Chapter 86: 7th instance: That is, someone who has always been waiting for him. (part 1 of 4)

It was soon late at night.

The oil lamps in the corridor had been simultaneously snuffed out at a certain point of time. This place lost all it’s light sources at this moment, and was so dark that one can’t even see the fingers in their hands.

Gu Wuji felt that the impact of this oil lamp was just like the lights out in a boarding school. Speaking of which, the current conditions were also much better compared to his former school dorm.

……during this terrible time, the only person, who was still capable in thinking about this kind of matter, may only be Gu Wuji.

The surrounding rooms were also very silent. No one probably dares to speak at this time. Of course, it was also impossible for anyone to have fallen asleep at this time. They might have to face against an unknown ghost tonight after all. None of them were greathearted to that extent.

Only Gu Wuji, who would fall asleep the moment his head meets the pillow, kept holding on to the idea of having a heart-to-heart chat with the ghost, and was still sitting firmly on the bedside.

Lily was lying on the bed. She had already tightly wrapped herself with the quilt, and had practically covered her whole face aside from her eyes. Despite all of that, she could still feel a bone-chilling coldness constantly seep in her body. This quilt didn’t seem to have the slightest effect at all.

According to reason, players were no longer supposed to feel this kind of coldness. This just proved, that at this time, the yin qi in this place was already so strong to the extent that a certain person’s body was no longer able to bear it.

Lily’s body couldn’t help but shiver. She held a defensive item in her hand, while nervously looking towards the door.

After all, after becoming aware of the danger, she had already moved the cabinet to block the door much earlier. But how could this cabinet possibly stop the evil spirit?…… If she really ran out of luck, then will the person, chosen by that evil spirit to kill, be her?

In fact, before entering the castle, when Lily was still investigating in the village, she happened to chance upon a former servant, who had left the castle, and learned a few things about the castle from the other party.

The ghosts in this castle weren’t normal at all. The people who died here before, even the entire castle, including the village, were anything but normal.

The more Lily thought about this, the more frightened she became. However, she also tried to adjust her mentality to her best. She cannot let her state of mind affect her actions. Otherwise, she won’t be able to even have the chance to escape, the moment she really encounters a dangerous situation later.

But at this moment, the sound of someone knocking the door suddenly sounded from the farthest room.

A hoarse female voice suddenly sounded, “Excuse me, can you help me bandage my wounds?”

The room next door was exceedingly silent. There was obviously no way that person would really speak up in such a time like this.

The players in the other rooms were all holding their breath at this time, while constantly thinking of the words said by this female ghost. What did bandaging the wounds mean? Does she have wounds on her? If they really don’t give a reply, will the other really be unable to come in?

The knocking at the door continued, becoming more and more urgent. This even made people suspect that the door, which never had any lock to begin with, was going to be pushed open at the next moment.

However, the knocking sounds at the door stopped.

The sound of footsteps could be heard soon after. That female ghost slowly walked towards the second room, and once again, began to knock at the door.

“Can you help me bandage my wounds? Why, won’t it stop bleeding? This is so strange……”

Along with these words, were the continuous sound of pain made by the female ghost, in addition to the sound of blood dripping on the floor.

The person next door was naturally too nervous to speak. Just by imagination, one can already imagine how terrifying that female ghost outside really looks like.

Seeing as there still wasn’t any response from the person on the other side after a long time, the knocks on the door ceased just like before. The footstep sounds of the female ghost finally arrived before the door of Lily’s room.

Lily couldn’t refrain from biting her lower lip. She held a tight grip of her item with both hands, and tightened her body almost to the point of stiffness.

“I can definitely get through this…… I can’t possibly be that unlucky……”

“It’s really very painful, and really scary. Why? Why did I encounter such a thing? Why, didn’t you help me……”

The voice of the female ghost changed from the previous numbness to hysteria, the knocks at the door also intensified. Her words contained accusatory sentiments. Nonetheless, these were obviously not directed at these players here at this time. Rather, these spoken words were for some former companions.

“Why! Why did you also leave me behind! Didn’t you promise that you’ll stay by my side?……”

The discourse of the female ghost were overflowing with a sense of venting, and were clearly transmitted to the ears of the other players in the area.

This presumably wasn’t the first time people were allocated to live in this room. This female ghost might’ve also been a previous victim that had been abandoned. What had happened in the past? All sort of terrifying scenes constantly passed through everyone’s mind.

Lily was already at the end of her wits. She even felt that her hurried and brief breathing was too noisy. She absolutely didn’t know whether any sign of movement she will make will attract the attention of the female ghost outside. Cold sweat continued to trickle down. The back part of her clothes had been completely soaked with sweat.

“Damn, I have to calm down……”

Lily tried to stay sane and not frighten herself too much. But it still wasn’t of much help at all. She didn’t dare to make a bit of sound even when her lips were trembling. Even though this already wasn’t the first time she came across a ghost, but this was the first time, she truly and deeply felt that her life was in danger.
