Chapter 79: How could he possibly be this serious in playing an ordinary mobile game! (part 1 of 4)

Gu Wuji still had a faint smile on his face as he carried the dishes out the kitchen. He was quite evidently in a very good mood in regards to being able to showcase his cooking skills after such a long time.

It wasn’t often that Cheng Jia could see Gu Wuji be this happy. Thus, he started to look even more forward about what dishes would be served while waiting. Thank goodness he hadn’t eaten anything yet.

Cheng Jia’s expression subsequently turned rigid the instant Gu Wuji placed the dishes before him.

He had no idea what words to use to describe these dishes before his very eyes.

What is this!!

These two beautiful things of, being able to have a meal together with the respected Grandmaster Gu, as well as being able to eat the dishes personally made by Grandmaster Gu, should go together. So, why is reality so horrible?

He doesn’t even know whether these things before him can actually be consumed.

“What’s wrong?” Gu Wuji looked at him, “You’re not going to eat?”

While saying these, Gu Wuji casually placed a piece of the food into his mouth, with a still seemingly very nonchalant expression.

“No. I’ll start eating right away!” Cheng Jia suddenly felt guilt-ridden upon seeing Gu Wuji eat these food stuff nonchalantly, so he spurned himself inwardly.

How could he have doubted the cooking skills of Grandmaster Gu like this? These dishes must certainly just have appalling appearances, but was actually very delicious!

With this thoughts in mind, Cheng Jia picked up his chopsticks. He had even failed to notice the slight trembling of his hand, as he picked a piece of that undefinable food, before slowly bringing it into his mouth.

In that moment it entered his mouth, Cheng Jia felt his consciousness become hazy. He even felt like his soul had separated from his body in that instant. Upon looking around this room, he unexpectedly saw a lot of things he normally wouldn’t be able to see.

Whether it be that ghost standing next to the cabinet with a cleaning rug at hand, that ghost hanging on the ceiling, or that ghost hiding behind the furniture…… These should be the ‘household members’ of Grandmaster Gu, right?……

But the moment Cheng Jia’s line of sight fell upon Gu Wuji, a sudden surge of inexplicable fear rose without warning.

Gu Wuji was naturally still the same, but at his back was actually an infinite and unfathomable darkness. The surrounding ghosts kept quite a distance. They also seemed a bit apprehensive, and dared not carelessly come close.

That darkness subconsciously made Cheng Jia feel so scared, that he no longer had the courage to even take a few more glimpses. But his curiosity, drove him to raise his head and look over, whereupon, he faintly came in contact with a chilling pair of scarlet eyes–

“Cheng Jia! Cheng Jia!”

Cheng Jia abruptly sobered up at the sound of Gu Wuji’s voice.

It was only at this moment did he realize that his face was dripping with cold sweat, his limbs felt even weaker. But compared to these, the sense of lingering fear which swept through his chest, was more unexpected.

That truly was so terrifying, had he just taken a few more glimpses, or took an even closer look, then he might not exist anymore! But what truly was that existence?

“Are you alright?” Gu Wuji looked at Cheng Jia worriedly, “Why did you suddenly break into cold sweat after eating? Do you want to go to the hospital for a check-up?”

“I’m-, I’m alright.” After wiping the cold sweat on his forehead with a tissue, did Cheng Jia suddenly think of something.

Just a while ago, did he almost die and have his soul separate from his body after having just eaten the food personally prepared by Grandmaster Gu?! This food was truly fearsome, ah! Cheng Jia couldn’t even recall the taste of the food, as if it was just a piece of memory.

“You don’t look like you’re alright at all.” Gu Wuji then added: “Tell me if there’s something bothering you, alright? Could you have encountered a ghost again? You’re complexion was far worse than before.”

Aren’t there ghosts all over this room!

“I’m fine!” Cheng Jia shook his head at once, then said with a somewhat guilty conscience, “I simply wasn’t able to get any sleep last night because of too much excitement in moving over. I should probably be just too tired. My body feels like it can’t hold on anymore.”

“Then you should quickly get some sleep.” Gu Wuji didn’t notice even a bit of peculiarity from Cheng Jia at all, “You’re already an adult, yet you still act as a child.”

“Um.” Having never thought that he would actually have to lie to Grandmaster Gu, Cheng Jia couldn’t help from tearing up, and wish to stab himself. How could he do such an outrageous act!

Grandmaster Gu definitely didn’t prepare such food deliberately. Maybe for otherworldly experts like them, this kind of food was just a very common dish. However, this may not be suitable to ordinary people like him.

He had no choice but to do this for his own safety!

Cheng Jia was already feeling a sharp pain in his stomach at this time, so he somewhat staggered his way out the door in a hurry, for fear of exposing any trace to Gu Wuji.

At this time, in the next building outside this neighborhood, someone was using binoculars to observe what was happening in Gu Wuji’s side.

The several individuals seated in this room were surprisingly those group of middle-aged men from the Ning family, who had arrived together with Ning Yang before.

Although Ning Yang went off on his own to who knows where to fool around, but these group did their best to look into Gu Wuji and the Cheng family.

But the Cheng’s residence was very heavily-guarded, coupled with those many troublesome things recently, which led to an increase in security personnel. So, it would be difficult for them to mix in without making use of their last resort.
