Chapter 312: You Did A Good Job

After encountering Shi An Na, Zhen Wen Yu was no longer in the mood to continue shopping and decided it was time to head home.
Song Xing Xing was looking at her phone when she realized that they had arrived at the house. She was about to open the door when she realized that Zhen Wen Yu was looking at her.
"Mom? Is something the matter?"
Zhen Wen Yu flashed her a warm smile and patted her hand. "Xing Xing, I hope that you would not listen to Anna and her friend's words. Lu Xun, he really had nothing to do with that person."
Song Xing Xing nodded. "I know. Lu Xun had already talked to me about Miss Shi previously. Mom, you don't have to worry about me."
"How can I not worry about you? It was difficult for Lu Xun to find someone he liked and bring her home to see us," Zhen Wen Yu spoke. "What if you feel wrong and run away afterward?"
Song Xing Xing laughed upon hearing her words. "I'm not going to run away. As long as Lu Xun made me understand his situation and did not try to hide anything from me, I think I'll be fine."
"It's good if you feel that way." The look in her eyes showed that she was satisfied with this daughter-in-law.
Most women would be tremendously upset after encountering such a situation. But Song Xing Xing had faced Shi An Na rather well.

"A long time has passed. I know well that Lu Xun no longer had any feelings toward that girl. Mom hopes that you can trust him."

"Even if he changed his mind, I won't allow someone like Miss Shi to marry my son. Xing Xing, if Lu Xun did something to wrong you, you can always tell me. Mom will make sure to beat him until he finally comes to his sense."
The two of them spoke for a while before they finally alighted from the vehicle.
Seeing that it was almost time dinner, Zhen Wen Yu went into the kitchen with the auntie to cook.
Song Xing Xing accompanied her mother-in-law in the kitchen and took the opportunity to learn a few recipes of Lu Xun's favorite food.
The family had their dinner together after Lu Xun returned from the task that her mother had assigned him to do.
After chatting with them for a while, Song Xing Xing went upstairs to take a shower. When she came out of the bathroom, Lu Xun was seated on the bed as he looked at the items that she had bought earlier.
Noticing that someone was looking at him, Lu Xun finally raised his head to look at her. He placed the shopping bag on the side and raised a brow. "Did you have fun shopping with my mother earlier?"
"Hmm..." Song Xing Xing nodded. "I never thought that your mother would be very good at shopping."
"Un. Mom is really good at shopping. Once she arrived at the mall, she can walk around for hours and forget to eat or drink. None of us could keep up with her. You accompanied her for hours today. It seemed that mom is very satisfied that she would have someone who could accompany her to shop in the future."
Song Xing Xing laughed. She shifted her gaze to the shopping bags that Lu Xun had looked at earlier. "Mom gave me a bracelet and a necklace."
"Since mom bought them as gifts for you, then, you should accept them. It just showed that my mom likes you." Lu Xun said. He stretched his hand at her and spoke, "Come over here."
As she walked over to him, Lu Xun grabbed her wrist and with a gentle tug, she was seated on his lap. Instantly Song Xing Xing linked her arms around his neck to stabilize herself.
She hadn't seen him for half a day. Song Xing Xing realized that she was missing him terribly.
With one hand, Lu Xun helped her to dry her hair. "I heard that you ran into Shi An Na at the mall. Did she do something to upset you?"
Song Xing Xing guessed that her mother-in-law had mentioned her encounter with Shi An Na.
"I'm fine. You already warned me that she might find the chance to look for me. I had made mental preparation. Therefore, I'm not that upset with whatever she said."
His movement halted. Lu Xun left the towel draped on her head and hugged her tightly in his arms. Although this girl said that she was not upset, Lu Xun was still worried that she might not tell him the truth just because she did not want him to worry.
Lu Xun was sorry that Song Xing Xing had to face something from his past. However, Lu Xun knew that there was nothing he could do to avoid his past.
His frown deepened as he thought about what Shi An Na had said to Song Xing Xing.
Lu Xun had thought that Shi An Na would stop acting ridiculous after she was forced to leave Capital City. He had not thought that she would come to C Country to harass his mother and now, his fiance.
"I told her that we are getting married soon," Song Xing Xing spoke after a long silence between them. "I hope that she would give up and stop pestering us when she heard this news."
His lips curled into a smile. "Un. You did a good job."
Song Xing Xing giggled when he leaned to pepper her cheek with more kisses as if to coax her. However, that look quickly disappeared when Song Xing Xing recalled the way Shi An Na had looked at her before she left the jewelry store.
Shi An Na had failed to do anything to her today.
However, Song Xing Xing had a feeling that the girl would not give up too soon. Her instinct was telling her that Shi An Na will continue to make things difficult for them.. Especially now that she knew that she was going to marry Lu Xun.
