“Hold on… C-Calm down!”
Jeannie desperately tried to calm the dragon down, but her voice didn’t reach it.
The dragon was in an agitated state because of the injuries to its body, so it didn’t hear anyone’s voice.
It just writhed in agony from the pain and flailed about.
“Jeannie!”
“Hey, calm down!”
Justina and I called out desperately, but the dragon continued to flail about.
It was flying so erratically that it was losing its balance.
Soon, the dragon that Jeannie was riding was upside down.
I heard the screams of the teachers and classmates on the ground.
“Justina, can you make it?”
“Of course!”
As soon as I pulled on the reins, Justina’s huge body suddenly accelerated.
I’ll catch Jeannie!
“I’ll take Genie! Justina should take the dragon!”
“Got it!”
Falling… Finding the right moment, I pushed off Justina’s back and leapt into the air.
As it is, I picked up Jeannie on the back of the rampaging dragon as it immediately took off.

Holding Jeannie in my arms, I thrust my training spear against the wall of the school building.
A tremendous load was put on my arm, and it hurt.
Even so, I never let go of the spear.
The spear scraped the wall, causing vertical cracks to appear.
Eventually, the spear could no longer bear the load and broke from the middle.
However, the momentum of the fall was greatly dampened.
We fell from a height of about three stories…
The rest of the way, I dared to hit the branches of a nearby tree, killing even more momentum and using the plantings as a cushion for my fall.
“Ugh!”
I was not able to kill my momentum completely, and I felt a dull ache in many parts of my body.
“Jeannie, are you okay?”
“Y-Yeah… somehow.”
Fortunately, it seemed that Jeannie was not injured anywhere.
I couldn’t judge by appearance alone, though, so I can’t be completely assured.
“Justina is…!?”
I hurriedly looked around and saw Justina’s figure in the middle of the ground.
She was hovering in place, lifting the falling dragon with a small bite, just like a cat would do.
It looked like she was able to save it.
Although we were far apart, Justina and I looked at each other and rejoiced in each other’s safety with a look that said, “We did it.”

After the accidents, the flight training was cancelled.
Jeannie and I were sent to the infirmary.
Jeannie only got a scratch from the dragon’s rampage.
They were able to treat her right away.
Since she was a girl, she was lucky not to have any scars.
I, on the other hand, ended up with bruises all over my body.
It was probably a miracle that I only got bruises after such a reckless effort.
This was thanks to Justina’s training, which strengthened my body.
“I’m really sorry, Alto-kun…
When I left the infirmary, I found Jeannie, who was supposed to have returned earlier.
She was not as energetic as usual, and seemed depressed.
