Once. Twice. Thrice.

Countless experiences of fighting clashed together with each strike. Kal'tsit has the advantage of time, accumulating countless kill counts in her hands during her lifespan. Meanwhile, Salter has the advantage of strength. The conceptual weight of the "Red Dragon" and her beloved sword Excalibur is something the former had not yet faced.

Due to Kal'tsit's subtle manipulation, the people around them are already cleared out.

Zoom-!

Boom-!

Seeing one of Salter's mana blasts casually destroying an entire cafe, her decision was proven correct.

Boom-!

Boom-!

Boom-!

Mana blasts were fired by her one after another. With her A++ Mana in exchange for her Magic Resistance's rank down, she is now free to shoot out Excalibur blasts as she wishes.

Utilizing the blinding light out of it, Salter briefly determined Kal'tsit's weak spots using her [Instinct–B], her sword wrapped with invisible air aimed at the latter's lower torso.

Clang-!

A metallic blade suddenly interrupted her strike. The power behind it is something that surpassed even its creators, pushing Salter back a few steps. Unbeknownst to her, a baleful red aura surrounded it. Mon3tr's red eyes glowed sinisterly, showing off intimidation that rightfully belongs to a dragon.

It turned into a black shadow before closely attacking Salter's front. Surprisingly, its swift strikes–done with four blades–aren't enough to falter her defense. She did suffer some wounds, but they are briefly healed by a healing factor.

'Avalon? She lost it in her original world...' Kal'tsit thought. 'It is a bad thing that she has it.'

Avalon, the sheath of Excalibur that is named from the land of paradise. Being wielded by its rightful user, it will prevent their death and invalidate attacks akin to [Garden of Avalon]. It even withstood [Ea], showcasing its true might.

'The restorative power hasn't appeared. It seems that the damage caused by the previous fight is no trifling matter. For now, forcing her to be ejected is the key to victory.'

After analyzing her strengths and weaknesses, she joined the clash once more. With her addition, the fight soon turned into a stalemate. While they have five blades on their side, Salter is skilled enough to manage her wounds. She is ruthless enough to take damage to reduce her losses more.

Zoom-!

Mon3tr fired off its converged light attack (i.e., laser) on her, only for most of it to be disintegrated by her armor. It is her [Magic Resistance–B] working. Granted, it could not nullify the laser attack completely. The impact behind it was transferred to her body, which then threw her offbeat for a moment.

Sou-!

In that brief moment, a silver blade came at her head. Salter briefly dodged it the best that she could, but it still connected with her headpiece.

Crack-!

It cracked before disappearing into motes of golden light.

'..!'

Her instinct warned her of danger approaching her once more. She promptly crossed her arms before receiving another laser attack. It is more intense than the first one, pushing her back for a few feet. Even so, she gathered some of that momentum to swing down her sword, blocking Kal'tsit's rapier. the force behind that blow was seen through by [Great Sage]. It is simply detrimental to be pushed back at this stage, which is why she abandoned her rapier moments before it clashed with Salter's blade.

Sou-!

It was sent flying in the distance before stabbing the concrete sidewalk.

With nothing left in her hand, Salter thought that she could regain her lost momentum. Immediately, she willed Excalibur to prepare for another mana blast. This time, however, it is no ordinary mana blast.

"Excalibur... Morgan!"

A tall pillar of black light emerged from her position. As Excalibur is pointed diagonally from the beginning, it coincided with a few high-rise buildings. This resulted in a hole being put into them. the top portion of those buildings soon fell to the ground.

Bam-!

Rumble-!

Strangely, there's not one bit of human activity after that.

[You are currently inside a realm created by your ally, Shiro.]

'The realm of mysteries?!'

Kal'tsit was surprised. She thought that Shiro could not utilize his power for a while, but it seems that he did so again. Altair's cooldown on being rejected by this world is not even over, so she could imagine the backlash that he might have suffered.

[Detected a familiar presence in the surroundings. Based on the previous records, your ally, Gokou Ruri, is present.]

BAM-!

BAM-!

Sounds of air being pierced rang out. Two black objects seemingly exceeded the speed of sound as they headed for Salter. Adding to that the mysterious power that encased them, its impact became stronger every moment.

BOOM-!

In the end, the impact caused a huge pit to appear. It is more than twenty feet deep, with the surrounding streetlamps and trees being affected by it.

Sou-! Sou-!

The daggers flew back in a single direction. Soon, they reached the hands of their owner. She is currently wrapped in slender black armor whilst being surrounded by black shadows. This made it hard to discover her true identity.

"You can find the secrets behind the restoration force, doctor. Leave this to me."

"...No." Kal'tsit replied. "I can do it while fighting."

"Why–"

Buzz-!

The familiar blue pixels reappeared in their sight once more. The same thing occurred every time their most troublesome enemy appeared. Fortunately, she did not appear.

Click-!

Buzz-!

Something akin to a lock was broken at this moment. Then followed another unlocking sound. In total, it happened four times.

"Lock..? This is bad!"

Vast darkness spread out from Kuroneko's shadow. This expanse soon became the land of shadows. Each of the elites that she had defeated appeared in the form of shadows once more–pledging their undying loyalty towards their monarch.

"Excalibur has thirteen seals imposed by the planet. Every one of those needs to be unlocked in varying conditions and in turn increases its mana output at the same time."

Upon hearing Kuroneko's words, Kal'tsit swiftly realized what was going on. Simply put, the fight is going to be harder.

Moments later, Salter's figure rose from the crater. Some of her plate armor has cracks in it. Yet, the pressure coming from her only became stronger. The "mana enhancement" attribute of her sword became stronger.

"A despicable assassin intervened in the duel."

"Say that to your boss who gave you unreasonable power-ups." Kuroneko retorted.

"Boss? You might be mistaken about something."

The invisible air on her Excalibur disappeared, revealing the black blade which emitted an ominous aura. Just by existing, it distorted the space around it. If not for Shiro's [Concealment], Tokyo would've suffered a great disaster.

"We are merely working together. Temporarily." Salter said. "To erase all evils in this world, that is."

Kuroneko sported a dumbfounded expression inside her helmet after it. She guessed that Salter is being manipulated by Altair, but she did not expect her "manipulation" to be this good. She gave a pitying look as a result.

"She's far too gone. Why is she as naive as her Fate/Zero self?"

In response to this, Salter changed her expression to that of anger.

"You don't know anything! Such a good creator, yet..!"

Wordlessly, she gathered another round of mana blast this time around. Dozens of shadows lunged at her but in the end, they melted out of that mana after one swing.

Zoom-!

Boom-!

Another set of skyscrapers was felled under her attack. Kuroneko had already disappeared into the shadows, waiting for the right time to strike once more. As for Kal'tsit, she decided to use one of her strongest points–magic.

[Initiating battle mode number 3. Deploying anti-personnel magic... Deploying anti-field magic... Deploying disrupting magic...]

Hundreds of magic circles lit up the bright and sunny sky. Each of them is varied in colors and effects. Though, they all aimed for a single target.

[Deploying countermeasures for anti-magic... Using information analyzed from the previous clash...]

The monotone voice continuously rang in her mind. Even so, Kal'tsit is focused on that terrifying sword. Thirteen seals could kill the White Titan who almost destroyed the world. What they are fighting against is a third of that combat strength.

'How strong is it?'  Such thoughts lingered inside her mind. 'I need to fight her more.'

Grabbing the thrown rapier, she prepared for the second decisive assault.

A/N: You might have noticed the inconsistent updates this week. The sole reason for that is our profs deciding to give out three projects in a single week .-.

Anyways, the schedule should be back to normal. As for this arc, the final fight will happen soon. I have a vague plan on how I should work Altair out (with her overpowered abilities).

Happy reading~!
