Baroness Berne smiled softly and lifted the cup with her wrinkled hand. “The other day when Evelyn stayed at the castle, there was a child who was very impressed with Miss Herman.”

Emma listened intently to the story; it seemed that Jenna had the idea of being Emma’s assistant first. Evelyn, who realized the maid’s intentions, then formally came up with the idea and it seems that the baroness granted it.
“I’ve never had any siblings, but I’m glad Jenna is here,” Emma said.
“I grew up as the eldest daughter, and I’ve been praised for being diligent and responsible. I’ll serve Miss Herman with all my heart,” Jenna replied.

“I am not a noble. But to be the maid of a commoner like me? I wonder how you made such a huge decision,” Emma bluntly said.
