.
"That is right, although I just met him yesterday unlike Dr. Kimura here who met him two days ago when he suddenly got a called from the director due to an emergency surgery that is needed" Dr. Inoue just met Ethan yesterday when he went to the ICU to look for Dr. Kimura. He saw his lover talking to Ethan about the patient that they both operated on during the incident.
"I see, well Dr. Ethan Aoki here is very similar to you Dr. Inoue, he is also a genius in his university. He's already a licensed doctor even though he is just about to graduate a few days from now. By next week he will be recognized as our resident doctor and currently, I think he will need to be trained as a fellow. That is why I would like you Dr. Inoue to have him as your student and teach him everything that you could teach him, he wanted to become a pediatric surgeon like you" The president is very fond of Ethan ever since he asked his friend President Sato to let him have Ethan work under CGH as well.
"oohh, how much of a genius are you that the president wanted me to have you as my student. This is the first time he had asked me to have someone I need to train as a fellow. You also wanted to be a pediatric surgeon huh? Why is that?" asked Dr. Inoue.
"Well, There was a time when I had an accident during my childhood years and I had to have two surgeries in two days. In that hospital, there was a doctor who was in general surgery and he is also a pediatric surgeon at the same time. He told me that the number of the pediatric surgeon in the country are not that many thus I made the decision of being one to save more children who might need our help in the future." Ethan has always been inspired by the works of Dr. Akifumi, the mother of Ken, ever since he had been operated on by him during that time.
"Ooohh, I see, well it is not only in this country but also in other countries as well. Being a pediatric surgeon is not an easy task since the ones we will be handling would be the body of a kid and they are more delicate than an adult's body. Every part of it is sensitive and one mistake could lead to another just like in a normal surgery but just a lot more risky than normal. Do you still want to become a pediatric surgeon after knowing that?" Dr. Inoue knows all the risk when it comes to operating a child, there are even times when he had to operate a two-year-old boy or even much younger than that. As someone who had experienced all of it need to know if Ethan is being serious about becoming a pediatric surgeon or not, it is an advantage for them since they could help out during operation no matter what age it is. There you can study more about pediatric surgery and that way I could teach you more of what I know. What do you think?" "HEY! Dr. Inoue, I just asked you to have him train as your fellow and not to follow you two in-country A! Don't take my doctors just like that" said the president who begun to object to the offer of Dr. Inoue
"Well, I would not take him completely though, but if he truly wanted to become a pediatric surgeon then he needed to learn it in the hospital that we are currently working at. That hospital has five genius doctors in that department and all five of them are much better than me. I bet Dr. Aoki would learn more if he will be taught by them so you should think about letting him go for a few years after that you can contact him in becoming like us, a seasonal doctor, or something like that. That way he is still your doctor and whenever he comes back, you can have his schedule pack like what you do with mine." What Dr. Inoue said makes a lot of sense that no one could refute even if it's the president of the hospital.
"*sigh* well if Dr. Aoki wants to go to another country I don't have no choice but to let him go but, Dr. Aoki please do come back as one of my hospital's doctor"
"Well, you still have a lot of time to think about it so no rush. Me and Dr. Kimura would be here for six months, until then you can give it so much thought as much as you wanted."
