Chapter 56: Shura field (?) (part 3 of 4)

The next journey went very smoothly. Even though Gu Wuji still needed to go through many twist and turns in this house, but at the very least, no ghost or other existences showed up anymore. Gu Wuji didn’t want to meditate between two parties again, he was really too fed up in doing this stuff.

In the next moment, Gu Wuji felt a sharp pain coming from his shoulder for no apparent reason, that almost made him drop down on his knees in cold sweat.

“What the heck happened.” Gu Wuji reached out to touch his shoulder, then suddenly thought of Jin Yu’s painting, “Could this have a connection with the painting?”

As soon as he reached the first floor, Gu Wuji immediately stopped on his tracks.

The style on the first floor appears to be completely different with the one upstairs. There wasn’t any interior decorations here, the reinforced concrete was even directly exposed. The total area was very wide, but was absolutely devoid of anything, aside from the rays of light coming in through the window not so far away.

There was also a young man dressed in a white shirt not so far away, with his back towards him, and was painting something in the canvass.

This was also the scene Gu Wuji saw in the painting’s world, during the several times he was pulled in the paintings.

Thinking about it now, it can now be assumed that it wasn’t an illusion he came up with at all, and was more of because of some kind of link that made him see the truth.

Gu Wuji pronounced the other person’s name, “Jin Yu.”

Upon hearing these two words, that young man promptly turned around.

Gu Wuji was instantly stumped for words.

The person that appeared before him, was completely different from that delicate and bashful looking Jin Yu inside the instance. This young man has a stunningly beautiful appearance, and was just dressed in a white shirt. But this nevertheless brought out a more unadulterated and dangerous feeling all over him.

He looked over at Gu Wuji with a smile, “You’re here.”

Gu Wuji quickly returned to his senses after a brief astonishment. So that’s why the nurse and the other ghosts in the painting’s world before didn’t have any special reaction when seeing Jin Yu. The other side was also cautions enough to actually change his appearance before entering.

The real appearance of Jin Yu, was also quite similar with the youth in the picture Gu Wuji had just obtained. Presumably, the main character of that picture should be the Jin Yu of the past.

But knowing the appearance of the other party in the past doesn’t seem to be of any use now.

“Since I’m already here, don’t dream of being able to continue your painting anymore.”

Gu Wuji said so while carefully assessing the other party, then quickly rushed towards the other. He didn’t need to think in order to know that Jin Yu himself must be difficult to deal with, he is the most formidable boss in this instance after all.

But he didn’t need to do anything to Jin Yu at all. All he needs to do, was just to destroy that piece of painting!

So long as he can draw away Jin Yu’s attention for a while, he can then let the shadow ghost, which had been secretly released by him a moment ago, go and destroy the painting, which should be enough for him to be able to get out of this instance.

Gu Wuji simply charged forward like this, directly rushing in front of Jin Yu, then swiftly reached out to restrain the other.

Gu Wuji was stunned, and was pretty much unconvinced that things would proceed this smoothly. Just as he was about to make his move, the sharp pain on his shoulder aggravated. Even the wrist on both his hands seemed to have been impaled. This kind of pain made him uncontrollably fall on his knees.

“What the hell is going on……”

Gu Wuji looked down with great surprise, both his hands and shoulder had already been shockingly dyed red with blood. There was obviously nothing there, but it feels as if it had been impaled by some kind of sharp object. Blood continually bled from the wound, an outburst of unbearable piercing pain suddenly struck, which made him inevitably grit his teeth to stop himself from making a sound.

Apart from the pain, there was still an intangible force suppressing him. Just like that feeling of contending against the whole world inside the painting’s world before, but wasn’t so strong as before.

“It’s…… my portrait.” Gu Wuji immediately understood.

A hand gently caressed Gu Wuji’s cheek. The temperature on those pair of hands were exceptionally cold, just like that of a dead person, abruptly making Gu Wuji mind much clearer.

Jin Yu looked at him with a smile, “I’m really glad you were able to make it here, this also makes me like you even more ……it’s just that, you’re end is already inevitable right from the start.”

Jin Yu leaned a bit to side, and finally allowed Gu Wuji to have a complete view of the painting up ahead, which only lacks a few more strokes of the brush in order to be a complete painting.

The painting shows the scene of a man being nailed on the cross. He was obviously dead, but his expression was very peaceful. The blood flowing out from his wounds, were just like roses in full bloom. The angels clinging on his sides were seemingly mourning.

Gu Wuji had to admit that this portrait seems to look far better than those paintings previously painted by Jin Yu, and looks more like a work of art as well… But, it would have just been far better if the protagonist wasn’t him.
